Time I get to this one . @Librarybelle suggested the tag #RealHistory @dabbe suggested #HonestHistory Remembering the sanitary history of my school days , I remember thinking, is this all there is? Doesn‘t seem some people, stories are left out ? Over the years there are more options available. Older ones below.

Well , I didn‘t read it as fast as some of the reviewers, but I did enjoy this twisty thriller. Sloane lies about nearly everything, she had a rough beginning and uses her fibs to make her life more interesting than it is. She meets a handsome father with his lovely daughter at a the park, maybe a nanny gig ? Maybe something else ? Getting close to this family may be more than she bargains for !

Humphrey Bogart played both of those roles , & as you can see from the cover , Robert Mitchum played Marlowe in a remake . Good stuff !

Loved it ! Belongs next to these others that I have reread since Election Day. While some events outlined in this book have changed , it is still a relevant book as the playbook for dismantling democracy and running the grift never changes . Enlightening and depressing, so glad I read it

This is the era of Rush Limbaugh who filled the airwaves with absolute lies. The era of Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot. The era where many conspiracy theories thrived and a segment of voters seemed to celebrate their ignorance. Hmmm , how did we get here? 🤔

An impulse pick up at the library! I enjoy her music but didn‘t know that much about her , I‘d say fans that follow her would know this stuff but I enjoyed filling in some information on her .Photos throughout of her incredible fashion & performance looks.Towards the end tells of her singing at Bidens inauguration & her being honored w/a born this way rainbow painted street in West Hollywood. What a contrast to the lunacy of the U.S. right now 😡

The park has been a hub of the Village , as the society folks moved further uptown, the area drew artists, bohemians, and radicals. NYU is near by , it has been a place of meetings , protest , music ,and games of chess.
