The cover looked good, the book well full of teen drama. The characters never grew. This left us with a cliff hanger fir the next book. Will I read it? Not likely I'll continue with this series #HauntedShelf #FightClub #SpookoweenReadathon #Witchaton #PumkabooHuntSize Large #SeriesLove24 #ReadAway24

shortsarahrose I‘ve never picked it up, but I HATED the movie, so I doubt I would like the book. 3y

Goth | Otsuichi

First post! I haven't even gotten halfway and already Goth by Otsuichi is one of my new favs for horror. A must read if you like stories with a lot of twists and turns!

hannah-leeloo Thank you for the follow sweet. @LitsyWelcomeWagon happy reading 📚 ❤📖 3y
MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward Nice read! Welcome to Litsy and thanks for the follow 🎉💃 Are you a Chuck Palahniuk reader at all? 3y
AXOLOTL @MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward Name sounds familiar but I don't believe I've read anything by him. What kind of books does he write? 3y

MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward @AXOLOTL He'a most well known as the author of #Fightclub. But! If I may intrude, as a horror fan, give Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk a read. He.... he's very good at playing in moral grey area. Choke and Invisible Monsters by the same author have their own style of villainizing the normal in all of us. Haunted is a mess though, not for the light of heart! 3y
AXOLOTL @MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward Wow I'm gonna have to put that down in my very very VERY long list of books to read! Thanks for the suggestion! 3y
MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward @AXOLOTL I don't know what genre Palahniuk fits in, is what I'm getting at here 😂 Haunted is a novella of... uh, short-stories. It's the only book I've ever had to put down to psychologically cope between chapters. 3y
MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward And I'm a slow typer. Lol! What are your horror top 3 must reads @AXOLOTL ? 3y
AXOLOTL @MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward Very interesting...I'm a big fan of books and authors that go that extra mile to make the reader feel physically uncomfortable. To me it makes the story feel more real. 3y
AXOLOTL @MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward Top three I must go with my post Goth by Otsuichi, a classic IT by Stephen King, and finally Rings by Koji Suzuki. I love horror from other cultures as well as the genre Splatterpunk horror, these books were made to make you feel sick to your stomach as you're reading and I live for it. 3y
MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward @AXOLOTL oh, you and Palahniuk will make fast friends. I‘ll look forward to seeing more of your reads! Thanks for the picks list, always glad to chat horror with folks who like their books to cost shreds of sanity. 🙃 Welcome, welcome, once again!! 3y
AXOLOTL @MerlinTheSlightlyAwkward 🤣 Thank you so much! I look forward to interacting with you and everyone else! 3y

Couldn‘t decide what to read next, so I decided to re-read this. Didn‘t quite pack the same punch (what the hell ever does?) and I found it extremely hard to read now without seeing it as a prophecy in which everything came true except the liberation.

Pandora and Royce 🔥🔥 I really liked this book - no super drama, just fun relationship building with some push and pull while getting to know each other. A really fun and quick read!

I really liked this. It‘s been long enough since I read this the first time that I really didn‘t remember anything. Although some things came back to mind as I was reading them, any twists and turns were a surprise to me again this time around. There were a lot of characters, a lot going on, but I found the characters easy to follow who was who. A drawback to writing about technology – already some of it has been surpassed by more technology!

Cinfhen THIS IS OPEN TO ALL!! If you want to join in for a #BelowZer00s buddyread in January add your name and book suggestion ☃️ 6y

madamereadsalot1 I'll throw this one out there. 6y
batsy Because I'm ashamed that I've had this book for a very very very long time without reading it 🙈 (But I also haven't read both the Atkinson and Ishiguro and want to vote for them both 😂) 6y
TrishB As I love Atkinson I could read again 😁 putting thinking hat one! 6y
Librarybelle I loved Case Histories but would happily read it again with others! I‘ve not read read either Never Let Me Go or The Known World. 6y
erzascarletbookgasm I have Case History on my tbr shelf, don‘t mind reading it! But I‘ll put this out there too because I think it‘ll generate lots of opinions (edited) 6y
CarolynM I've read the other Jackson Brodie books but not Case Histories and I would certainly like to. I'd also be interested in Never Let Me Go. I'm also going to throw in 6y
Cinfhen Ooooh, this is gonna be tough!! Lots of good choices already in the first hour!!! @madamereadsalot1 @batsy @erzascarletbookgasm @CarolynM we‘re collecting titles until Thursday so I‘ll be curious to see what other gems appear @Librarybelle @TrishB @Cathythoughts 6y
Cinfhen Your choice does sound great @Cathythoughts but we‘re choosing books published between 2000-2009 😘 6y
BarbaraBB It was my pleasure, thanks for having me ❤️ 6y
BarbaraBB Most of the books mentioned above I‘ve already read so I‘m throwing an obscure one from the #1001books list 6y
Mdargusch Lots of good suggestions so far! And I haven‘t read any of them so that‘s a plus. Case Histories sounds interesting though. 6y
cobwebmoth I've wanted to read this one for a while, but haven't had a chance. 6y
Megabooks I love stories about North Korea! 6y
Megabooks Also this one: I‘ve been meaning to listen to the audiobook 6y
Cinfhen Ooohhh, they both sound good @Megabooks 🙌🏻and JSF Is a total hit or miss author @cobwebmoth but I think his books make for good discussions. It‘s gonna be hard to narrow down the choices 6y
TrishB Don‘t know if we can nominate more than one? 6y
Cinfhen Excellent choices @TrishB Thanks!! 6y
TrishB Whoops I just read it‘s only one selection!! You can choose either 😁 6y
Cinfhen Hi @BarbaraBB choose three books from this list that you‘re interested in reading, I‘ll choose three ( I‘m assuming we are each choosing our own suggestion) and then I‘ll make a graphic of the 6 books selected and we‘ll put them up for votes. 6y
BarbaraBB I think Case Histories will easily win and that one sounds good. I‘ll nominate that one, and Kieron Smith Boy and Veronica! (edited) 6y
