pickI'm enjoying the Captain Alatriste historical adventure series, set in 17th century Spain. This 2nd book deals with the Spanish Inquisition's persecution of those with Jewish blood -- some serious themes mixed in with swashbuckling fun.
I'd read this for May's #FoodandLit challenge. My husband and I visited Barcelona last fall and loved the offerings at the pincho bars, so I included a couple of photos here. @Catsandbooks @Texreader
pickProbably a bit unrealistic but so much fun! Kinda had some Weekend at Bernie‘s vibes, but with female familial bonds. And I could not stop laughing during the scene where Meddy was trying to explain sexting to the aunties. 🤣

Paul Dorian has now written 15 books in the Mike Bowditch Series and they are still amazing. I always enjoy to see what the Maine Game Warden is investigating or getting into. I feel that you could read this as a stand--alone and not be lost.
Mike is called to assist with a missing person case, that may not be a missing person, by a rookie game warden. Mike and Charley, his father-in-law, head to the northern woods of Maine. ⬇️
