Reading during a pedicure this morning #selfcaresaturday
Loving this book! I'm not usually one for spooky haunted houses but this one has sucked me into the story. And I love the use of footnotes in a fiction book, it really adds to the world building

Mshookquilts This one surprised me too, because I‘m not one for spooky books. 11mo

I had a morning to myself so I went to the library because duh and got a smoothie too! 😁 #SelfCareSaturday

The tagged book is the short story collection you can‘t see due to glare. Excited to read Ferris‘ short stories, too, though he is hit or miss for me. Glad to dive into Fuller‘s backlist! Living Forever and Hotel I hope will be delightfully weird. I am most excited for the nonfiction graphic novel Oak Flat.

jlhammar I loved Oak Flat! Unsettled Ground is also great. 2y
Cinfhen Sounds like a wonderful day to spend your Saturday 💜🌸📚 2y
Ruthiella The Third Hotel is a fever dream of a novel. I‘m interested in your thoughts if you read it. 2y

sarahbarnes Sounds amazing - yes what else would you have done?! 2y
squirrelbrain Of course you need to go to the library - great choices! 2y
vlwelser Obviously. Living Forever was my aardvark pick for April. Haven't started but keeping an eye out for your take on it. 2y
BarbaraBB That sounds like the perfect me-time 🤍 Curious to hear what you‘ll make of the Van de Berg! 2y
youneverarrived Lovely way to spend a morning 😁 2y

A great month for self care! #selfcarebingo

1. Tried gnocchi for the first time 2. Old & new pics that make me 😁: new bird feeder, blue sky, my girls, a couple of Max, the beach, me at Comic Con as Captain America where I met up with Winter Soldier, my husband, my dad being kissed by an emu! 3. Had a mani & an eyebrow wax 4. Watched The Breakfast Club & Pretty In Pink 5. Wrote a flash fiction piece 6. Did #selfcaresunday each Sunday this month

ElizaMarie I love these pictures!!! I love that you had a great month! So happy for you! And #SelfCareSunday sounds great!!! I might have to do a #SelfCareSaturday (as I work every Sunday) 4y
OriginalCyn620 You totally should @ElizaMarie! And thanks! 😀 4y

Currently rereading Afterimage by Helen Humphreys, and trying to stay interested in the tagged for #Booked2020 - Tartan Noir

My last couple picks have been rereads, and I'm finding it extremely comforting to revisit books I loved years ago.

Cooking, baking, and luxuriously long showers.

#selfcaresaturday @Bianca

📖 Reading Shorefall and Empire of Storms
📖 Fantasy series that I can get lost in or a beach type read.
🏇 Riding it has kept me sane over the last month.

TheKidUpstairs English or Western saddle? 5y
TheSpineView @TheKidUpstairs English. Dressage mainly. 5y
TheKidUpstairs @TheSpineView I'm not a rider myself, but I am surrounded by them! My mom runs a riding school (English saddle), and used to compete at fairs around Ontario for hunter/jumper. My uncle and cousin both rode and competed in Western events. And my to be sister-in-law owns two horses, I think she does dressage. They are amazing animals! 5y
TheSpineView Yes horses are amazing! I have ridden since I was 6 and will probably ride until I die or my health does not allow me. 5y

A tad late as usual for #selfcaresaturday (what a great tag) @Bianca

• Tagged (2nd read), Giver of Stars, Age of Innocence
• Something light—I don‘t like the titles but I‘ve discovered “cozy mysteries” are good for stressful times
• Besides reading? Crafts: scrapbooking, embroidering, coloring, napping

I think we can all use some self care with everything going on in the world. I hope you‘re staying sane. 🙂

• The tagged book, Birds of a Feather by Jacqueline Winspear, and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer.

• I‘m not much of a rereader. Sometimes a comforting read means a romance because it has a guaranteed HEA and sometimes it‘s mystery/suspense because it provides a great distraction.

• Coloring. It can be very relaxing.

#selfcaresaturday

Texreader Coloring is a great activity when under lots of stress 5y
dylanisreading @Texreader Agreed! I spent most of yesterday evening/night coloring while binge watching the new season of Bosch. It was exactly what I needed to let go of some anxiety. 5y
