‘An innocent young girl... a noble youth obsessed with her beauty... and a mother who will do anything to keep them apart...‘

This was an excellent version of Rapunzel. Highly recommend to fairytale lovers.

I had fun tracking my #Bookspin books with this graphic this year. I skipped October because of the hurricane. #Bookspin continues to be my favorite challenge. I always look forward to the drawings on the second of the month. Thanks @TheAromaofBooks !

TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! Fabulous progress this year!! And I SUPPOSE a horrific natural disaster is an okay excuse for skipping some spins 😂 But seriously, I haven't heard as much news coming up from NC now that the holidays are in full swing - have most people had power/water restored? Last I heard, many of the rural areas were still struggling. 1w
Soubhiville @TheAromaofBooks there are still areas without water and power. Still bridges and big chunks of roadways gone. Still folks living in tents. The city of Asheville has water back and it‘s safe to use again, but you‘re correct that the rural areas still need a lot of work. I have heard that FEMA has begun getting housing in for some families though, and many organizations have gotten donations of tiny houses and RVs. But more are needed. 1w
Soubhiville It‘s sad but unsurprising that national media moved on so quickly. As we‘ve seen in so many cases before: Katrina, Flint Michigan, etc. 1w
AmyG People have such short attention spans….and so does the media. 😥 Loved seeing all your books! 1w
TheAromaofBooks Thank you for sharing an update - at least things are still moving forward, however slowly. Hopefully people are able to get the help they need!! So scary. 1w

I saw @Amiable posted her favourite reads from past #AuldLangSpine matches, and I love the idea! As I look forward to reading from @CarolynM's list in 2025, here are my faves from my past awesome matches:

@MeganAnn - The Girls at the Kingfisher Club (historical fiction meets fairy tale retelling at its finest)

@sprainedbrain - Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

@monalyisha - World of Wonders (so good I've read it twice now!)

Cont'd

TheKidUpstairs @Chelsea.Poole - Unlikely Animals (give me a Greek chorus of ghosts and theatre gone wrong any day of the week!)

@Sapphire - Fault Lines (a total surprise hit for me)

MeganAnn What a fun idea! The Girls at the Kingfisher Club remains one of my favorite retellings. And Fault Lines was SO good too! It made my list of 2022 favorites. I definitely need to move Unlikely Animals and World of Wonders up my TBR. 3w
TheBookHippie World of Wonders is amazing! 3w

Christine Unlikely Animals was so good! As was Rabbit Cake! Your post made me wonder if she has anything new coming out soon and I'm so excited to see she does!! 3w
TheKidUpstairs @Christine I haven't read Rabbit Cake, but that new one sounds so good!!! 3w
Chelsea.Poole I love this idea! What hashtag are we using? 3w
TheKidUpstairs @Chelsea.Poole I just used the #AuldLangSpine tag, didn't even think of creating a separate one! 3w
TheKidUpstairs @Christine you inspired me to look for Rabbit Cake and the audio was available on Libby. I just started it this morning and am absolutely loving it! 2w
Christine Oh yay, so glad you‘re loving it!! 🐰🍰❤️ 2w
CBee @Christine this is exciting! I also loved both of her previous books! 2w

This was a great story. I‘ve been in a T kingfisher mood lately and are loving reading through their works, a lot of which are a nice short length. This one is a sleeping beauty retelling with a twist. Very fun 😻

Final #Bookspin list of the year! I‘ll definitely be reading 1 and 7 for bookclubs, we‘ll see what else @TheAromaofBooks chooses from her magic bowl of numbers! ❤️💚📚

AmyG Hamnet is wondeful. So is #8. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. (edited) 4w
Soubhiville @AmyG I‘ve already started The God of the Woods on audio. She‘s a great writer! I loved Bright River. I did have a nice day with a small gathering in my little apartment. 🙂 Food from my favorite veggie restaurant. How was your day? 4w
AmyG How nice! Ours was lovely, quiet. Just us and our 2 daughters. 4w
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 4w
