One of my favorite Pratchetts! Even though the German translation uses some words and descriptions I wouldn't use anymore, I still loved each and every page in this book. It just goes straight to the heart. And I think the books about Death help us dealing with our own mortality and might take away some fears. At least it helped me a lot.

So, I went through another Discworld novel audiobook. It‘s nice listening to them being read after reading them myself years ago. I especially like the stories of Death because of their wry sense of humour. And the apocalyptic end of Reaper Man made me cry.

Grateful to my library, thanks to reading the Discworld books based on availability, this is the Death book I read last, which I feel is the best one at telling Death's story. Ridiculous wizard hijinx on the side, which brings levity to the poignant tone behind a lot of the truths the principal characters encounter. Moments of action and reflection. Bonus: origin story for The Death of Rats! Beware some early 90s unenlightened passages.

Found the next Terry Pratchett book I was planning on reading already on my shelf when I was rearranging some. Good thing I didn't buy another copy!

One of my favorite series is Discworld by Terry Pratchett. I‘ve been working my way through them all in order for the last few years, most of them are rereads for me. Each pretty much stands alone, and my past reading order was all over the place, whichever the library had available or whatever I found in a used bookstore or Little Free Library.

I absolutely adore my cloth bound signature series. The tagged is one of my favorites.

I changed things up at this point and instead of continuing through chronologically, I swapped over to reading the Death books.

This is my favorite Death story.

I think I already read this one this year but here I am again as I go back through the Discworld books. I really enjoy the scene at the end with the Harvest Dance.

I liked this one, death on vacation was interesting to see. I did miss the witches though, although the bumbling wizards were entertaining I missed the ladies. Looking forward to the next one.

This is a decidedly wobbly rating. After an absolutely fantastic opening there's just... less Bill Door and more Windle Poons than I want (sorry Windle, but you don't have much of a personality). My memory has expanded the Bill Door portion, providing some of the work the book doesn't do, but that ending, when the dust has settled? Full on punch in the sternum. What can the harvest hope for?
