My favorite book by this author so far.
(1991)
I'm not the audience for this (I think "inspirational romance" is publishing-industry jargon for "leave it on the shelf, swynn") but it was recommended to me in a way that made me feel obliged to read it. I (audio-)read the whole thing so that I could talk about it in an informed way, and now there is exactly one thing I want to say about it, and that one thing is:
No.
This was a lot to take in. To think, they were and are so many girls like Angel who never knew or lost love, enduring love. Michael following God's will showed Angel the power of love and acceptance. The story captivated me from start to finish.
June Book 1/25 #LitsyLove #bookspinbingo
Now, I can watch the movie.
There‘s a lot I could say about this book that I don‘t have the space for here. Based on its reviews, it seems everyone else loves this book. I didn‘t. 😕
I tend to shy away from Christian fiction, not because of subject matter, but only because I‘ve never seen what I would consider a well-written one. I thought this would be the exception, but it wasn‘t. I was rolling my eyes frequently.
I watched the movie afterward. It was better.
Just found out about #2022readingbracket so this is my catch-up post!
January - Will by Will Smith
February - The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis
The winner between these was really hard to choose, but I had to go with Will because the audiobook just really elevated the experience
March - Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
My April TBR is packed with great contenders, so this should be a hard month to choose!

I first read and loved this book over 15 years ago. My mom told me about the movie coming out so I decided to read the #audiobook before trying to see it. I was a little wary it wouldn‘t live up to my memories of how good it was because my life views have changed drastically since I read it. And while there were certain things that I question and I definitely have a more cynical viewpoint of the world and religion in general, I found that it‘s ⬇️
Been reading, but not posting 😢 🤷🏻♀️
Had a really great February, but too much to post to catch up, so I‘ll just start here.
Enjoyed the tagged book a lot! It was recommended by a friend and now I need to watch the movie.
Next up: Girls on Film for my #doublespin
Goodness. I couldn‘t put it down! What a powerful and well written representation of God‘s love for His people
May be the very last person in my town to have read Redeeming Love, but I now know what all the hub-bub is about. Fantastic story and now I can accurately critique the movie when I see it next week. ;)
In my opinion only Todd Spencer (of Robin Jones Gunn titles) is the written equivalent to Michael in this book and will tie as my bookish-crushes from here on out.
Oh my this was good.
I wouldn't usually choose a western or historical fiction but I'm glad my virtual bookclub suggested it.
Warning, this will make you cry, scream, laugh and cry even more. And most of all, it will have you considering your relationship with God.
It was OK. Not bad, but not great. I had a hard time relating or sympathizing with the main character for every time she was in some sort of grave danger, she voluntarily put herself there. I also thought the ending was very rushed considering the first 450 pages were so slow.
Without a trailer for the movie, I never would have picked up this book. The cover and the title are not something I would normally bother reading, but I am liking it so far!
I have listened to audiobooks only a handful of times, but maybe I will try it more often now. Got this one through the library via Hoopla. It is tough but compelling so far.
This had been on my TBR for years. So glad to finally read it with a group of ladies. Excellent. 5⭐️
I listened to this book on audiobook and I should definitely get a copy ❤️ I loved every page…. The writing style has depth and the chapters unravel a deeper side of the story each time. It is based on the book of Hosea from the Bible and touches on faith, all-consuming love and forgiveness. I‘ve been shaken and one of the BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ 👌🏾
one of my sweet friends bought this book for my recent birthday since it is her most favorite book. I hope I love it as much as her! I‘m so excited to start this tonight! 🤍
This book is amazing and BEAUTIFUL ! It was my first Francine Rivers book and it certainly isn't my last!
My favorite! So far this is such a great book! I love this author ❤️
That moment when you realize what a weird vibe you're presenting with your current reads...
I loved this book. I never expected to like it but I ended loving the book. I know we all are secretly dreaming to have a man like him lol

This book was soul touching. Having someone to love you like he loved her. Wow. This was the first book I read written by her and have since read 3 others.

Thanks @Kdgordon88 for the tag.
@Buechersuechtling @j9brown @zezeki would you guys like to play along?
A really good story but way too long. I thinks the author could have cut this book by at least a third and still had a great book. This is the story of Angel, a prostitute who found God through love.
⭐️ I am still on this one! I have not had much time to sit and read. 😩

My reading companion. 🐾💙 Baby Tiger is so sweet. I need to get more coffee but I hate to disturb him. 🍮🍮
I was in New Orleans yesterday so I figured I‘d hit B & N! Yay!!! 📖💙📚💙 Bookhaul!!
Enjoying this so far. Anyone else read it?
The most beautiful story. An actual masterpiece this book is. So glad I made this my first read of 2020. It‘s a MUST read.
One of the best Christian novel writers, looking forward to reading more
Haha, uhm, well! 🤓 Not sure what I was thinking here but there was an Audible sale and you know how that goes. You know, this could have been a decent story if it weren‘t for the religion getting shoved in your face all the time. Starting this book, I didn‘t know the author was a “reformed” romance author. The way she talked about it in the interview made it seem she had been into porn and was now born again 😄 I wonder how filthy her books were?

2. Brooklyn 99, Superstore, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Schitt's Creek, How I Met Your Mother.... I really like shows that make me laugh.

@howjessreads #FriyayIntro yay! This was fun :) thank you!
Lovely #LitsyLove received this rainy morning in Michigan 💙 ~ I've heard apologies from a couple of PenPals recently about their timing. Please know that no apology is necessary. I'm thrilled whenever I get fun snail mail 🐌💌 and I have no expectations about replies. Blessings should never be pressured or expected!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely fell in love with the characters of this book! I couldn't get enough of it.
Unlike other books where you absolutely hate the main character for some of the stupid decision he/she makes, the ones Angel makes are kind of understandable. You get frustrated with her but all the while your heart breaks right along with/for her.
It also breaks for Michael and the pain he goes through trying to help Angel realize her worth.
This was a great book! It was a bit lengthy and some parts seemed a bit tedious, but I loved it overall. It had some content that younger readers probably wouldn‘t be ready for. But I love the overall theme of redemption and forgiveness.
Enjoying this one so far! Very touching.
Starting the weekend right. Relaxing on the patio with this book.
My #bookhaul today from my hooky time with @EclecticBookLover! Even bought one at Hobby Lobby! Go figure! 🤪
All time favorite! Its full of heartache and true love. Sarah had made me mad so many times. Ive cried too. I would put the book down and said Im done! Then, I wonder what happened next. I had a love/hate relationship with Sarah. A book that will definitely have you in your feelings. #catsoflitsy
