What an apropos chapter title! Happy (early) Thanksgiving, Littens!
What an apropos chapter title! Happy (early) Thanksgiving, Littens!
“Rant a bit, rail a bit, pray a lot- that‘s who you are.” Some great lines in this book!
One more week until Christmas Break, and all I want to do is lay around and read ❤️ #Teacherlife #igiveup
Loving this regency romance with a little rivalry 🔥🔥🔥 When a young woman tries to secure her sister‘s future by encouraging her to marry a wealthy man, she encounters Mr. Wood, a man with the same plans for his own sister. #pemberlittens
Current Read! This is a sweet tale about a couple from the late 30‘s. Quick and entertaining read so far ❤️ The setting is local to where I live, and even mentions a real restaurant that is still in business today. I want to visit!
What does one do with their last few days of freedom before returning to teaching? Find deals on new books, of course 😊🍎✏️
Great book set in the Edwardian Era ❤️
Although I usually choose to read regency fiction, this was a great read! It has a lot to say about grief, commitment, and exploring what it means to respect your family heritage. There‘s also a little plot twist I didn‘t see coming 😮 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think this will be one of my favorite books! It‘s humorous, clever, and subtly romantic. 💐🌷❤️
Okay... this post was all a ploy to show off my new mug. It‘s from my grandmother ❤️💐 #teacherlife
My first time reading this author! I have heard so many positive things, so I have high expectations 🙃 I am enjoying it so far!
The beginning read like a fast paced retelling of Jane‘s acquaintances and youth, but it began to drag as she found herself dealing with writer‘s block, loafing off of her family, and pouting. I just expected my favorite author to be portrayed in a more flattering way, even in her flaws. While I understand that this was part of her life as well, it could have been glossed over to allow more focus on the publication of her novels.
“I am too old to be offended by facts.” ~ George Austen, Just Jane. This is a loose re-telling of Jane Austen‘s life and publication of her novels. However, I think the author captures the essence of her observant nature and astute assessment of human behavior very well.
I finally finished! What a surprise ending... Fanny and Edmund ended up together. Who could have imagined! 🤣😂 All kidding aside, this was an interesting read, and definitely had me pondering what Austen was trying to get at writing such a heroine as Fanny. #pemberlittens
Almost finished reading this monstrosity of a book! Although it‘s not my favorite Austen (shocker), I don‘t think Fanny is as loathesome as some people say. I think Fanny has an admirable sense of self-control considering how abused she has been. While this is a more modern interpretation, I believe this book has a lot to say about anxiety and psychological abuse. #pemberlittens
First time reading this classic!
Fanny is definitely different from other Austen heroines...

Some lighter reads to help me wait for warmer weather... oh, please hurry up, spring! 💐🌸🌺☀️
I recently got this book for a .99 cent deal on Amazon, and I loved it! It was an easy, enjoyable read. I will definitely be looking for more of this author in the future. And what a beautiful cover 😮❤️ #pemberlittens #regencyreads
This is what my week has been like so far... sipping hot chocolate, looking at Christmas lights, and reading a fairytale ❤️ It‘s definitely a cute read that‘s very similar to the movie.
I got this series on kindle. Just started the first in the series! 🤩
Found some beautiful children‘s books at a bookstore today for a dollar. Sorry, but my students won‘t be handling these copies 🙂
The storyline is extremely moving... I‘ve almost found myself close to tears a few times. 😭 Definitely one of my favorite authors!
This is a very cute read so far! 🌻🦋 It will probably be my last book before I go back to teaching in August. I have to enjoy free reading time while I can, right?
I recently started keeping a book log/journal 😊Does anyone else do this?
I‘ve really been getting into these old school books by Grace Livingston Hill. Her heroines are plucky, kind, and smart 🌻.
After a long day of distance learning and work grading, I think I deserved a little treat: a few new books and a cute floral journal 🌹🌻☀️
I can honestly say that I have never taken a #shelfie. It came with the house when my husband bought it!
All of this reading about wedding shopping reminds me of my own experiences 👰 💍 My two year wedding anniversary was about a month ago ❤️
I know that this book is not everyone‘s cup of tea ☕️ but I thought it was extremely unique. The main character has a quality that is very unlikable, yet I found myself rooting for her and enjoying her journey of growth. This is such a colorful, vibrant story.
I definitely have some thoughts about this one! I like it for the most parts, then there are some problems...
Very interesting 🧐 non-fiction book about my home state‘s involvement in the Civil War. It is proving to be very insightful #history
I‘ve somehow gotten back into historical non-fiction mode 🤷♀️It‘s interesting to see all of the artifacts that are included in this book. #nonfiction
Making my first ever apple pie today🥧 to celebrate thanksgiving with my family a little early. Also re-reading one of my favorite Christmas novels. #tistheseason
Cute, sweet, Christmas romance to read surrounded by my (fake) fireplace and Christmas decorations. I‘m a little nutty about Christmas, much like the main character 🤪🎄
I‘m almost to the conclusion of this snowy thriller ❄️ It has a major plot twist 😳
“Trust was an elusive thing, hard to win, easy to lose, and very sensitive to small nuances when it was forming.”
