“It‘s how we survive the hurts in life that brings us strength and gives us our beauty.”
Another low pick for me. It was a sweet, quick read with lots of interesting characters.

What a sweet, wonderful story. CeeCee‘s life in her first 12 years hasn‘t been a very good one. When tragedy strikes and she goes to Savannah to be with her Great Aunt Tootie. CeeCee is introduced to a world unlike any she has known and surrounded by women who teach her about true love, learning to live with loss and finding yourself. An unforgettable cast of characters and a touching read. You will fall in love with these women. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚
Reading this one next for my book club. Everyone else has already started it and is loving it! ❤️📚

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It‘s filled with southern charm and humor . At times I almost cried about Ceecee‘s early life. Other times I laughed out loud.

Oh I really just 💗'd this one! It had all the feels. Perfect way to spend a couple of summer afternoons.

Reading "poolside"while I wait for the water to warm up and the small fry to get up from his nap. Just started Saving CeeCee Honeycutt this afternoon and it's got my eyes leaking!!? Loving this story already.

Hope you had a great weekend.
My aunt gave me this book years ago, but I haven't gotten to it yet. But I love the cover!

I‘ve had this book for years sitting on my shelf. I finally read it with a buddy and we both absolutely loved it! This is a definite island book for me.

1. I do not have a favorite, but I just made this: https://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/03/03/bryannas-vegan-pumpkin-pie/
2. Thankful for getting to go on a walk with in town family today and for the activists and lawmakers who maintain socialist unemployment programs so the unemployed during this pandemic have something to live on right now.

I was digging through our donations pile and found this “review” stuck inside this one 😂😂
I don‘t usually review books I bail on, but I read over half of this before I had to stop or puke. I stopped. This is not Southern fiction. This is some midwestern caricature of Southern fiction. If you want quirky characters you can believe in, read Eudora Welty. There are plenty of well-written books set in the South. Don‘t waste your time on this one.
Sweet story of a girl moving to a new place after a family tragedy. Not a whole lot happens; I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Easy, fast summer read.
A wonderfully funny and sweet read. My only complaint is that it wasn‘t long enough!
My Saturday night is booked

Pretty flower arrangement from this weekends shower and a book my mom gave me from my tbr pile.
If you love southern fiction, this one is for you!
CeeCee is only 12 years old when she is sent to live with her aunt in Savannah in 1967. She spends the summer getting to know her quirky neighbors, while also battling some truths of her own.
I‘ll be honest, I dislike southern fic, so this one wasn‘t my favorite, but a lot of my friends on GR gave it five stars. #honeyhoney #abbainaugust
Thanks for the giveaway @Rachel.Rencher ! I have so many favorite reads but one that I recommend to everyone is Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. I think this is such a fun read. #7daysgiveaway

Starting this one that was given to me by @Reviewsbylola
Funny story - the beginning of this book features a Mom that is a former Vidalia Queen in Georgia. I went to college with a Vidalia Queen (and several Watermelon Queens that were my sorority sisters). I love me some crazy Southern characters, and since this will be set near where I live, I‘m sure I will enjoy!! 👸
Today's Word: WONDERFUL

Day 3 of #RiotGrams is How I Read. This is my most favorite reading chair. Good light options. I can recline. The window is there to open. Close to my books. Plus my coffee is always reachable!
#lyricalapril When trying to come up with #sweetchildomine this was the first book that popped into my head. This is a simple and wonderful book about a sweet girl dealing with her mother's mental illness. While it sounds depressing, it's really quite a heartwarming story.
This was such a warm hearted read. I loved the characters. At times I feared the ending would disappoint me, but I was pleasantly surprised. While the story starts off a bit sad, it was wonderful to see the growth of CeeCee through her journey. This story really highlights mental illness and the affects it can have on families when help is not given. If you are looking for a light and fun read, I would highly recommend this book.
I'm only on page 76, but this is such a heartwarming read. I'm really enjoying it. So glad I picked this up at my library.
Show of hands. How many of you had to Google #bildungsroman? 🙋 Women of this book are definitely #fiestyfeb. CeeCee's story just grabs your heart and won't let go. When asked for my favorite books this one tops my modern books list. It's 2nd on my all time favorite list right after Pride and Prejudice. @RealLifeReading BTW isn't my new teacup beautiful? #junkstorefind #learnedsomethingnew 👠💙📚
This book was such a great and easy read that was uplifting and so sweet while also having moments of intense tragedy. I love the characters specifically and the fact that the book is so centered around love and forming relationships. Beth Hoffman does an amazing job of describing feelings that I thought couldn't be described and has an amazing ability to write about the human heart and condition. 10/10 would recommend this book.
"Don't grow up too fast, darling. Age is inevitable, but if you nurture a childlike heart, you'll never ever grow old."
She leaned her head back and said, "When I was your age, I was full of dreams. My momma used to say if she had a drop of water for every dream I had, we'd be livin' on a houseboat in the middle of a clear blue lake."
"Cecilia Rose, she said, reaching for my hand, "far too many people die with a heart that's gone flat with indifference, and it surely must be a terrible way to go. Life will offer us amazing opportunities, but we've got to be wide-awake to recognize them."
"Everyone needs to find the one thing that brings out her passion. It's what we do and share with the world that matters. It's important that we leave our communities in better shape than we found them."

My favorite books are mostly classics but CeeCee is definitely near top of list. Great Story. Strong Women. 💕 @RealLifeReading #childprotagonist #photoadaynov16 #chaptersinyourlifebook

#worstparent #octphotochallenge these are all horrible mothers. Matilda: you know why. The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That: sure kids! Go to the jibber jabber forest with a strange giant cat! I don't even care! ...what a good mom. Saving CeeCee Honeycutt: this book broke my heart! Extremely Loud: I get the point of the book, but letting your child run around NY all alone, autistic or not, is just not okay!
I discovered SAVING CEECEE HONEYCUTT and its delightful author at one of the many events at my favorite indie bookstore, Fiction Addiction. #getindie
