What a nice story this was. I did the audio version and really liked it. I‘m usually not much for romance novels, but this book was an exception. Most of the characters were likable. The story did have a serious side to it, as it touched on depression and insecurity. I think the author wrote to both of these issues well. I didn‘t realize that this book was part of a series. It does well as a stand alone.

October 23, 2024 Based on how the ending was, I could tell that Emma and Justin were going to be able to make their relationship work. Emma had a hard time with her Mom Amber because her mom had hid the fact that she had a half brother as well as aunts and cousins (all of whom she never met) until Maddy asked if she wanted to find out where she came from and if she had other relatives. Im so happy that Emma and Justin are together forever 😘🥰❤️

October 23, 2024 Page 293-302 What a whirlwind of emotions. Emma really had strong emotions for Justin and Justin shows thay he cares deeply for her, especially when Emma felt sick for three days straight (shown by vomiting) and he sent a friend and his wife, who was a nurse too, to help revive and give her more fluids. She was very dehydrated. Justin did come to her place on a unicorn floatie and helped make her meals to get better faster #love

I recently ordered 3 new books (well new to me) on Amazon and they arrived today. The first one is Yolk by Mary H.K. Choi, the second one is Those Empty Eyes by Charlie Donlea, and the last is The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden. Who is surprised that I got two thrillers??! Not I

October 21, 2024 On page 212. But I found a quote on page 211 that sums up so far how Emma feels about Justin and how she feels towards him. She says, "Do I like him? Yes. Am I attracted to him? Also yes. Did he sort of ask me today to stay in Minnesota longer? He did. But his lifestyle is not for me. It's not a fit..."

A fun rom-com read with some truly laugh out loud moments 4 🌟

October 19, 2024 Late to the game on reading this book. IkIk I have wanted to read this book but was in a reading slump - we all have those! Back into reading it and have been liking it. It is pretty sad at the part I am on because Emma is not getting the kiss that she was expecting from Justin. Justin said he had two more chances to give her a real kiss. This one time (page 188-189) he gives her a kiss on the forehead. FOREHEAD not on the lips

Honestly felt it was kinda insta lovey and a bit too long.

This one lived up to the hype! Great romance with interesting characters and depth! The Midwesterner in me loved the representation of our Minnesotan neighbors to the north!

This book was entertaining, I‘ll give it that. I‘m not really into romance, but I just felt the urge to read something out of my norm. Anyway, the story was extremely predictable, but it still had me laughing here and there. The further the story went on the more I disliked Emma, but still hoped she would grow on me. I‘m not really sure what to expect from this genre, but it just seemed overly cheesy for my taste.

Another pick from this author 🤓 I enjoyed the narration & love how Jimenez tied this in with the other books in the series.

My family and I had dinner on the lake this evening, and I couldn‘t help but to think about this book and the views the characters are taking in. I‘m a Chicagoan, born and bred, but I have to admit that Minnesota is GORGEOUS in the summer!

August 24, 2024 It was back on July 15, 2024 that I began reading this book. I finally picked it up again and have been enjoying it. On page 100 and i can tell how sad it is.

Another fabulous Jimenez book! I love how she writes flawed but real characters that you just wanna root for. And Justin has made my list of book boyfriends. 🤣

I think it‘s official - I have a new must-read author in Jimenez and a new favorite audiobook narrator in Zachary Webber.
Yours Truly is my favorite from this series, but this one is not far behind. I‘ll definitely be recommending this author/series!

Abby Jimenez is becoming one of my favourite romance writers super quickly. This was beautifully written, really sweet and meaningful, and I loved how much detailed thought had gone into making an MC with real issues to work through that she worked on on a reasonable timeline as part of a sweet and supportive relationship.

I haven't done #twofortuesday in ages but I'm trying to get back into reading to help me stay sane through my masters dissertation so here we are! @thespineview

1. Definitely a podcast - I listen to a million podcasts and I've never really watched tv talk shows so I think I'd definitely be better at podcasting. I was a guest on one once actually so I have some skills already!

2. Tagging a summer romance I'm loving and keen to finish

It‘s been a long time since a book made me cry, and in not even done. The narrators for this audio are great, especially the MMC.

Perfect read for the last week of our Summer. So excited to read it but sad Summer is coming to an end…AND my last TBR of Abby‘s☹️!!!! 👙☀️💗

Very excited about my picks for this month! Tagged book is my #bookspin and Jimenez hasn‘t let me down yet. And you can‘t go wrong with a Christie mystery, so my #doublespin should be good too. ☀️😃

I seem to only get to 2 out of 3 of my #Roll100 books each month.🤷🏻‍♀️This is roll #3 for July “any BOTM.” I loved the first 2 books in the Part of Your World series & the 2nd book is still my favorite- but this one was good too. I like the way Jimenez writes characters with heart & humor & I really enjoy the “Easter Eggs” she puts in her books with past characters showing up/being mentioned. A great summer read.

Okay so I got to the chapter and thought NNNNOOOOO … then it was yyyeeesss and end of story… you have to love Abby Jimenez for how she puts a story together… loved it

Entertaining enough—perfect for a lazy summer afternoon of reading—but I don‘t know if it will linger now that I‘ve finished it. Not bad, just nothing stands out.

Loved this! Family trauma, mental health struggles, and some great characters. Devoured this over the weekend, couldn‘t put it down!

This could have been a fun but with purpose five star rom com but fell flat to me & is a low pick. Both Emma & Justin are grappling with big issues, parental dramas and general trauma to the extent that their story feels heavy under the weight. Justin is more well rounded but seems to be written to be a bit try to hard on the quirky- dog named after his best friend, surveys for dates etc. ticks of my season in the title prompt for #readthedate

July 15, 2024 Which one should I pick for my next TBR? Im stuck between another summer read (as it is summer still) and a memoir by Rebel Wilson. I will tell you that I am a sucker for memoirs, only if the celebrity is worth reading about and if the story is personal and shares photos of the celebrity at a young age. sigh decisions decisions haha I may start the memoir tbh

Jiminez always does a fantastic job melding hard truths and traumatic experiences with romance, and this novel is no different.
Justin is a fantastic book boyfriend and perfect older brother and caretaker to his siblings. Emma‘s relationship with all of them is beyond sweet and had me tearing up several times.
I have to go back and read Part of Your World and Yours Truly as characters from those books make an appearance in this one.

So good. 🤩 The epitome of a great summer read! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really liked my second Jimenez book even though it is quite a bit heavier than Yours Truly.

Lots of family trauma for both main characters, but it was written with care and sensitivity.

In reading the q&a at the end, I learned that Jimenez brings in lots of characters from her previous books. I think I might have squealed when Benny popped up 😄

This is only my second read by Abby Jimenez, but I love how her romances feel really authentic and multifaceted. Justin and Emma‘s story captured my heart (and made me laugh)! I‘m realizing I should have read these books in order since they‘re slightly interconnected… but now I‘m looking forward to reading Alexis and Daniel‘s story last to complete the “Part of Your World” series! 🎧

The entire story revolved around trauma. So much sabotage and instantaneity.
I wouldn't say there's a lot summer vibes...

It was a good one! Sweet romance, solid friendship, but also a deep dive into childhood trauma. Mixed bag but it worked. Just a smidgen too long for me, but otherwise pretty perfect. Mild mature content.

Loved both the hero and the heroine, both such good people 💕

3rd IRL book club was so much fun! 💖🫶🏻💫

Labeling this a romance feels…odd. The over arching themes here are mental health and complicated family dynamics. Being in a healthy relationship won‘t magically fix your life and a lot of the cute elements in this are straight up codependent and not believable. My heart goes out to poor BFF Maddy — where is her gold medal for being a side character in all this? 🤔😂🤷🏻‍♀️

This was a great read — an interesting premise, and a more than fun follow through. I LOVED how the characters communicated openly and honestly with each other, and that the problems they had were real, situational or deep-rooted issues that had to be thoughtfully worked on and resolved. All the characters were well drawn and enjoyable, funny and relatable, and all too human. Really enjoyed this!

I loved everything about this book. It's my favorite of the year so far ❤️ and the first Abby Jimenez book I've read (I'm sad to admit) so I have purchased all her others. My summer reading plan made. 🤓

This book was so sweet.
I couldn't put it down. I loved Emma and Justin.
I love how they both actually talked to each other. There wasn't that annoying feeling of me wanting to shake them and tell them to just talk.
I wasn't expecting that specific fallout.

I hadn't realized it was part of a series when I first picked it up. I'm so so so happy there is more to read!

Starting in on my third pick for my IRL book club. Romance is not my usual fare and I‘ve got plenty of dark/horror lined up for June so…we‘ll see. This has some pretty stellar reviews everywhere I look. 🤷🏻‍♀️🫖☕️

I'm only 20 pages into this and laughing pretty hard. That's a good sign. 🤣🙃
