Pick for MS/YA reluctant readers. Over-the-top plot with blind rich girl inadvertently kidnapped by teen car thief. Sounds ridiculous, but cliffhangers are so much fun for some younger readers. Good examples of think alouds as MC tries to get away plus she slips in some good messages about reading. Kids who wonder about what it might be like to be blind might also like some of the conversations MC has with kidnapper. Ends with a cliffhanger too.

Love her style, not for me, but for middle grade & YA kids who have never liked a book. I handed her books out to so many reluctant readers who ate up her characters & crazy implausible plots.🤩

As much as it saddens me, I'm gonna bail on this one. I REALLY wanted to enjoy it. The only thing that kept me reading til 2am was the solid character development and how fast-paced the story was. But Henry's child-like writing, plus the unrealistic dialogues and scenarios were just too much for me to handle right now. I do like how our protagonist is smart and strong despite her blindness and disability. Will finish before the year ends.

This book was ok i usually don‘t read these types of books but I did because it was interesting I loved how the author made the characters and the story. I would recommend this to a teen for a great mystery book.
