From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella A scientist should never cohabitate with her annoyingly hot nemesisit leads to combustion. Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn As an environmental engineer, Mara knows all about the delicate nature of ecosystems. They require balance. And leaving the thermostat alone. And not stealing someone elses food. And other rules Liam, her detestable big-oil lawyer of a roommate, knows nothing about. Okay, sure, technically shes the interloper. Liam was already entrenched in his aunts house like some glowering grumpy giant when Mara moved in, with his big muscles and kissable mouth just sitting there on the couch tempting respectable scientists to the dark sidebut Helena was her mentor and Maras not about to move out and give up her inheritance without a fight. The problem is, living with someone means getting to know them. And the more Mara finds out about Liam, the harder it is to loathe himand the easier it is to love him. To read Sadie and Hannahs stories look for the novellas Stuck with You and Below Zero, coming soon from Berkley!

Decent story with a predictable story. Enemy to lovers trope & I thought it ended quickly.

🎧 I like the narrator more than the story. This novella is another woman in STEM + large hot man offering. There‘s some forced proximity, social awkwardness, and some miscommunication (very annoying). Was the story kind of meh for me? Yes. Will I listen to the others in the series? Probably 🤷🏽‍♀️

I‘ve read at least two other Hazelwood novels but not sure if they are all part of a series…Cute-Mara and Liam begin as rivals/roommates of a house bequeathed to both. Predictable but clever, for audioscrapbooking 🥳

🎧 The first STEMinist novella & the best of the bunch.

3 scientist girlfriends, 3 fun stories.

This one involves Mara the redhead. Liam‘s aunt leaves him & Mara her awesome old home. Mara is an eco scientist & Liam is a big-oil lawyer.

Enemies to lovers.

This was a fast read!! It was okay, wasn't my favorite from this author. I liked the characters. I felt like the author could have worked more out with the characters and made this a full novel would have been good. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

This STEMinist novella is about Mara being forced to live in the house as grumpy giant Liam through an inheritance. At first, they loathe each other, but through their forced proximity, that starts to change during their year together.

This one is my favorite of the trilogy. I loved the couple; they were hilarious & adorable together. The separate time frames were a fantastic build up to the end.

Gah, I love Ali Hazelwood! Steamy and funny (as per her usual) in bite-sized novella form. I feel like some folks think that Hazelwood is a one trick pony - "slightly awkward but wicked smart woman in STEM has witty banter and super steamy chemistry with a former arch nemesis", but to me that feels no different than the historical romance "fell in love with a Duke" schtick that I also love, so it doesn't bother me one bit ? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Super cute!! I loved it for its novella length (3hr 38min) and I loved it because it made me laugh. This is an enemies-to-lovers story featuring two unrelated people who have *both* inherited half of the same house. I especially loved that even though Mara had awful behavior in the beginning, she realized she was wrong and said so. Liam was so dreamy. Very nicely done! Emma Wilder narrates perfectly.

Ali Hazelwood writes a cute romance. The characters in this one are fairly reminiscent of The Love Hypothesis, but it was still a fun little romp. I enjoyed the quick pace and the relationship had me in a I don't want to put this down situation. There isn't a full development of the plot or characters, but it's a novella so I let that slide just a little. It was just a fun little treat of a book.

Nice! Enemies to lovers under one roof. I think a lot is missing because it‘s just a novella, but it‘s still a fun read. Love, love, love the Ace representation but not a fan of evasive talk during sex and STD questions.

Mara has inherited half a house but her first meeting with Liam, who owns the other half, was antagonistic - but they secretly have the hots for each other. She has a doctorate in environmental engineering and he‘s a high flying lawyer but they‘re bonding over ‘The Bachelorette‘. The prologue is set in the present, then the chapters start at 6 months ago but are narrated in the present tense, in first person

Recently read these two Ali Hazelwood novellas, they were perfectly cute and I loved them ! Both of the male antagonists are "grumpy sunshines," the women each are making their way in STEM careers and have actual modern friendships with each other , just overall satisfying stories! Thank you @britt_brooke for telling me about them!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Upon the death of a beloved mentor, environmental engineer Mara inherits half of an incredible house; the other half is owned/occupied by nephew of said mentor. Anyone smell a set up?? Forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers. You know the drill. It‘s a cute, funny novella set in Hazelwood‘s #STEMinist backdrop. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Ali Hazelwood‘s out here putting the STEM in steam, and I‘m here for it every time! In this audio-novella, environmental engineer Mara and big oil-lawyer Liam find themselves sharing her late mentor/his aunt‘s grand old home after her will is read. Instant enemies + forced proximity = a super spicy happily ever after. The only thing that gave me pause is these protagonists have exactly the same body types as the ones in Love Hypothesis.

This read like a first draft.

Mara might have a PhD, but she's self-centered and not very bright. She's unable to read a single clue from her interactions with Liam. Example, she catches him stating at her butt and wonders whether he's judging her choice of too small shorts, or whether her underwear is showing... Never once does she even remotely think he might be checking her out.

#AestheticallyMatched #ReadingChallenge @Clwojick

julesG Liam is a man of few words. Very tall, huge muscles, very handsome. Did I mention he's tall? And muscular? Wish we got to see more of him: still waters and so on. Also, I really really wanted to know what's behind that thing he says while they are both hot and bothered - I'm not okay with this being glossed over, this bomb needed to be defused not buried under kisses and sex. 3y

This audiobook is pure joy. It details the enemies to lovers journey unintentional roommates Liam and Mara make. I loved how the prologue opens with them finally acknowledging their feelings and then the book itself starts from the beginning and counts down to that moment. It's a super short, super fun read.

This was fun enough but I actually would have liked it to be longer. I was annoyed with Mara based on some of the antagonistic parts and I think more space would have built the tension better. It was fun to have the story contained within the forced proximity—even as I was itching for telloffs of Mara‘s boss.

After how much I loved The Love Hypothesis last year, I was excited to snag this first entry in her new STEMinist novella series, and I wasn‘t disappointed! Kind of an unfair criticism for a novella, but I just wish this one had been a little bit longer! The enemies-to-friends-to-lovers trajectory worked perfectly, but the story ends abruptly with them finally getting together. The epilogue was extremely underwhelming as a resolution. #Swoonathon

Ugh. It was adorable and I loved it. One of my favorite things was that even though it was an enemies to lovers, he never undermined her as a woman. Bless that he respected her smart brain even if they butted heads.

Thank you to Libro.fm for the audiobook.

This is a forced proximity tale between two people on opposite sides of the environmentalist debate, and I don't know if it is fanfic, I'll leave that for the people who care. Her stories are solid and enjoyable without knowing that context. #romantsy

ReadingEnvy I loved The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood even if I completely missed that it was Star Wars fanfic. Under One Roof is the first of The STEMinista Novellas that will come first to audio (February 8) and then to print (not until May.) I like the idea of audio first but this narrator (Emma Link) is one of those female narrators who ends every sentence in a whisper and it's so annoying! It looks like each novella has its own voice. 3y
GondorGirl Ooo! I hadn't heard about these yet. Thanks for the heads up! 3y
