A book based on sibling dynamic of the two sisters. Story about Ramona messing up beezus life and at the end of the day they love each other because they are siblings and start to accept each other
A sibling dynamic and how they are different but still care for one another.
In the perspective of the older sister. Talks about the typical older-younger sister dynamic.
This is a cute book that focuses on a sibling relationship. I related to this book so much when reading about the jealousy and annoyance the siblings were feeling. Despite the fighting these sisters clearly have love for each other. This is a sweet and humorous book that anyone with siblings can relate to.
4.5⭐️ I really enjoyed the book. Of all the books in the series, this is the one book that I don‘t have the most memories of reading. It was funny and a great story. #2022 #fiction #middlegrade #childrenslit #bookreview #bookstagram

Ramona is a terror and Beezus is kind of annoying, but it‘s all believable. My mom read the series to us as kids, and she read this with my kid via Skype in summer 2020, but I think this is my first time reading it myself. A lot of family sayings came from this (“is the witch done yet?” was a big one), and now I know that!
Beezus wishes you a Happy #DEAR

Can we have take your dog to work day? I had to return to work this evening, and couldn't crate this for another minute.
Very nostalgic as I must have read this over a dozen times as a kid. How could I forget the story was told from Beezus‘s POV? And just like Ramona did in the story and as a little sister is apt to do, she goes on and makes herself the focus not only in this book but the rest of the series. Lol🤣 Some of my earliest reading memories are of this series. ❤️
Awe.. I remember how much I loved these when I was younger and... they are still super adorable! I love them!! My #BookSpin this month was to “reread an old favorite“ and I am super glad that I picked this one!

Hands down one of my most favorite authors. I‘ve read the Ramona books with my 8 year old and she loved them. Rest easy ma‘am, rest easy.

The missing two Ramona books ARE in this house somewhere but I can‘t find them. RIP Beverly Cleary. 😢
Beverly Cleary‘s stories started my love for reading. What an impact she has had on me and now my kids! May she Rest In Peace.
Oh. This one stings, despite an incredibly long, fruitful life. Thank you, Ms. Cleary. 💔
One of my very favorite authors ever. So sad to hear this news. 😢
What a funny book about two sisters! I know my younger daughter loved books about Ramona. Luckily she didn‘t get into as much trouble, but her older sister probably still thought she was a pest! Anyway, it is a great read for sisters. It was also published in the decade I was born. You can tell because in the illustrations Mom & Beezus both wear 50‘s dresses! #100YEARS100BOOKS #BookSpinBingo #15 #BFC21 #MGMarch #MarvellousMarch
I was a Ramona, sower of chaos and imagination, as a child, but I had no Beezus to keep me in check. I loved these books back then. I also loved the 80s TV series with Sarah Polley as Ramona. ⬆️ (She later showed up in one of my favorite 90s movies, Go.) I may have to get audible‘s set of the Ramona books. Stockard Channing does an excellent job narrating the #audiobook.
A lovely bedtime story!
Ramona Quimby is one of the more memorable and recognisable character in children‘s chapter books. She‘s active, loves excitement, and has brilliant creative energy!

1. I played soccer in kindergarten, rugby for a bit in college, and I'm an occasional runner and cyclist. I don't follow sports but I come from a family of amateur boxers and football players and my spouse and his family of origin are big football fans, so those sports continue to be part of my life despite my misgivings about them.
2. Low FODMAP diets and winter squash.

I love that I have only just discovered this series, so they are new for both Beatrix and me, rather than something I have already read to Polly. I am amazed at how naughty Ramona is. I can see Beatrix thinking about it and wondering whether Polly sometimes feels the same way about her as Beezus feels about Ramona (their age difference is similar). I have already ordered the next three in the series to go on with.
Somehow, I never read any of these books when I was a kid. This seems like a fine time to change that.
This RF novel focuses on 9-year-old Ramona as she has trouble with getting along with younger sister, Beezus. She finds her very annoying. This would be a fun book for SR and would keep students engaged. One UDL & EL strategy is activate or supply background knowledge (3.1) & 34. De-emphasize speed and emphasize accuracy of work. I had to pick as many tomatoes as possible yesterday, because when I was letting the dogs out in the morning I caught a squirrel out in a tomato pot and when I went out onto the deck, I found a whole pile of tomatoes - all with one bite out of them. Somebody thinks she's Ramona Quimby. 😂
“Beatrice, or Beezus (as everyone called her, because that was what Ramona has called her when she first learned to talk), knew other nine-year-old girls who had little sister who went to nursery school, but she did not know anyone with a little sister like Ramona.”
A great chapter book for children to be able to relate to. Many children have siblings that, a lot of the time, they don‘t get along with. I think children would really enjoy this book for that reason.
Genre: Contemporary Realistic Fiction
I remember reading this book when I was a child, and absolutely loved it. This is a book that I could definitely relate to as a child; me and my sister have exact opposite personalities. However, no matter how many fights we got in, we always loved and cared for each other.
Happy 103rd birthday to Beverly Cleary! Her books made me a reader and they are still enjoyable many years after I first read them.
Beatrice Quimby‘s biggest problem was her little sister Ramona. Beatrice, or Beezus (as everyone called her, because that was what Ramona had called her when she first learned to talk), knew other nine-year-old girls who had little sisters who went to nursery school, but she did not know anyone with a little sister like Ramona. #QuotsyApr19 #sibling
Loved reading this with my 6 year old, who became a big sister last year and gets exasperated with her little brother when he gets into her things!! Beverly Cleary is timeless and her books are a right of passage. Book 9 of 2019
Stockard Channing‘s performance of this narration is a hoot! 😁🙌🏻 She gives each character such a uniquely animated and entertaining voice that it really brought this adorable story of sibling rivalry to life. I ❤️ Ramona! Now I have to listen to the entire series.
Does anyone else remember watching The Stockard Channing Show way back when? 🤔
I am very excited to start this collection with my six-year-old. And I am a little more excited now that I see who is reading this!
Love revisiting some of my childhood favorites with my 10 year old. She enjoys them as much as I did!
I am delighted by how much I loved this book. The only Ramona book I read growing up was Ramona and her Father, which I thought was okay. I‘m glad I revisited this in audio— Stockard Channing is a great reader (loved the voices for everyone but Henry Huggins) and I see so many Ramonas each week at the library 😉

I don't do #Audiobooks atm but my commutes contain a lot of bookish listening, mainly #BookishPodcasts! I wanted to use this to tell you guys about the fairly new @ssrpod - Sustained Silent Reading OR Shit She Read 😂
It's a weekly discussion about well-known books we bookworms love and reminisce about from our childhood and teen years. The most recent episode is about the Ramona Quimby series ❤️
Episode 18 of my podcast is a total sister act! Guest Penny Luksic and I break down all the antics and arguments of OG sister sister duo Beezus and Ramona Quimby in our conversation about the first book in Beverly Cleary‘s beloved series. Penny and I share our own sibling experiences, chat about the lack of diversity in books of this era (written in 1955!), and debate which of Ramona‘s pesty antics is most annoying. link to listen in bio! 🎧
My own dramatic child is lying on the couch with her tragically sore throat, watching Beezus & Ramona for the umpteenth time.
She‘s read the whole series to pieces too. Sometimes I think she relates to Ramona just a bit much. 🤣
