Annie, the main character, loves Thursday‘s and has a restaurant with her husband. A beautiful story written by R.J Palacio that can inspire your students to be kind to one another. This novel can be used as RA and LC in your classroom. Auggie,the main character in the novel, has face deformities who is finally going to school after being homeschooled for several years. He is scared and there are some challenges. This book has won the New York Times Best seller.

The story unfolds to Henry eventually finding a friend who accepts him for he is. This book won the Schneider Family Book Award Honor Book. It covers inclusion and the important message of being kind to one another.

Agavitt1 I read this for one of my reviews as well and it made me remember how it actually got me thinking of how we should treat others as a small child. Obviously, it‘s about a tree but it does make one think you should treat others well, and therefor I agree with you that it‘s an excellent book to share with students! 5y

The Book Hog is a MF book by Greg Pizzoli. This incredible RA and S book won the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor this year 2020! The Book Hog who is a cute and sweet pig who collects all of these books but unfortunately he couldn‘t read them. A sweet librarian named Miss Olive offered to read all the books that The Book Hog had.

I think you could use this book in the classroom to make world connections. For example, have the students take a tour of the school and write down the beautiful things they see. Or have them keep a journal to jot down what they see on the way home from school or on the weekends. You could help them understand the beauty of our world! 5y
