I‘m reading If It Bleeds for #LosersClub. It‘s another Stephen King book that I‘ve had since it was first released but never read. I‘m taking this opportunity to finally read it.

Started first story. Mr Harriman‘s Phone. I‘ll keep you posted on progress.
I picked up this book because one of the four short stories includes my favorite character Holly Gibney. Her story did not disappoint! There were two that I found really good and one that left me a little confused. Overall it‘s worth the read!
I loved it. I am always a sucker for a good horror novel and this book was fantastic. He describes in detail everything that happens in each of the stories so well that I can mentally take myself there. He also makes you think. I like how he takes a potential real life scenario and turns it into a nightmare to be read about!
I‘m posting one book per day from my ever-increasing TBR. No description. No explanation. Just books to read. Join the fun if you want.
Day 33.

I am on the 3rd story in this book and all I gotta say is "WOW!" This is Stephen King at his best! I wont spoil it but this book is a must read for horror fans!
I have started these all this calendar year. I want to tie up loose ends and finish by the end of the year. My brain is mush and I can‘t decide which one to tackle first.
Just finished reading the first short story in this book, "Mr. Harrigan's Phone." It makes you wonder just how addicted people really are to technology and what lengths they will go to use it to benefit themselves. I'm not too sure I'd be keen on keeping in touch with a dead man via cell phone....
This was a great collection from King 🖤 61pts
Mr. Harrigan's Phone is a creepy story about the first generation IPhone.
The Life of Chuck is a weird tale about a man named Chuck and his retirement.
If It Bleeds features Holly from the Mr. Mercedes book & a supernatural feature like the Outsider.
Rat a story about the difficulties of writing a novel.

Finally got my hands on a copy! I love Stephen King! And just in time for Halloween too
Great stories all, some better than others. Rat was a great concept, a writer‘s fairy tale. And If It Bleeds was a really welcome follow up to The Outsider and Holly who was one of those sneaky minor characters that takes over the spotlight. You don‘t need to have read The Outsiders to read it but if you have read it, it‘s like coming home to see your best friend.
From Rat. Good recommendations for some more short story reading! I love when King slips recommendations into his stories.
I read this for #AuthoraMonth. I also read it because it‘s SK and I hadn‘t read it yet. Plus it‘s October. 🕸🕷😽😽. I almost always enjoy his novellas and short stories, and I enjoyed these.
5 stars for the 2nd of 4 stories, The Life of Chuck. Interesting structure moving from the end backwards to reveal the background after you are hooked into the story. Plus a unique concept and a chilling opening section. Hard to explain without spoiling it (or capture favorite quotes so leaving those in Goodreads) but worth picking up the book just for this story. Just saw the surprise waiting on the cover too.
I‘ve wanted to start this for some time now. IF IT BLEEDS. Looking forward to it 😊. #ifitbleeds. #stephenking. #reading. #uk. Has anyone else read it?
I believe you hear a click, not in your head but in your soul, when you find the place where you belong. You can ignore it, but really, why would you?
A very good collection of stories. One of the things I love about Stephen King: he builds the world, makes you interested in the characters, then the twist slowly creeps in. Holly Gibney continues to fascinate in the title story. I thoroughly enjoyed The Life of Chuck. Very cool concept. I found Mr. Hannigan's Phone to be more sweet than creepy. Rat kinda puttered out, but really gripped my attention pre-rat reveal.
4 solid stars for this one!
Stephen King can often be long-winded in his novels, so I find his novellas refreshing. I really liked Mr. Harrigan's Phone, pretty creepy stuff. I found The Life of Chuck rather blah, it was okay. My personal favorite was The Rat. I also really enjoyed Steven Weber's narration on this one.
#bookspinbingo digital read complete! @TheAromaofBooks
Overall this was an enjoyable collection of novellas (I didn't read the main story If It Bleeds since it's a sequel to The Outsider, which i haven't read).
Each story is written with King's signature style and competence, but honestly i feel like it was over hyped. If these stories had been written by a no name author though, I don't think they would have gotten anywhere near the same attention.
7/10
Anyone else agree with me, or am I crazy?
Another digital library hold became available today! I will be starting this one shortly.

Enjoy!
While he is often best known for his longer works, the novella is, in my opinion, where Stephen King does his best work. This collection features four novellas. The title one is a follow-up and sort of sequel to The Outsider and brings back one Holly Gibney. I found "The Life of Chuck" to be the most satisfying and poignant. The other 2 follow tropes of some classic horror tales but King brings fresh life and imagination into them.
I only liked the first short story. The rest I felt were rushed especially If It Bleeds. All the short stories are amazing ideas that I felt Stephen King could have wrote into full on novels. I love Stephen King but im just not a fan of short stories.🙁 I hate that they end so quickly!
My next book! #stephenking #numberonefan #nala #bribedherwithtreats #bookspin #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
Every year for my birthday, my husband buys me books. This is what I look forward to the most because I‘m always anxious to see what he‘s picked out. This was my bday haul this year. My friend said, “It goes 🔪, 🔪, 🌸!” 😆

My bingo board is complete! One square is somewhat blank because my #onceuponabookclub box hasn‘t arrived yet so I don‘t know the title. One says cozy mystery, I have a stack of them and I‘ll take one off the top. Posted title is my #bookspin and the Summer We Lost Her is my #doublebookspin #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
I loved each of these stories 💚
This collection is a great example of the diversity of King's writing, and I was excited to have Holly back for a story too.
If you haven‘t read the Bill Hodges trilogy/The Outsider (like me), hold off on reading the title story b/c there are spoilers. I listened to this while crocheting & sometimes I would just stop to listen. This collects 4 novellas from King and they‘re delightful, spooky, eerie, vintage King. If you‘re a fan of his, you‘ll dig this too, Constant Reader. ❤️📚I got frustrated w/ Madison, so I‘m using this for my #ReadYourSign prompt 1 for ♉️
Every story in this book reinforced why I love Stephen King. Each one was so much fun. Mr. Harrington‘s Phone was creepy. I loved the twist in The Life of Chuck; it made me think. Rat was clever and brought to mind that the main character, a writer and English professor, really should have known the outcome based on all available literature. Finally, I loved getting to visit with Holly Gibney and the Robinson family in If It Bleeds.
Stephen King's short stories are remarkably put together. There is a lot to unpack in just a few pages. The author is largely labeled under the horror genre umbrella, but his characters are complicated and introspective. The stories are rich and fat with promise and fans of Holly Gibney will not be disappointed.
1. Books of course! Starting with the tagged book which I hope to read in June.
2. Tea. Cold and sweet please for this southern girl.
3. Chocolate, always chocolate. 🍫😋

So so soooo very enjoyable. *swoon* King demonstrates his continued mastery of short stories with 4 different tales of horror. I laughed, I cried, I was left wanting more in the best way possible. 4.5 stars. 🖤😻📖 #bookswithbohemianyogini
Spent Mother's Day morning laying in bed and finishing this wonderful collection of 4 novellas by my all-time favorite author. They were all very different, but I loved them all! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Okay, so Stephen King is my favorite author so I may be(meaning I really am) biased about his work. That being said I loved these stories and they have given me so much joy this last week when things have been looking down for me. They are well written and very engaging. Loved the ride yet again.
My book haul came in from @FountainBookstore . Have to do my part to support my local indie book store during the plague. That's my excuse for buying more books and I'm sticking to it! So excited!

Finally!! I preordered this but with the virus stuff it was delayed.
Happy Sunday littens! I'm hoping you're having a fun filled reading day ?
I picked up this little gem at Walmart yesterday and dove right into "The Life of Chuck". Wow and wow....so f---ing good! This would make anybody who is not a Stephen King fan, a fan ?
What are you all reading?

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories/novellas from King. Each story brings something different to the table but for me Mr. Harrigan‘s Phone and Rat are the ones that will probably stick with me. They have that wonderful underlying vibe of creep and eerie that King excels at achieving. Of course, I loved getting more of Holly and Jerome-they have a special place in my heart. I struggled a bit with The Life of Chuck. Overall great book.
