Well, this one starts off with a bang! Love the characters to include the secondary ones! I love how we jump straight into the story with this one!

I have read the first 5 of the Black Butler manga (still looking out for the others in the series) and loved the anime Kuroshitsuji, especially the little chibi versions at the end of the episodes 😂

This is my pick for #OminousOctober #Black

That Sebastian is one hell of a butler 😉

Velvetfur I'm wanting to get back into reading Manga again, I think I last read some Manga in the mid-90s!! This series looks like it might be a good place to start 😊 2y

Here we start another case, which feels a bit slow and not as comical as the others but I still really liked it. We meet Prince Soma and Agni, learn about some British-India history, Hinduism, Soma learns a lesson from Ciel, and we get another glimpse at Ciel's dark past. Let the competition begin in the next volume!! Maybe I should take notes as well 🤤🤤 #awesomeaugust @andrew65

Wow that took half my work day! But finally finished up the first volume and it's just as fun, wacky, and dark as the first time I read it, loved it 😍😍 Also, I'm just realizing how little actually happened, we only got one case solved! And I hadn't realized how the first anime episode is...not here?! It was a lie!! 😆😆 One down, nine to go!

Andrew65 Looks fun. 4y
phantomx @crimson613 I remember it took me awhile to finish the 1st volume of Black Butler...like years ago 4y
coffees @phantomx Oh no! Did you not like it? 4y
phantomx I did like it, but for some unexplainable reason I didn't continue reading it. But it is a series I'll get back to 4y
coffees @phantomx ahh, well I hope you keep liking it when you decide to pick it up again, I've reread it a couple of times but it's been awhile since I've read it (maybe a year or two?? Lol) so I thought I'd reread it 😊 4y

Anothet part about the manga I really like is that we actually see Ciel's Funtom company products and see his "bold business expansion practices". I don't think it gets much of a spotlight on the anime, and I just love the art for it!! Maybe I should watch some #blackbutler, never got into the mini-arcs like the Zombie one or Murder Mystery one ??

OMG I LOVE THIS 😂😂 It's sad it wasn't in the anime, this childish side of Ciel that likes to pick on Sebastian, like yeah he might be the head of the Phantomhive household but he's also just a kid #awesomeaugust @andrew65

Post # 2: I‘ve watched this anime more than twice lol. I decided to read the books after. If you like books that have action and slight fantasy in it. Then you‘ll like this one. The drawings were slightly different than the anime. And there were a few scenes which weren‘t in the anime. I really enjoyed being able to hear the first few episodes again without having to watch it. I definitely liked this book and it‘s now time to go read volume 2!

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Maiya! I was left wondering what it was about as your summary was lacking! Keep up the good work. 5y

This was generally a good graphic novel, so if you love historical fiction and lots of paranormal, this is the book for you. This book is about the young 13 year old boy named Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler Sebastian. Ciel at the age of 10 was kidnapped and his parents killed. To survive and get his revenge he makes a deal with a demon, to make his wish come true the demon asked for Ciels soul in return,Then he will be in hell for eternity.

MissYaremcio Well done Evan! Make sure you add in all details of the assignment next time (you were just missing the tone)!

A small manga haul! I've already seen the anime for both of these but I really just want a read I know I will enjoy, and I'm curious to see any difference there may be.

TricksyTails I've yet to watch the entire anime but have read most of the Black Butler manga. The artwork is 😍 7y

This took an interesting turn at the the end. It was entertaining and a little weird, but I can't wait to see where the series goes! Maybe I'll check out the anime.

Toboso packs the first volume of BLACK BUTLER with a good mix of absurdity, affection, and darkness. I like the supporting characters and I'm eager to see how the leads' arrangement plays out, so I wasted no time in requesting the second volume.

MarriedtoMrT I've been meaning to read this forever but somehow haven't picked it up yet. One day... 7y

Playing catch up on #MayBookFlowers posts!

These are some of my #BlackAndWhiteCovers both of which are manga series. ☺️

Some great characters in these! I am only on volume 5 of black butler, but Sebastian is one hell of a butler. Deathnote is an amazing series, but the ending fell a little flat for me. So anticlimactic 😔

Billi Agreed, Sebastian is one hell of a butler! 👌🏻 8y
LadyPotterHead I've been thinking of buying the death note box set, so would you recommend it? 8y
Bookworm54 @MyBookZleeves definitely! It's a great crime story 🙂 and I LOVE Ryuk 🍎🍏 8y
LadyPotterHead @Bookworm54 oh right, great 👍🏼 I've seen the movie but that was years ago but because you send the ending was anticlimactic I thought I'll ask 👍🏼 8y
Bookworm54 @MyBookZleeves just compared to the rest of the series. It seemed like such a shame to end it as they did. Though I see why they did it :) 8y

🌟I love when books are set in London or Victorian London. I also love it when characters in books travel to a lot of places, but especially when they go to London as one of the places! One day I hope to visit London. That's number 1 on my bucket list! What is your fave book city?🌟

Amandajoy I love London too! Or Paris! 8y
AngelErin @Amandajoy Paris is a good one too!! Love it ❤️! 8y
Laura317 London is hands down my favorite city! Followed by Changsha. 8y

AngelErin @Laura317 That's awesome! I want to go there so bad. I've never heard of Changsha. Where is that? 8y
Laura317 It's in China. Of the cities we got to see while we were there (twice for adoption), Changsha was my favorite. 8y
AngelErin @Laura317 Oh okay. That's so cool! 😀 8y
RadicalReader @AngelErin clockwork Angel sound phenomenal just from the title alone. Love when simply a title gets you interested in reading. Love even more with Litsy you're able to see the description of book by typing in the name 8y
AngelErin @RadicalReader It's a great book! That whole series is fantastic. One of my faves. 😀 8y

#somethingforsept #septemberphotochallenge #day4 #POC

I struggled with this one. At least in the sense of variety, as most of my POC collection seems to be part of a series.

I also own TokyoPop's Fruitsbasket with matching covers (currently in storage). This may not seem a big achievement, but there are 23 books and they went out of print a while back. If anyone can appreciate the effort that went into getting this set it's my fellow Littens 🙂

I think the most interesting part of this for me was seeing how the English aristocracy is portrayed to a Japanese audience. Decent start to the story and I will likely continue on with the series.

I just couldn't care about anyone or anything in this manga.

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled My 12 year old daughter is obsessed with this. And the TV show. 😖 8y
LauraBrook @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled.com I know, so many people at obsessed w both the book and show, but I just didn't get it. I'll try the show this afternoon. Usually I love Victorian things, and stuff about servants, and supernatural anything, but this just ain't the right mix for me. Oh well! It's nice to be able to cross off a whole series instead of continually adding them! 😉 8y
