Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages
Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages | Kristin Chenoweth
A lively, laugh-out-loud journey from Oklahoma beauty queen to show biz sensation. Life s too short. I m not. You might know her as a Tony Award winning Broadway star who originated the role of Galinda the Good Witch in the smash musical "Wicked." Or you may recognize her from her starring roles on TV "The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, "and "Sesame Street." At four foot eleven, Kristin Chenoweth is an immense talent in a petite but powerful package. Through a combination of talent, hard work, and (she s quick to add) the grace of God, Kristin took Broadway and Hollywood by storm. But of course, into every storm, the occasional drizzle of disaster must fall, and Kristin reflects on how faith and family have kept her grounded, even in tough times. Filled with wit, wisdom, and backstage insight, "A Little Bit Wicked "is long on love and short on sleep. It s essential reading for Kristin s legions of fans and an uplifting story for anyone seeking motivation to follow his or her dreams over the rainbow and beyond. Featuring Chenolicious recipes, Kristin's advice for young actors, and much more!"

I‘ve been making my way through “The West Wing” on HBO. Kristin Chenoweth joined the cast in season 6. Coincidentally I saw this on Libby and shrugged. I never listen to audiobooks—I don‘t have the attention span. Then I said, “well, so what?” and hit the borrow button. It was a pleasant-enough read, narrated by Kristin herself. Enjoyed the chapters about the beauty pageant circuit, “Wicked” and her stint on “The West Wing.”

goodbyefrancie West Wing is such a good show! I'll have to try this book. 2y
Amiable @goodbyefrancie I had literally never seen a single episode until I started watching from the first one a couple of months ago! When it was on originally (1999-2006), I was working nights as a copy editor at a daily newspaper—so I never watched prime time TV. We recently got HBO so I figured I‘d finally give it a try —and I‘m hooked! (edited) 2y

This is the only book on my Goodreads shelf with the word #wicked in the title. It refers to her famous role originating Galinda in Wicked on Broadway. Not exactly Halloween! I enjoyed Kristin Chenoweth‘s memoir a lot. #FallisBooked

At first it seemed really interesting. But as time went on, it seemed to drag for me. I guess how it was written.. not my style. And it seemed so promising..
I guess it depends on the person and writing style for me, when it comes to autobiographies

blank I hate all bugs! I actually have this grabber stick called a Critter Catcher that I use to get them bc I'm a baby and can't squish them. I scoop them up then run outside screaming and let them go in my neighbors yard. I hate bugs. 😫 6y
bullbunny @laurenslibrary well with spiders I can't even do that. I run away. Or have someone else kill it 6y

I loved this. I really like Kristen Chenoweth. She has such a great attitude about everything and is unafraid to be herself. I found this to be really inspiring and funny and entertaining. I definitely recommend this one.

Enjoyed the audiobook. If you are expecting a lot of Wicked behind the scenes gossip you will be disappointed “A Little Bit Wicked” is pretty much all there is. It is a nice peek into the life of someone starting a career on Broadway. A little heavy on the “Jesus guides my life” topic but overall a fun read.

I read this via audiobook, which I would recommend b/c Chenoweth‘s a great narrator. The book starts out a bit slow, but overall was an enjoyable read. I‘m a singer & performed in theatre growing up, so learning about her background & training & the decisions she made along the way to get her where she is today was interesting. I mainly picked this up because I wanted to use this title for an “adjective” in my #ERMadlibs, but I‘m glad I read it.

I usually love listening to books read by the author and because of my love of Wicked, I was so excited to listen to this book by Kristin Chenoweth. Unfortunately, her charisma did not transfer into her written words or even her voice inflection while she read. She almost sounded bored at times while reading her own book. That's not good!

I needed something light on this snowy day, and then I nearly busted a gut laughing trying to navigate traffic. I've read the print version twice, but it's even funnier to listen to.

MicheleinPhilly Snowy??? It's 93 degrees here. 😩 8y
bookishkai @MicheleinPhilly here in Denver we're under a winter storm watch through (I think) tomorrow night. Heavy wet snow. Typical May storm, we get them periodically. But a shock to the system after nearly 2 weeks of seasonable 70's and 80's. 8y
SincerelyWinona She was a guest on a Hamilton-themed podcast called "The Room Where It Happens" (may be 'where it's happening', anyways...) she spoke on there about her background and theater involvement and it was wonderful! Didn't realize she had a book! Added to my TBR! 8y

An enjoyable memoir - she's upbeat and cheerful, positive and motivating. She also discusses her faith in detail. There's so many times when she makes herself laugh and all I can picture is Glenda the Good Witch.

I listened to this one and I think that was what made it so amazing. Chenoweth sings a line when she mentions a song and giggles at her own jokes. Her twang comes out when she talks about her past. A warning that there is a fair amount of religion talk.

I fell in love with Kristin Chenoweth as Annabeth Schott on The West Wing, and then as April Rhodes on Glee. This is a laugh-out-loud hilarious account of her life and career. It's a fast, easy read, and one I pick up again when I need a pick me up.

Josie Oh, I love her! I didn't even know about this! Thank you 😍 8y
