This simple alphabet book is truly gruesome, and while I may read it to my nephews, I have a feeling it would get complaints at a normal storytime.

Edward Gorey makes my kind of picture books.
Mr. B's Emporium of Reading Delights in Bath provided me with a copy of EG's Gashlycrumb Tinies, and lived up to their tagline as the assistant and I had a lovely talk about Gorey, creepy kids books and unnerving children's TV programmes of the '70s. I'm loving Bath's book culture ❤📚😊
I've loved this book for so long since I learned about it in college. Not exactly roses and sunshine but always something that me and my nan always sniggered about. Great little book-a bit grim for those not used to that sort of thing but an A-Z of death is the easiest way of putting it with a twist.....

I love this mock alphabet book focusing on children dying in various ways! Edward Gorey‘s text and illustrations are an absolute delight! As long as you don‘t mind a bit of morbid humor in your reading, this book is sure to please you!

pickI performed this book as part of a Forensics piece that got me into Nationals my senior year of High School. A delightful, dark and twisted alphabet by one of my favorite authors.

My goal for this fall is to memorize The Gashlycrumb Tinies so I can recite it to my baby and also at parties.
Some days, there is nothing wrong, but you're pushing through molasses to move from one task to the next. Those are the days you just want to stop, but you keep going so that you don't end up like Neville.
Today was like that.
I toured the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouth MA and boy was it full of treasures! Not to be missed.
