so-so🥹 Sally Thorne writes palpable passion like few other authors. I liked that the drama with Jamie was basically resolved and acknowledged as stupid. It was also nice that he didn‘t care too much if they got together, which is refreshing. Liked it overall, though the characters weren‘t my fav.

pickA cute audiobook by the same author as The Hating Game. Darcy is a little rough around the edges and thinks she needs to be off to the edges of the planet to avoid everything,especially her friend from childhood, Tom, who she thinks is the perfect man and engaged. Until she is forced to stay home and in close proximity to Tom in order to remodel her grandmother's house. Cute and fun book.
Actually completed a readathon!! Was hoping to finish one more, but didn‘t quite manage. Also, more evidence that I can read books faster than I can listen to them

It‘s taking me a while to get through the chunksters on my current reads stack, so I‘ve been reading lighter fare to mix things up. I hear the tagged book does not live up to The Hating Game, but I borrowed it so I could get the epilogue to that book. Josh and Lucy, you won me over.
so-soThis was fun enough, but I was never deeply engaged in the story because the angst of the two unattached, reluctant-to-consent adults was kind of ho-hum. I think was supposed to cheer on the inevitable hook up, but the MC, Darcy, was a bit of a brat.

panHoped this book would be as good as The Hating Game. It wasn‘t. Lucy was quirky, funny and sweet versus Darcy who was kinda mean and selfish. She clearly has a lot of issues that she needs to get with a therapist and work on. Am I supposed to believe all of that just goes away when you get with a man? I‘m struggling to imagine Tom & Darcy in a healthy long term relationship. The epilogue for The Hating Game was the best part of this book. ⭐️⭐️
so-soUmm, not my favorite? I just didn‘t understand how they both knew they loved each other- there was no vagueness there- but somehow couldn‘t get it together? The conflict was flimsy. At times I had to re-read certain things because it wasn‘t clear- I thought that was just me not getting it but apparently other people had this issue so it just needed better editing. I didn‘t hate it as much as some but it could have been a lot better for sure.
Feel like a light hearted romance! 😍 I hope it‘s as good as hating game! 🙊
pickWhew, Sally Thorne‘s books are good! They are pretty intense romances with lots of tension between the characters, but it feels authentic since the characters and their storylines are so well-developed! This one is a little more intense than The Hating Game, but in a can‘t-put-it-down kind of way.
A great quarantine read, finished it in one day 😆

so-soI'm finally back to Litsy and I could not be happier😍🎉 The decade's first book is 99 percent mine.
While at the age of 30 I am proud to be a contemporary romance fan I was a little disappointed with this 2019 favorit. The Hating Game was one of my favorit discoveries of 2019 but this Thorne book was sadly boring at times. While I loved Darcy as the badass but escapist heroine I did not understand the dynamic that drove the romance.
so-soLots of angry fighting. But the romantic tension is what Thorne does best and its full of it. Still not even in the same league as The Hating Game.

Do you garden and listen to audiobooks? These beauties are from my garden. Luckily they were there before we moved in because I do not have a green thumb. I love to just listen to audiobooks and do daily activities. I‘m not a cleaner so it definitely helps. Currently listing to 99 Percent Mine.

so-soI wasn't a fan of this. I didn't care for the female character, I thought she was annoying, and her and her brother kept arguing and I felt sorry for the Male love interest. Poor guy didn't deserve the stress those two caused him

Just finished this one. It‘s a fun, light, easy read. I‘ve been in the mood for lighter novels lately, and it was exactly what I needed. Some elements are predictable, but it still kept my interest.
Note: Darcy‘s objectification of Tom and their possessiveness towards one another can seem problematic. I‘m choosing to let it go because it WAS enjoyable for me nonetheless.
Was recommended this one by a friend so I scooped it up at the library. Really enjoying this MC‘s snarky self.

pickI enjoyed this, but it was much more intense and darker than The Hating Game. Our protagonist has a lot of inner demons to work through.

pickI just finished after being on a waiting list at my local library for 4 months. And that was for the eBook. So, was it worth the wait? Yes, but. But it‘s a good slow burn romance and I don‘t regret the hours I spent reading it.
And I‘m looking forward to her next novel. Read this and her first novel The Hating Game.
pickI enjoyed this one. I‘m a sucker for second chance romances. However, I read the arc and I heard the final edition contains an epilogue that wasn‘t in the arc - so I‘m curious.... and requested the book from the library, just to see. #LitsyAtoZ:T
I‘ve no willpower when I go to Target. I usually end up with one book, but today I ended up with two. 🤷🏻♀️ oh well.

This book's gotten a lot of mixed reviews. I didn't think it was as good as The Hating Game, and the characters were frequently frustrating, but I did enjoy the story overall, and I'll certainly read the sequel when it comes out.
