This a great story for women just trying to figure out our own happiness. Sometimes it's ok to not be fine. To not have it all together, and to be honest about all of it.

This book surprised me. I kind of expected another whiny suburban housewife saga, but no this was more. The tragedy Penny faces is life changing but the writing could‘ve been better. The tragedy was down played, but that‘s not what this book is about. It‘s about a woman struggling with life and the steps she took to improve. Book #8 in 2022
Penny is a mom, wife, friend, main bread winner for her family, and overwhelmed with life.
Enjoyed this one ended well and had me in tears at times. Thinking I may need to channel my inner penny and be honest :)
⭐️⭐️ Maybe constant honesty is not always the best approach? Penelope is a flawed, relatable character, but, god, is she annoying. The tragedy in this book is quite underplayed, but very serious and timely. I wish there had been more focus on that, and the friendship, rather than Penelope‘s and Sanjay‘s floundering marriage. It was unbalanced and ineffective. And the bright, cartoony cover feels deceptive here. Stupid chick lit trend.
A mixed bag.... the writing is just ok, but the main character was very relatable so I kept turning the pages. A woman struggling and juggling with grief, friendships, parenting, a marriage going stale, an unfulfilling career and unfulfilled creative ambitions...

A day off after a week of working B&N... now open to the public again .... and I‘m exhausted!
Saw this at Whole Foods this morning and it made me laugh, so I picked up a couple of cans!
Perfect accompaniment to an afternoon starting this one..... started fluffy, but took a turn.... definitely intrigued....
A friend told me she wants me to pick it for our bookclub... I think she‘s onto something.. 📚💕🍉🍷
⭐⭐⭐ This was a quick read, that had relatable, albeit two dimensional characters. The plot was also a bit all over the place and I kind of felt like I walked into the middle of a conversation. All in all it wasn't bad but I don't think I would recommend it.
I laughed, I cried, I connected with the characters. Thoroughly enjoyed this quick read about marriage, family, friendships, loss, and choosing happiness. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5. Good solid book. Thought it was a little off-balance, but I enjoyed it for a quick read. By the way, I‘m finding that I rate books I read as audiobooks lower - wondering if there‘s something to that?
There's too much to write , so I'll keep it short & sweet....read this book
Read in a day and enjoyed. Could relate and appreciate all of the characters.
Spent my morning making jam, while listening to the tagged book. And then washing allllll the dishes. I‘ll be super excited about jars of delicious jam in my pantry for the next few months.... but I do not enjoy all the dirty dishes that canning creates. 😝😝 #audiocooking #audiocleaning
I absolutely loved this audiobook! Camille Pagán's I'm Fine and Neither Are You is the story of Penelope who is struggling, after a tragedy involving her best friend Jenny, to figure out what is most important to her. Penelope and her husband, Sanjay, consider what each *actually* wants from their marriage, beyond appearances and the initial expectations they've moved beyond. ⬇️
I really enjoyed this book. When Penelope‘s best friend suffers a tragedy, it shakes her world. She takes a good look at her life and decides to make changes. In my opinion, Penelope‘s self-reflection and subsequent journey toward change are realistic in today‘s world. We do need to slow down and pay attention to the things that matter. Work toward changing areas of your life that make you unhappy.
I‘m Fine and Neither are you by Camille Pagan.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this story. There were times when I connected to the main character.. being a mom, wife and worker and putting everything before oneself. It was a bit of a slow start for me but overall I think it was a good story..
This book makes you think about how many of us go through struggles and the different paths we can take with the same circumstances.

2 of 5 stars = It was okay
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found it very realistic and could relate to so much of it. I thought the narrator did a great job, although Jenny's voice was particularly annoying. I will definitely read other books by this author. 4 1/2 ⭐
Realistic, relatable fiction. How often do we say "I'm fine" when asked tho we are not? A story of 2 friends & the aftermath when one of them suddenly dies. The last text to her best friend told her to make changes if she didn't like the way things were. And so many changes come! Well written and realistic, poignant and sometimes difficult, inspiring! The cover does not convey the depth and difficult subject matter of this book. Worth the read!
Some parts were good, some parts were okay. I was looking for a little more depth in the characters but didn't find it in the novel. Didn't like the MC and found it hard to empathize with her. I find her friend's story could've been delved a little deeper to add some depth and focus. Great for a light, quick weekend read though.
So baby, tell me where your love lies
Waste the day and spend the night
Underneath the sunrise
Show me where your love lies
I've been so into your mystery
Is it because of our history🎶
“It takes courage to be yourself when everyone expects you to be someone else.”
“I knew that was her parting gift—the ability to look beyond what‘s missing, and be thankful for all that remained.”

Though there were some great quotes like the one above, I found myself not fully invested in this book's characters. Ultimately it is about a middle aged professional who finds herself questioning her life after a close friend's sudden death. It felt more like a therapy session than a novel at times. Still, I was able to finish it. So not all bad.
I absolutely adored this story! I love Camille Pagan‘s writing 😌📖
Starting I‘m Fine and Neither Are You by Camille Pagan, I read my first book by her last month and loved it! 🎧
I enjoy Camille Pagán, genuinely. Her books are fun reads, and relatable—this was no different! Though on the surface the story line may seem a unique experience, the day-to-day emotions and struggles are very familiar. I love the character‘s voice, and can certainly identify with the themes of self-care, being honest with yourself and others, and learning to identify your own needs/desires—even if you worry it will ruin your “just fine” life.
This was last month's pick for Amazon First Reads. It was enjoyable. The main character loses her best friend to a prescription drug overdose, has major issues with her job, and is doing her best to save her marriage. When I put it that way, it doesn't sound enjoyable at all - ha, ha! I looked forward to reading it each day, so that's a pick for me 😊 Also - I love the title

This novel offers an enjoyable and intimate look at relationships with well crafted and messy characters, that sound so human and relatable.
Camille Pagán shows her talent in developing such a beautiful strong novel that I wanted to read in one sitting. All the things that initially might seem so perfect and unperfect, reveal themselves in a new and different light, enforcing to face the truth to find a real way of healing.(Read more on the blog.)
