Recursion | Blake Crouch

A true thriller. Sci-fi even for those who don‘t enjoy sci-fi—heck, even for the most reluctant readers! Trust me, Crouch will win you over. It has you stuck on “what if‘s”, it pulls at emotions. The characters are constructed well; the plot—fantastic. Even with a non-linear timeline (jumps back and forth and sideways), coupled with two different perspectives—I never felt lost, which can be a source of frustration in books akin to this. AWESOME.

BarbaraBB I stacked it already or I would have now! Great review. 6y

Nine Perfect Strangers | Liane Moriarty

I love Liane Moriarty. Her stories are full of such unique humor, and a (great) strangeness. The characters are always quirky and so well-developed. And this was no different.

Moriarty has a way of telling a story with circumstances that put you increasingly on edge—in the best way. The tales are absurd but believable, such an awesome balance, and oh so very entertaining.

Her books are an auto-buy for me, and this one was, again, excellent.

War Storm | Victoria Aveyard

Amazing, compelling, all you would want in the final installment of a series. The ending was REAL; it was strong, and not an unbelievable, tidy conclusion. It was full of the authentic, raw emotion that would be created from the events of the series: Love, loss, war, betrayal...

Everything has changed for Mare, her companions, and their world. Of course part of me wanted a fairy tale ending, but this conclusion was perfect. LOVED IT!

Lincoln in the Bardo | George Saunders

By far, one of the most interesting books I have ever read. They writing style was incredibly unique; very out-of-the-box compared to my normal reads. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a bit hard to adapt to Saunders‘ style at first, but I‘m glad I stayed with it. Entertaining certainly, and a strange twist on the Lincoln family history. Lots of character

Educated: A Memoir | Tara Westover

This book.... oh. My. Goodness. What a perspective, what an experience. This book truly impacted me; it will stay with me. Though I can‘t relate directly to Tara‘s background, many parts within the story truly touched me. Biggest take away: our past does not define us. There is a whole world out there, and we owe it to ourselves to absorb it and explore it. Extremely well-written. Amazing.

LOVED THIS BOOK. I am a huge fan of all the pop-culture references throughout the story; excellent plot, very smooth, action-driven. It was definitely not a slow read! Recommend!

rretzler I loved it as well! You might enjoy his other book Armada - it wasn‘t quite as good as RPO but still very enjoyable and centered around gaming and saving the world. 6y

I enjoy Camille Pagán, genuinely. Her books are fun reads, and relatable—this was no different! Though on the surface the story line may seem a unique experience, the day-to-day emotions and struggles are very familiar. I love the character‘s voice, and can certainly identify with the themes of self-care, being honest with yourself and others, and learning to identify your own needs/desires—even if you worry it will ruin your “just fine” life.

Smrloomis Welcome to Litsy! 🥳 Sp you liked it, right? Your review sounds positive but has “so-so” on it. Sometimes I hit that button accidentally, which is why I ask. 6y
