I've shelved this book dozens of times as a library staff member but watching my tween be engrossed in it and reading ahead of her assignments for school is what made me finally pick it up. Definitely left open for more titles in the series.

I‘ve seen this book in libraries and shops for ages, I never got around to reading it until now. I am so glad I read it, it definitely deserves the popularity it has. I love fairytale retellings and I love sci-fi and alternative history so this was just perfect for me. The world is very interesting and well explained. The characters were enjoyable and unique. Though some of the plot twists were predictable, it had solid and engaging plot.

YA. And a good book with a modern sci-fi take on the fairy tale Cinderella. The characters are very well written, and the story had me burning up the pages. Not a big fan of Sci-fi, I had not considered thus series, but I really liked it and will read the next 7 or 8 😁

I think this would be great for children who like Cinderella as this is loosely based on the classic

“Even in the future the story begins with once upon a time”

I love the mystery of this! It is very intriguing and interesting

So, I‘m just in the mood to reread some of my favorite fairytale retellings 🙂 I forgot how intense this book was. Cinder and Kai just break the heart ❤️‍🩹 so many moments had me 😢 IKO and Peony 😭😭 My deep hate for the Queen and her stepmother I wanted to slap them both.
Kai is one of my favorite Princes. He was kind, funny, charming and made very good decisions considering the crazy situation.

I tagged the first book in The Lunar Chronicles. It would be my dream to see this series made into a tv series!

It‘s a book you read for 10 min and stop realizing it‘s been 45 min. The story pulls you in so deep in its mystery and politics. Cinder and Kai have chemistry. Even as she is a cyborg; the lowest of bearings on earth. She really does belong to her stepmother. What‘s exciting about this Cinderella retelling is the addition of Lunars (moon superiority complex) trying to take over earth. Now add a complex Lunar plague on earth to find a cure for

I can't believe it took me this long to read this book. I really enjoyed this retelling of Cinderella. I like the whole Lunar and cyborg aspect of it. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This may very well be my new favorite book of this year...and possible favorite series?! We will have to see. I am so stoked to read all of the upcoming books and thankfully I've got the second one ready to be read. Cinder is soooo likeable and I just love how Marissa Meyer made this retelling so unique. Pure genius in my opinion 💜 also Iko was a favorite side character!

For the #letterc , I'll go with Cinder. It's one I return to any time I want something light and fun and fast-paced. It's not perfect, but I have yet to encounter a more unique Cinderella retelling. The sci-fi angle is a blast.

My last book for April was my second book for April‘s Cinderella #FairyTaleReadingChallenge. I‘m glad I finally started this series! I love the mythology and I liked the first installment even more than I thought I would. Looking forward to May‘s challenges! @Charityann

I think this book has been on my TBR since it first was published in 2012 haha Worth the wait - creative and fun with likable characters. I did feel like the place cyborgs had in society wasn't very well explained, but on the whole I really enjoyed this one. And since it's been on my list ten years, I don't have to wait for the rest of the series! Bought all the others on Pango so they should be here next week!!

I read Cinder years ago & enjoyed it! Book one of The Lunar Chronicles. YA so beware of the typical tropes. I liked the original covers, I may collect them all.

Society takes places at the time with futuristic advanced technology and high risk of being infected by a deathly plague. Cinder, is just a mechanic that is trying to get through life by her awful step family. Likewise, the emperor decided to host a ball to find Prince Kai, an empress. However, she cannot go to the event even though she wants to. She was a cyborg and no prince would ever want to be in a presence near her.

Here is another series I love that I ended up getting second copies of because they changed the covers and the new ones are TOO BEAUTIFUL TO RESIST! 😍 I mean seriously, look at them!
