10-15-18: My 48th finished book of 2018! 📖👍🏼#️⃣4️⃣8️⃣
10-14-18: What my husband calls a “Moonstruck” breakfast! It‘s from the movie, something Olympia Dukakis makes for Cher. A morning of yoga, reading in the bath, and now this....no complaints! 🧘♀️📖🍳
The realest look at relationships and the male psyche that I have ever encountered in fiction.
My current read. Just started, and I am loving the writing.
1. The tagged book. He was just so awful!
2. Chocolate, or tea, or wine and cheese- it varies.
3. Victoria: the Queen by Julia Baird
4. Anyone who wants to play!

PJs on and ready for a big Saturday night of reading while the royal wedding plays on repeat in the background. #8intwo
As per my new year's resolution, I am slowly making my way through my own books. I am pretty sure I bought this one because of the cover. #mountTBRchallenge
Heard so many good things, but wasn‘t my favourite.

How bad can the dating scene in modern days be? Well you might come across someone like Nathaniel P. And that wouldn't be good! A lot of readers have found this character too awful to enjoy this book but I was in the mood to be shown the inner thoughts of a supposedly evolved liberal young man who is actually just self involved and terrible. Well written if you want to roll your eyes and gnash your teeth a bit!
Found a chair that's as colorful as my current read. Sadly, neither are very comfortable.
I think I'm going to bail on this. I really don't like Nate, and 59% of the way in, I don't really care what happens to him. Does anyone see what I'm missing and think it's worth finishing?
"It flashed through Nate‘s mind that Hannah‘s position wasn‘t very feminine. She sounded more like an aesthete than an educator, and women, in his experience, tended by disposition to be educators. He felt intuitively that she was para-\u008phrasing someone else (a professor? Nabokov‘s Lectures on Literature?) and that the someone was a man."
OMG can this character be more of a jerk???
"At home, he‘d read Kristen bits from Proust, and she‘d get this pinched look on her face, as if the sheer extravagance of Proust‘s prose was morally objectionable, as if there were children in Africa who could have better used those excess words."
This quote tickled me so much I laughed out loud in the law firm lunch room!
Just a small corner of the madness that will become my bedroom - I'm stamping all my new books, creating spreadsheets, and reshelving today! Ahhh!
Good read - but Nathaniel P. is a class A jerk.
I stayed with it until the end but only because I was hoping Nate P would become a better character. I don't think I have ever disliked a character more. Not a bad book. Not bad writing. Just wasn't for me.
In my defense (as if one were needed) I had a birthday this month. There may or may not have been kindle and audio books purchased as well. Spoiler alert: there were. I'm going to try to show some restraint in September. #augustbookhaul #augustphotochallenge

Popped into a thrift store on my way to a cafe and walked out with a stack of books!
3🌟 I'm having trouble reconciling my feelings about this book. There are interesting insights into the male mind. Nate is an fascinating MC with a well-circumscribed POV. The writing is fine. It's a little navel-gaze-y for me and the pacing is a bit off. One relationship was drawn out and got boring, while the other one flew by at warp speed. If you want to be in the mind of a bro, I don't think it's a bad book, but it could've been better.
Subtitle: How crazy women get men and rational women are seen as undesirable a.k.a. Why I'm single. 😒 Although, honestly, I'd be pretty miserable with Nate's brand of bro-ness. 🙄 Review tomorrow.
PS This is obviously an oversimplification of relationships! Meant to be read sarcastically. 😏
This book is fascinating. So the girlfriend brings up a complaint rationally. When he refuses to acknowledge what she said, she loses her temper for the first time in 3 months of dating. Then he feels smug.
The girl he's dating is so much like me. Since she's not always hysterical, he just can't believe she's being honest. You really can't win. 😒
I think I'm calling it a #readathon at 5.5 books! (I may read a bit more before bed.) My first, and definitely not my last, #24in48 has been a wonderful weekend! I have 4 #blog posts to write and work tomorrow, so I better get cracking lol. 😉 Thank you to @Litsy and @24in48 for such a great time! And thank you to @coffeehousepress for sponsoring the contest I won. You guys rock! 👊🏻 Also, thanks to this wonderful community of readers! ❤️❤️❤️
My man Nate P. Is a total bro. It interests me that this book is written by a woman. It always interests me when people write MCs of the opposite gender. It makes me wonder about the veracity of the MC's inner thoughts. Given that most of my experience knowing the inner sexual thoughts of men is more from gay friends than straight, I'm intrigued to know if #notallmen break down a woman's attractiveness this much. #24in48 #readathon
Starting out, my goal for the readathon was six books. I don't know if I can keep going after that, but cheers to starting book 6! #24in48 #readathon 📖👊🏻
In other news, it's becoming mathematically impossible for me to hit 24 hours. ☹️
Today's book a day pick makes me happy I picked up the ebook while it was on sale. I may have to consider this for #24in48 this weekend.
Adding this to my readathon stack! Just $2.99 right now on Kindle. 👍🏻
