This is the first book in a paranormal romance series recommended by the Smart Podcast Trashy Books : so as expected it‘s fun and it‘s trashy. It‘s loosely based on Norse mythology ( but since Marvel movies are my guide I have no idea how loosely) - there is quite a bit of violence but it‘s got a Buffy vibe to it. Good world building, strong female characters, satisfying romance- not perfect but pretty darn good - stayed up way too late reading 📖

Just discovered a new book Podcast last night. The tagged book is the first in a paranormal romance series based on Norse mythology recommended in the episode. So of course had to load it on my Kindle. Had to drop all my other books and start the new one.

Guys!! I‘ve read(listened to) 3 books this month and started a 4th today!! I haven‘t read like this in over a year!! I‘ve read this series before but it‘s still wonderful!

I should be going to sleep but instead I‘ve got an audio book going and a huge hand knitted blanket to finish! I love this book series and really hope she writes more very soon. It‘s funny listening to the audio and seeing how wrong I‘ve been pronouncing a name while reading the paper copies!!

The only two books I've read in June. I've been really stressed at work and also nervous about having knee surgery in a couple of weeks, so the reading just isn't happening. I'll be off of work for several weeks after surgery, so hopefully I can get my mojo back.

This book was the perfect change of pace to my reading! It was a great beginning to this paranormal romance series and I‘m looking forward to reading more!

Book #12 for the year

I liked most of the characters and the mythology was good, but man that ending was too open for my liking. I may pick up the next one because the characters in that one seem even better.

#breakfastandabook Today I'm having egg in a hole, with hot sauce, bacon and coffee. I'm hoping to finish The Unleashing today. I'm enjoying it more than I was initially and am curious to see where the story is headed.

My Friday night is set: junk food with the hubby, some wine, my snuggly blanket and reading my book.

Fun book. Not my favorite in terms of style of romance, but fast-paced and witty.

Ignore the cover of this book. It's stupid and has nothing to do with the plot and all of its amazing characters. Yes, there is a romance but it is unimportant and unrelated to the story line.
I really enjoyed this and look forward to the other installments. Shoutout to the BookRiot podcast 'Recommended' for the suggestion.

Fantastic! I love the Crows! Kera‘s acclimation to the crow clan is wonderfully awkward and Vig is gloriously straightforward! And Kera‘s dog, Brody Hawaii is just the best! Oh my goodness do I love that pooch! This is a fun start for a new (to me) series, and I can‘t wait to move on to the next book. Definitely a pick!

I forgot to take a picture of my book, but I went backpacking this weekend, and I read the tagged book in my tent with this view. 🏕

An enjoyable enough read that I'll be picking up the next in the series. Kera, a former Marine, is given a second life after she's murdered by becoming a Crow, a Viking Clan. These Clans carry out tasks for various Norse gods, which is interestingly different world-building for a paranormal romance.

This book was so much fun! It's marketed as a romance, but it's really not. It's about a bunch of women kicking ass for Norse gods. The romance is a side story, but still very much appreciated.

With the right makeup, wardrobe, and sex tape you, too, could be part of a wealthy reality TV family

This book would have dwindled on my TBR had it not been for the Under The Covers Roundabout book challenge. I LOVED it!! Originally recommended by smart bitches trashy books. Bad-assery, norse mythology, tribes of women, saving the world with a smidge of romance thrown in. My first #urbanfantasy read. I did find it odd that the cover is not of a member of the clan of crows though. #Romantsy

An ex (or late) Marine and her rescue pit bull join a Valkyrie like bunch. With a weapon-making Scandinavian-dour Viking hero and bloodthirsty "Crow" warrior women supporting cast. For fans of #KresleyCole 's #Immortalsafterdark

Annoying heroine, interesting world building. I'm interested enough to read book 2.

This was a random grab for me and it turned out to be quite fun! It gets a bit silly at times and I did get really tired of all the arguing that slowed down the pacing, but the humor is pretty good and when the action does happen it's spot on.
Overall it's a quick and fun read

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love anything by Laurenston. This start to her new series was amazing. It has all the humor of her other books with Vikings and gods!
