I don‘t need to start another series, but I did anyway. This is the first book I finished for 2025, a story of a newly widowed woman who is trying to be independent but has to solve a couple of mysteries first. A fun, light read.

Today's my mom's birthday! She and my dad are coming over for dinner so I got up early to make a birthday cake before work. And I had time to finish this book which I enjoyed the heck out of. I really like Frances (& Charles, Hetty, Fiona) and I liked the several mysteries and their conclusions. I plan to continue with this series. Good pick @ElizaMarie I'll get it back to you next week. @TheBookHippie @Bookwormjillk
These arrived today, Jill. Thanks! Can't wait to comb through Frenchman's Creek for everyone's comments.
Eliza, I'll try to read A Lady's Guide this weekend and send it back to you early next week.
This has been a fun group, thanks everyone!

Do y‘all have the link to the list? I am not sure who I'm mailing to. 🦞
This one was a quick, light, & fun read. I bought this as a Kindle deal. I usually always have a kindle book to read at night, one for fun & way to wind down at night. This was a pretty decent one, nothing too exciting. I‘m always a sucker for English society books, plus it was a fun mystery. #bookspin
It‘s been far too long since I‘ve posted on here!
Getting in a little book club reading on the porch before the storms roll in ✒️☕️
This was such a cute story full of great character work. Especially Frances, I adore her. The mystery was riveting and overall this was just a wonderful break from the more heavy reads I tend to stick to. I liked it so much I checked out the second one from the library! Great pick, Amanda ♥️

I guess I didn‘t read much in March, and half the ones I did I either bailed or didn‘t like. So pretty easy to pick a winner! #readingbracket2022
What a fun, quick read! Murder mystery in turn-of-the-century England. Exactly what I needed these last couple of days!
I am not a fan of mystery but really enjoyed this one. I didn't see the culprit coming. It was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you @Littlewolf1 for the bonus book! They both look so good I‘m not sure which one to read first.
Happy Holidays. #jolabokaflodswap
A Victorian murder mystery that was light, cute, and made me chuckle.
What a wonderful surprise read! I loved that the Mc didn't develop a romance with the investigator. That's so played out. Now I did guess who the two bad people ended up being but it was still a fun ride
Time for the comfort of a Victorian mystery
Cozy mystery, humor, and britlit what‘s not to love. Book one of the A Countess of Harleigh Mystery
Manners and murder. 😄 Enjoying this listen!
UPDATE: this was a fun, easy listen. It got a little unnecessarily long but all and all a great read. A great accompaniment for drawing and cozying up in the reading chair with my favorite pup.
This was a fun historical mystery and was the first one I finished for #CozyInTheSun this month. I very much enjoyed many of the characters - except Lily who I didn't like at all. It was a solid mystery, good character development, and lovely setting imagery. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

After being so disappointed in the first book I tried for #CozyInTheSun I am rallying with this #historical cozy today. Here's hoping this one works better than the last! @Librarybelle @ferskner
OMG! I can‘t even believe how much I thoroughly enjoyed this one! A Victorian era mystery (book 1 in series) The American born countess of harleigh just pulled me right into all her hijinks. I loved all the characters! ♥️I just wish there was MORE interaction between the 2 MC. And I wasn‘t crazy about the ending.. but this was definitely the kind of lighthearted fun I needed! Looking forward to the 2nd one! ♥️😎
The author is a Michigan native!🤗
First in the series. This was a good cozy mystery. I enjoyed the characters and storyline. It was an easy book to listen to on my commute. I will be on the look out for the next book in the series on #audiobook #scribd #historicalfiction #cozymystery #historicalmystery
I‘d had this on my TBR for a while, and when browsing amazon for kindle deals found it was $2.99. Soooo worth it! It filled my craving for a historical murder mystery, but also was charming and witty. Loved it, ready for the next!!
Using my lunch break to continue this read. Pretty fun so far

The Marathon Conspiracy was slow moving but I thoroughly enjoyed the setting in Ancient #Greece. Have picked the first title in the #series to read more about the life back then, and get acquainted with renowned names from the Hellenic history.
Only a few chapters in and I can tell it‘s going to be a good read! ~

Clever, light and entertaining. Lady Frances Harleigh, née Price, American heiress, widowed countess learns to make her way in the world and discovers she has a knack to uncover mysteries. An airy, light cozy with good, smart characters from the leads to the secondaries. I loved that the women from the aristocracy to the maids were fleshed out and stood on their own.

This novel follows Frances Wynn, pulled out of her brief independence from her in-laws by a letter implicating her in her husband's death.
The pacing in this short novel was excellent and no words were wasted in info-dump passages. The murder investigation became very complicated but was handled very well.
I wish Frances' and Lily's suitors' emotions had been shown a bit better and more. Overall, a great debut novel.
