I really tried. I was going to give this series another shot, because the first one was good, and I thought I could pick it right back up. But it‘s not happening. So my first bail of 2024. #notforme 😩😢☠️👎🏻📚⛰️

This was a great sequel to the Final Empire.
It picks right up where the first left off.
The mists are starting to come during the day and attack people, and Elend is now king and is facing multiple armies trying to take his throne.
Vin is struggling with determining who she really is, as well as seeing a figure made of mist.
The book ends with another twist and another threat.
I am enjoying this series and look forward to the third book.
#Betterlatethannever Finally posting my July #Storygraph wrap up. I had a good reading month, but a lot of the books I read were in that kind of meh > it was okay range.
My husband is finally catching up to where I am in our Mistborn buddy read, so I‘m looking forward to continuing with the 3rd in the trilogy (but maybe not for another month or so).
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
There were some parts of this that felt overly long, but I was always interested in picking it back up.
And when you get to the whiplash of an ending & see all the little crumbs Sanderson had left for you to follow? Perfection.
Michael Kramer is a great narrator, too, so I would recommend listening. Can‘t wait for book 3!
Just another picture of Vin being a bad ass, killing giant koloss. Typical Tuesday. 💁🏻♀️
Definitely a different feeling and pacing from The Final Empire, but the character investment is so worth it! Each individual character arc and the book‘s arcs as a whole, are so satisfying and there‘s this perfect balance of action, politics, and plotting. The ending had me reeling! Can‘t wait to wrap this story up and continue my journey into the Cosmere. ✨5/5 Also, the fan art for this is AMAZING.
Spending this rainy day finishing the last 200 pages and I‘m ready for the Sanderlanche!! Here we go! 🫣
So, it‘s time to rank another Cosmere series. A couple of weeks ago I ranked The Stormlight Archives series, and after popular demand I‘m here today to rank Mistborn: Era 1.
Head over to Wildwood Reads to see why I ranked these the way that I did.

I am actually loving these books on audio. I don't know what it is, I just focus more when I am listening to these books. It was great to be in this world again. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
Currently reading The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson, any recommendation which I should read next out of my TBR stack?
Not as engaging as the 1st, possibly because I had to keep checking the metals effects, but also the absence of one of my fav characters from the 1st (for obv reasons). I found some of the story disjointed so it's not as easy to follow what some characters were doing. Not as easy to visualise this book so my understanding of it not as strong as 1st. A bit slow to get going as well & a couple of the stupid choices by the characters was annoying.
My current situation. #ReadingWithACat#Mistborn2#WellOfAscension#BrandonSanderson
Working through my TBR pile…only 5 more to go after this one! #TheWellOfAscension#BrandonSanderson#Mistborn
It was 59° here today! After all those 3° days last week I knew I had to get out there and enjoy it, even if it was a bit drizzly! 😊🌿 It did stop drizzling long enough for me to get a few chapters in at my favorite reading spot! 💕📚
Hot chocolate and Mistborn; a perfect combination! 😍📚💕
I may have enjoyed this second book of the series even more than book 1. Vin is such a fantastic hero and the entire cast of characters is just so well crafted. I need to get through my #audiobook tbr so I can start book 3!! 5⭐️

It took nearly a month to read, because time was limited this month, but that‘s not a reflection of this book. It was action packed and a page-turner! An excellent follow-up to the first book in the Mistborn series. Our hero, Vin, is learning more about herself and growing her skills, while trying to keep King Elend safe. An epic adventure follows as armies threaten their city, and a power she doesn‘t understand is calling Vin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I was about ready to give this up in part four (of six) but kept on and man can Sanderson stick the landing. I‘m so hyped from the ending that I almost forgive the half hearted attempt at a love triangle that I found so off putting. There‘s definitely a bit of a cliff hanger so I‘m impatient for my library hold to come in for the next one.
At first glance, the key and the lock it fits may seem very different…Different in shape, different in function, different in design. The man who looks at them without knowledge of their true nature might think them opposites, for one is meant to open and the other to keep closed. Yet, upon closer examination, he might see that without one, the other becomes useless. The wise man then sees that both lock and key were created for the same purpose.
I am aiming to make significant progress in this book today. I‘ve had such little time to read recently. I‘ve been reading it for 3 weeks - reading every day, but sometimes only for 5 minutes. That‘s no way to get through a nearly 800 page book with as much adventure as this one! I‘m about 2/3 through, and it‘s SO good! Today, I‘m making it a priority! ❤️📚
Enjoying a pretty Friday afternoon on the porch. This book hooked me right back in to the world of the Mistborn. ❤️📚
This is a very solid follow-up to The Final Empire, expanding the setting and cast while still feeling lived-in, real, and familiar. I'll be looking forward to Hero of Ages, albeit with some trepidation because Sanderson has made it clear with this entry that nobody and nothing is necessarily safe, and even the things that seem well-established can be unreliable.
A great read, and if I wasn't fully invested in the Cosmere before, I sure am now.
Thanks Andrew for the tag! This is my choice for January 2021.

Fantastic! Sanderson is am excellent writer!
One thing I know for sure is that wherever I think a story will go, Sanderson astonish me in taking it in a whole different direction, that in a million years never crossed my mind.
I am in awe of his brilliant, imaginative mind!
So I‘m continuing my binge reading of Brandon Sanderson with The Well of Ascension. As always, I‘m super impressed with the Cosmere and I might just be a bit obsessed. I did feel it suffered from second book syndrome in the first half, but completely turned around at the end. I mean, wow, that ending was mind blowing. Overall, I loved The Well of Ascension.

"Of course, Elend thought, l'd just prefer to be in my chair, reading quietly."
Elend is my kind of person ... ?
Slowly working my way through the second mistborn book
Let‘s talk about my July tbr. I only own two of the books that I‘ve listed. Obviously, my top priority is Well of Ascension, but I hope to get to a couple of others as well. Plus, I need to read a book set in an island, so if you have any recommendations let me know in the comments.

Thank you for this #WondrousWednesday @Eggs 😁
1. My family has no choice! 😂
2. My father and sister both read a lot but they are huge history buffs and mostly read nonfiction, so we rarely read the same books. Also, they tend to read much shorter books, both of them stared in amazement when I got the 1,200 page “Rhythm of War” for Christmas! 😱
3. Tagged! I loved the first book so much, I can‘t believe I still haven‘t read the sequel yet! 😳

Great second installment to the Mistborn series. Sanderson continued his excellant world building and his character development is spot on. I loved where he took Vin's character. It made her believable and relatable. The plot was good and there were several surprises to keep you interested. It ended in a cliffhanger of sorts. The story lines were wrapped up for this book. Yet, you know that Vin will not be happy with the out come and will work...

Didn‘t love it as much as the first one (naturally), but still good. Vin felt a bit whiny to me, and her struggle to find that sweet spot between street urchin and noble woman just didn‘t seem as important to me as other things going on. Obviously, still brilliantly written. The world building is literally out of this world (get it?!). 7/10

Finally out of my reading slump and about to dig right into the second part! 🤓
Congrats on your milestone @Catsandbooks 🥳🥳🥳 and thanks for doing this fabulous giveaway. #Cab10KGiveaway
At the top of my wishlist is the tagged book by Brandon Sanderson and The Doors of Eden by Adrian Tchaikovsky
The second book in the Mistborn trilogy is better than the first obe in my opinion. It had less political focus and it seemed that more was actually happening. I enjoy the world that the author built here, the folklore, the myths and various forgotten religions all make it believable and left me wanting to know more about what happened in the past. I hope that the last book in the trilogy will give me just that.
I tried orange spiced black tea this morning and it was delicious 😋
My schedule changed as of next week I‘ll be working 11-7 instead of 5:30-3. So I‘m wondering if I should just stay in the habit of getting up super early and going to be early or if my sleeping pattern should change according to my schedule.
Also I‘m reading The Well of Ascension and it‘s good...but things just ain‘t the same 😰 if you know you know. Wishing all a blessed day!!
Noodle say, “Daddy needs to share his kindle!!!! 😡 I wanna read Mistborn too!”
