pickI‘m glad I‘ve embarked on the Mount TBR challenge. There have been a lot of great books so far.
I‘ve been wanting to read this first in the series book for a long time now and I‘m already hooked!! (But, wait, that just makes my TBR longer 🤔

pickJust discovered this series about Tess Monaghan, a former reporter who stumbles (quite literally) into a career as an investigator. Quirky, sarcastic and often clumsy, she uses her charm, a little deception, and a lot of quick wit in following leads and solving crimes in and around Baltimore. I especially enjoy how the city is featured as a character in the series. Looking forward to reading more of these! #crime
#marchintoreading Day 22 I have been listening to audio books since I was a kid. I love them. I listen when I clean, in the car, making dinner, taking a shower, and grocery shopping. #awesomeaudiobooks

pickI wanted to read more female-driven, woman-written noir, a noble aim almost entirely undermined by my choosing this series based on the author's husband.
This was well drawn and plotted even if the characters were a little ragged. The nexus between journalism and investigation has been well plumbed before but this felt more authentic and better informed than most. I have the second one already and I'll get to it at some point soon.
AwesomeBooks is awesome for backlist noir, Penguin Classics and odd books about cricket. And they deliver around the world for a flat rate of three quid. Hoorah.
pickReally enjoyed this book, not as explicit or as violent as the usual crime thrillers I read but not a 'cozy mystery' either. I would have read this in a couple of sittings if I hadn't been so busy this week (buying books) and definitely plan to read the next Tess Monaghan mystery. 👍🏼📚❤️
