I am posting a book every day from my TBR collection.
Day 42

If you love YA fiction, romance, action and thriller books then this is the book for you. It‘s part of a trilogy and the first book (the one shown in the picture) can be found in our school library. The book starts out with a teenage girl named Avery West going to school (as she does everyday) when a piece of paper falls out of the mysterious new boys bag. Avery picks it up and on the paper is... just kidding you have to read the book to find out.
The good: the world-building & the idea of twelve powerful families rivaling each other. The bad: characters who feel like poor cutouts from other books. Especially Avery, she of the dark hair & porcelain skin, who spends the entire book sans shower & clueless, neither of which is cute. Worse, her cluelessness lends itself to her making silly observations about people in other countries, which make her seem ignorant. So thanks, but no. ★★☆☆☆
#currentlyreading | guys I think I might be on a YA thriller kick. #hereforit 🙌🏽
My #🕵🏻♀️ not as full as my Fantasy and Sci Fi shelves. it‘s only the bottom shelf. I guess this shows where my priorities lie.

Super excited to have won a set of these novels by Maggie Hall. They are so amazing, and so is she!
The sun came out the next day, which it had no right to do.

Looking for my next prompt I found another #compasspoint. #jubilantjuly.
I was promised national treasure but got twilight. A high school girl thought her only family was her mother, but finds out she is a lost member of a very influential, ancient, blood line. she jumps on a private jet to France with a violent stranger & begins a European adventure of murder and mystery. Underdeveloped characters & shallow details to separate between major cities of our the world. not for me. pricked at too many of my pet peeves. #YA
What the crap did I just read? It started out as a YA Dan Brown novel. The ending had me saying "What the crap?!?" And not in a good way. This must be the first book in a series, because the ending left me hanging. Grrrrr.
We're only 2 weeks away from The Ends of the World release!!! Re-listening to the first two so I'm fresh for the ending!!
I'm picking this as my next book. I'm still struggling through Hillbilly Elegy on my Kindle, so I needed something different.
Taking a breather from Eliza, whom I love but who is also VERY intense. The final book of this trilogy is out or out soon so I thought it would be a good time to try it. I'm ok suspending some disbelief if I get action, adventure, and travel. Not bad so far.
Got in another conspiratorial #audiowalk!! Hoping to either get to the gym or go for a long walk every day in March. Warming up. 🙂 #audiobook
Got another #audiowalk in this evening! #nofilter - and I'm loving this audiobook! So cheesy & fun, reminds me of Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red trilogy! Now for the Oscars!!
Doing some #audiocooking! Prepping food for the week -- carnitas in the crockpot and ground beef on the stove top right now. (Starting a Whole 30 on Wednesday, aaahhhh!) This book is fun so far! A bit Da Vinci Code-esque, in a teenagery way.
Trying not to lose my #audiobook groove again! Starting this one & folding laundry. #iknowhowtoparty
I asked a teen reader for some recommendations....this is the first half of her list...
I liked this book, though I didn't fall head over heels in love with it. My #audiobook review here: http://melissajcrispin.com/audiobook-review-the-conspiracy-of-us-by-maggie-hall/
It's YA daVinci code with longer chapters and a love triangle. The triangle makes me ragey.
Not my cup of tea. It would have been a fun read, but I couldn't get past how oblivious the characters were, and how often there was a very convenient fix for some obstacle. Ah well.
