Court of Frost and Starlight
Court of Frost and Starlight | Sarah J Maas
Narrated by Feyre and Rhysand, this story bridges the events in A Court of Wings and Ruin and the upcoming novels in the series. Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated--scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

Book #4 in the series. It felt short, but I liked where it went. Valerie sounds like a nice place to live.

Okay I am literally addicted to this series. “Hi, it‘s me I‘m the problem.” Love the different perspectives of this book, and I love the fact it takes place during solstice. 🌙

A fantasy novella filled with lusty and boozy scenes. No major plot, just main characters getting ready for the big Solstice party, worrying about presents and peace. Glimpses of how Velarís is not the same since the war, finding ways to give back to their people, and staying aware of rumblings of potential enemies. Feyre and Rhys make a big decision at the end of the book that could be life changing. Simple, sweet and not challenging to read.

Short and sweet, a lovely family solstice celebration. Of course, with any family gathering, there is also family drama. Still, it‘s a nice little slice of happiness amidst the craziness that is going on around them. This may have to be added to the audiobooks I like to listen to around my own Winter Solstice celebrations. This felt like a much more satisfying “The End” compared to the one at the end of ACOMAF.

In an effort to both continue this series and savor The House in the Cerulean Sea, I‘m starting this immediately.
#readtheceruleansea I got excited last night and now I‘m 50% of the way through Cerulean, so I really need to pace myself.

Once I got past reading the words “my mate” 4765346 times and the overused endearment “Feyre darling,” I enjoyed this book more than the previous three. I like that there‘s more than one POV and it gives more depth to each of the main characters. I‘m hoping the next two include more of Elaine and Nesta. Book #78 in 2024

🥹🥹🥹🥹 this felt like a breather. I caught myself thinking, “are they really just celebrating Christmas right now??” A nice transition between books and conclusion to a big, big storyline. Even though nothing really happens, it made me crave winter. And after that tense last book, I welcomed it

This one is a like a little sidebar christmas special of the series and really enjoyable. No threat, no wider dramas, just some enjoyable insights into the central protagonists and their inner circle and allow for richer development and insight into their relationships and motivations. A quick read before diving into the final, monster finale novel!

This book has some steamy scenes and sweet moments. Thinking of it as more of a transition into other characters‘ stories, it was a welcome edition to the series.

🛍 Yes! I started early and bought gifts as I saw them throughout the year, and thank goodness for that bc December has not started like I'd planned! 🙃
🛍 🛍 the tagged book is a favorite read of mine near the holidays. Such a cozy read, and the characters shop for Yule.

This book is what I expected, a transition between ACOWAR and what is to come in ACOSF, some peace after the war, the calm after the storm, or before? Only I will know after I finish ACOSF. It does not keep you as engaged as the others but I still think is worth to read as part of the series. Despite the story line, it also has some pretty interesting scenes 😉. Also, a great read around the holidays, since it takes place during Winter Solstice.

I see people‘s initial hesitancy, Through multiple perspectives and no full plot. But that‘s the beauty; as a Christmas special. Where characters finally get to be happy, to start healing, with the most stressful thing being buying gifts. I loved this novella. Best parts was seeing how everyone‘s healing, in own way. I love what Feyre is working towards. Pained for Nesta‘s way. Adored Insight on Cass and Az. #sjm

Cute little Chrismas(-ish) story. There was a lack of plot, but the backstories and long awaited thoughtst made up for it. I'm not a big fan of mutiple POV's, but in this case it had a good reason, which made it work.
All concluded, not my favorite in the series, but a pleasant break from any war or fighting.

The first snow of winter had begun whipping through Velaris an hour earlier.
The ground had finally frozen solid last week, and by the time I‘d finished devouring my breakfast of toast and bacon, washed down with a heady cup of tea, the pale cobblestones were dusted with fine, white powder.

I loved this book because I was already in love with the characters, but it wasn‘t the most exciting thing in the world and took me longer to read despite it‘s shorter length. But it still was super cute and a nice romance break from the classic war and death. The worst part in the book (as with the others) is Nesta and her continually insufferable attitude

I love this whole series as pure selfish escapism, an easy read to a different world when you have so much going on around you . I never understand “literary snobbery “ because surely what makes you happy is the joy of reading what ever genre you like and all any author aspires to is to be well read. Ms Maas has a huge following because she simply writes a good story not rocketscience just a good old fashioned story.

Bklover Whole heartedly agree on the snobbery! 2y

This book was described to me as the “Hallmark Christmas Movie” of the ACOTAR series. And that is a very apt description. Luckily, I‘m a total sucker for sappy, holiday themed movies and throughly enjoyed reading A Court of Frost and Starlight, even though it was mostly fluff. Very excited to read Nesta‘s character development in the next one. The tension between her and Cassian is giving chills! Photo Credit : Charlie Bowater

Book 4 of the ACTOCAR series is a sweet, brief story in which the Feyre's inner circle each gets a voice in chapters of their own. All are healing from a brutal battle and hoping to restore peace as they celebrate the friendship and family they have created.

I see so many people screaming about how this book is just a waste of time. I see it differently. It is a filler. It tells you the story about how each character is trying to adjust to life after the war. Yes, it's not action-packed, but I was still entertained by it.

4/5⭐️

TheHungryBookworms @KateReadsYA It was a nice little break from all the fight and the war. It was nice to see them somewhat happy. Even though they had some struggles. 2y
