The cover is as complicated as the storyline. Twists and turns that are not expected. I can‘t believe that it‘s been over 4 years since I last dipped into the Rockton series! It hasn‘t felt that long & Armstrong‘s skills meant that she inserted enough reminders that I didn‘t feel like I missed out by not re-reading the first two books! This is an exciting one- genuinely stressful to read at times! My heart made a new home in my throat for a good portion! Plus the plot takes some shocking turns! I can‘t wait to see what comes next!

With exams finally over, and the whole summer ahead of me, it's time to get back into reading 😊❤️

Oliver Brady, a serial killer, is delivered to town b/c his rich stepfather paid the council to house him for 6 months to keep him out of jail. Detective Casey Butler & Sheriff Eric Dalton know they don't have the means to take care of him but they try, until, seemingly with the help of another resident, he makes an elaborate escape and the law enforcement duo have to take to the forest again for a manhunt before Brady kills again.

Book 3 in the Rockton series. Loved it! Seriously can't wait for book 4 to answer some questions.

Another solid delivery from a Kelley Armstrong series.

Sooo I totally thought this was the last book in The City of the Lost series and I couldn‘t be happier to be wrong. I am not done with these characters yet.

It dragged a bit in some parts but made up with some super intense moments. Kelley‘s really good at keeping you guessing until the very last page. Can‘t wait for book four!

Armstrong‘s Rockton series follows Detective Casey Duncan in a secret Yukon town. This is the third book and a great thriller with much of the action taking place in the surrounding wilderness as Casey tries to understand a mysterious stranger. I definitely recommend reading this series from book 1. I can‘t wait for the next one!

Looking forward to the May 22nd premiere of “The Great American Read” on PBS. For those who many not know, “The Great American Read” will spotlight America‘s 100 best-loved novels. Throughout the course of this eight-part series, viewers can vote for their favorites among the 100, and the top best-loved novel in America will be announced in October.

How many of you are familiar with this author? What‘s your favorite book written by her? This Fallen Prey is book #3 in the Casey Duncan series. The two that precede it are #1)City of the Lost and #2) Visions. Was it a good series?

I finished the newest novel in the Rockton series tonight and it was so good! I am addicted to this series and I hope that Kelley Armstrong continues it for a while! I love the characters and how willing they are to work together to solve the crimes! I can‘t wait for another book!

Book 3. Just like the previous book, we have more killers and a whole lot of crazy sauce. The body count is high, and be prepared to lose some named characters. Feels like there should be a big reveal, something strange is going on. I‘ll probably read book 4 to find out.

Book 3 in the Rockton series. There's something about this primitive little town hidden in the Yukon-where people running from their pasts can disappear-that fascinates me. In this book the council sends a serial killer to be housed in Rockton for 6 months, financed by his rich stepfather & Casey & Eric have to deal with the repercussions. Suspenseful, with some good twists & set-up for the next book-can't wait to see where Armstrong goes with it.

Not much time for reading this weekend but trying to finish this one up to go back to the library this week. Kelly Armstrong needs to hurry up and write the next book in this Series. I hope she has it sometime this year and I don't have to wait until next year!

Another excellent thriller by one of my favourite authors. This is the third time we visit the hidden town of Rockton and this time the Counsel has sent Dalton and Casey a resident that they are unprepared, and unequipped, to deal with.

It's been many years since a book store employee pointed to a large display and asked me if I'd ever heard of Kelley Armstrong. I picked up Bitten and became addicted to all things Kelley Armstrong! 4🌟 #27of2018

A dangerous criminal has been delivered to Casey new little town, Rockton. Oliver Brady claims he is being framed but since his arrival people have been dying.

I enjoyed this suspenseful mystery. Towards the end there it got a little confusing with all the other little mysteries that were trying to be solved. And it ended in a cliffhanger damn it! So now I need the next book ASAP.

I‘ve been trying to finish this forever and realized I just. don‘t. care. I feel like the MC was unnecessarily stupid for the first two-thirds of the book and all because of a dog. Luckily for me, @RiotMom read the whole thing and recapped the end and I‘ll just say, I‘m glad I made the decision I did. I‘m bummed. #bookmarkpulled

#MarchMunchies #pasta 🍝Tonight's dinner fits today's foodie prompt. The pasta is a store-bought spinach-ricotta ravioli, but the sauce is homemade pesto. If you saw the carrot soup I posted yesterday, rather than wasting the tops of the 2lbs of carrots I bought by throwing them away, I made carrot top pesto. 😋Yum! 📚I have books ahead of it to read for reviews & such but I couldn't help starting this third book in the Rockton series tonight.🤗

Laundry. Check. Grocery shopping. Check. Drop off books at library. Check.
Now time for a scone, a book, and a mocha.

I did make a quick dash to the library today to drop off two books & pick up two holds (The tagged book & How Not to Die), then the two cookbooks on the bottom fell into my pile from the New Books shelf. Finally I spent $1 at the library bookstore on the top two books-the Jenny Lawson has been on my #TBR list for a while #blameitonlitsy & Waking Up in Eden is a favorite Hawaii-set book I loaned out at some point & never got back. Not a bad haul.👍

This was between a so-so and a pan for me. The premise of this installment into the Casey Duncan series is solid. Bring in a serial killer, chaos ensues! For me, the problems lay in the multiple red herrings that ended up making the plot and especially the last few chapters a convoluted mess. There was just too dang much.

I‘m diving in until this migraine forces me to sleep. Much excite! This was on my #top5mostanticipated list for this year.

It‘s going to take so much willpower to finish what I‘m currently reading and not dive straight into these!! #libraryhaul

Wow. This series continues to surprise me and blow my mind. This book is relentlessly fast-paced and so, so good. Write faster, Kelley Armstrong. And somebody make a Rockton tv show.

In bw pick and so so. I love the premise of this series. It‘s a lot of fun and the characters are interesting and with complex backstories. The problem is the writing. The constant reminders that Casey and Eric are lovers get tiresome. There are too many references to flashes of rage, self recriminations, etc. it just got tedious. Which is too bad bc the story itself had some great twists. But an editor really needs to clean up the writing.

Taking a momentary reading break to admire these stunning views (Salt Lake City, but I'm only passing through...)

The only thing to do when the baby is feeding... start a new book!

Loved it! Kept me guessing right up to the end and the end was left wide open for more books.

I honestly can't believe I've managed to wait this long. The first two in this series are so good.
