One of the most brilliant, beautiful, genuine, raw, loving, honest, hilarious, infuriating, insane, unique, talented, bittersweet, heartbreaking, relatable stories I have ever read. Derek Milman is a remarkable author; and a very sweet human being 🥰✌🏻💜
This paragraph is the best, most amazing paragraph I have ever read.
Ever.
In history.
Of all time.
"Slightly before dinner, Keenan House, the group home where I live, gets a call that my homosexual exorcism is scheduled to take place next Thursday at four.
'But I'm not homosexual. And I'm not possessed.' I say to Len, my counselor.
'You sure?' asks Len. He cracks open a PBR and takes a long, gurgling sip.
'Bet your both' says my roommate, Jude, pulling on his boxing gloves."
#Bookaday Book 7.
Yay or nay?
My physical bookshelves are overflowing and I want to Marie Kondo them a bit.
So, I‘m posting #abookaday of my “maybes” and I hope you can help me decide.
Have you read this book? Should I? ❤️ or a hard pass? Is it on your wish list? Let me know below.
Dario goes back to Moldavia Studios to assist to a "mysterious ceremony", a tribute to his father. That day things got complicated. Between filming horror movies, Dario will learn about his past, parents & will discover himself. Book has dark, morbid humor but also sad ones. It didn't work for me because I was expecting something else but it is cute with a meaningful ending. Maybe I need to re-read it later. #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Share a photo of your first 7 books on the left of any of your bookshelves . Pass it on!
This worked out perfectly because I only have 7 books on the left of this shelf with my Haunted Library.
Thanks for the tag @Eggs ❤️

I am so late getting home tonight and just got to open my #AllHallowsRead swap package. I love everything! I don't have my own copy of The Graveyard Book and it is my favorite Gaiman book! Read the synopsis of Scream All Night and it is one I know I will enjoy! Excellent choice! Candy is always good! The tea towel is already in use and I know I will enjoy the soap. Thank you so much @LibrarianRyan 🧡🎃🖤 BTW, my horse loves Twizzlers.🤣
So at first glance this looks like it might be a horror book, but it really isn't. It is more a coming of age story set at a horror movie studio. We get some behind the scenes looks at the making of a horror movie. But really, this is a young man who grew up in an insane environment, and was abused. He escapes his family only to return for his father's funeral. Interesting choices are made and there is some personal growth.
I almost set this one aside because it wasn't what I expected, but I usually only DNR when a book is truly heinous. I'm glad I stuck it out, because I ended up enjoying it. Plus, the title - who can resist?!?!

I‘m currently reading this book about a family that runs and lives in a movie studio that makes B grade horror movies. I‘m loving it so far.
I also decided to try out my new Martha Stewart skull glasses with my morning chai. I really liked the mug and the way it looked when full.

Thank you @LibrarianRyan for the cool #screamathon gifts. I love the Stranger Things tote bag and those figures are super cute! And I‘m excited to read every one of those books.
I take my #dormouse from the original books where he was lazy, a little off, and a little perpetually drunk. So I give you the main characters brother in Scream all night whose name I can not remember right now.

I devoured this one.....almost literally. Going on my favorites/highly recommend list. It's a unique story with a unique voice. It's heartfelt but with a bit of comedy which is hard to do correctly. I will be watching for more from this author.
I'm a bookworm.
My maiden name is Patricia Williams.
I'm a non-practicing eclectic blood witch.
I think this book was destined for me to read it!
This was a very original story, but it was a mess in some places. It was funny, kooky, over the top, and unrealistic. I'm almost 100% sure it was meant to be campy and messy and I enjoyed it. If it wasn't, then it was a very bad book.
4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔪🗡
Full review GR and LB
“Scream All Night” is the mantra of the Moldovia B Horror movie studio. Think Elvira. This book was so much more than I was hoping it would be going in. I was expecting a blood gory horror novel and instead got the story of a young man trying to live life, and cope with a traumatic and neglected childhood. This filled me and my heart with more empathy and hopefulness than an entire library of Stephen King.
OMG I'm spoiled by @kamoorephoto for #witchpleaseswap. Perfect timing! I've had a rough few days..was in ER with my 13 year old yesterday and she was diagnosed with kidney stones, and work was so crazy today I almost cried on my drive home. BUT then I got your package!! A signed Scream All Night--- ahhhh!! Your note and the cat necklace made me teary in a good way. Witch Born is high on my TBR. Everything is lovely!! THANK YOU! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
This wasn‘t what I expected. I went into it thinking it was a horror story. However, it is a coming of age story about a boy named Dario. He was raised in a castle that was also used as the film studio that makes horror movies. He was emancipated and no longer lives there but is drawn back in after the death of his father. It is a story of him finding himself and fighting against his demons. I really enjoyed the setting and characters.
No where near what I thought it would be but I really enjoyed it. Longer review later.
@JoScho you still interested or did you already get it from the library?
Started the tagged book today. Here is my #🙏🏻TBR its 7 books but lots of them are short.

One of the good things about my job is that I get to meet authors.
Derek Milman is a sweetheart. We talked for about thirty minutes and he‘s so personable. And he signed my book and bookmark!
This book sounds interesting. It‘s a contemporary coming of age novel with some aspects of romance. The protagonist is 17.
Pick it up! Support debut authors - especially the nice ones!
Yeah I don't...I don't get it. Like...what's the point? I've gotten to the last quarter of the book and I'm so bored and exhausted so I'm just giving up.
This is definitely a taste thing. I'm not a big watcher of horror films, let alone cult horror films so I just think a lot of it is going over my head.
I'm very curious about this one and the author is going to be in the TBR and Beyond book group!
I adore this book! I wasn‘t sure what to expect, but the premise was intriguing and I just fell in love. It‘s breezy enough to binge read in one sitting and has the perfect amount of comedy, whimsy, and sadness. Love this!!!
Anyway, now I'm gonna read a book called Scream All Night, which could ALSO be my right now review of Boy, Snow, Bird.
I adore this book! It was a wonderful dark comedy. The author was able to tackle some heavy subjects in a way that wasn‘t too in your face. For lovers of horror films or just films in general this is for you! I loved it!!
#secondstarbookbox was amazing I am absolutely in love with this box
I didn't NEED another book. But...
It seems like my BN only gets the most popular books drop Day. This book dropped last week and they didn't have it. And it was hard to find this week. Another book I was looking for that released yesterday (Sea Witch) was no where to be found either. Then for some odd reason Nexia and Nexia Unleased where rows away from each other. You would think book one and book 2 would be neighbors. It's just odd.
This amazing, unique, heartfelt, and very funny book is out today! I reviewed it as part of its blog tour recently and my horror-movie-loving and ex-filmmaker soul fell in love with it. I made a previous post about it then, but thought I‘d post again now that it‘s out! My full review is here 👉🏼

You won‘t read another book quite like it!
🧛🏼♂️🎥
My review AND #giveaway for just about the most original book this year #ScreamAllNight is UP!🙀
Dario was brought up in Moldavia Castle, where B-horror-movies are made but left when he was 12; now he‘s back to bury his not-dead father. It‘s funny, clever, and endearing.
My film-making heart loved this book; it‘s GENIUS!
Head over 👉🏼

This one sounds like a lot of fun. The author has been promoting it and giving out snippets. It on my TBR.

I've been up since 3:30am (had to take the Hubs to the airport) and for once I'm up and about early enough to have breakfast out before going to work. Enjoying this book while I feed my tummy.
Reads like a B Horror movie script, which of course is my jam.
