#waitingtoberead #falltreasures @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

The 17th book in the Armand Gamache series❣️ the library hold is 16 weeks—can I wait that long....

Librariana Our library has a 4:1 holds ratio - 1 book for every 4 people on the waiting list. One of my co-workers (who assists our Selectors/Librarians) runs a holds ratio report every other week (Adults one week; juvenile the following) and depending on those numbers, we purchase more copies 😊 I hope your library is able to do something similar! 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Did you know she wrote a book with Hilary Clinton? 🥴 3y
Eggs @librariana yes there are 5 copies in use 3y

I have a #MemoirHangover from this beautiful #audiobook. 5⭐️ and one of the best during this #YearOfMemoirs!

Tarana shares her journey from victim to advocate and why she started #MeToo. She has amazing courage. She gave Black girls a way to share their pain long before Alyssa Milano posted to Twitter. I‘m glad so many people have benefited from her work, and I feel privileged to be able to read her story. Thank you, Tarana!

Cinfhen #STACKED !!! I‘ll probably use a credit if I can‘t borrow xx 3y

Precisely what my heart and soul needed. A long, slow meditation on life, love, art, food, and music. There is humor and profound sadness but more than anything, there is humanity. What a gift. ❤️

Tamra I might need to check this one out! 3y

Lisey's Story: A Novel | Stephen King

I read this years ago when first published (translation: I‘ve forgotten all of it!) and am listening to the audio for a reread. I‘m a big SK fan, but I‘m only 20% in and already so over the “Scott talk!” The whole “smucking” thing might have been cute if mentioned a couple of times, but on its 47th usage—not so much!! Enough already! 🤦‍♀️ The cover is cool, though. I do have this edition.

MayJasper That cover is really rather wonderful. 3y
CindyMyLifeIsLit @MayJasper I know! I bought a second copy of the book just to get that cover. 😁 3y

MayJasper I understand completely 😊 3y
JenlovesJT47 Since you listened to the audiobook, I‘m curious how you pronounce Lisey. I plan on reading it soon and I hate when I‘m not sure how to pronounce something that shows up a million times throughout the book. 3y
CindyMyLifeIsLit @JenlovesJT47 The narrator pronounced it “Lee-see.” I think there‘s a line in the book that addresses it. 3y
JenlovesJT47 Ok cool, thanks! 🤗 3y

I've only read the first book in this series, back when it first came out, and l remember really enjoying it. Then l bought the entire series, but the last book, which l never found.
I suppose I'll have to hunt for it online. I love these editions 😍

Nute I like that cover art. The font is really cool, too! 3y

I really enjoyed this #LMPBC pick. It‘s my favorite this round. Not perfect, but a fun thriller that had me guessing , with a great location.
I put in a printout of what I think the mask looked like. It‘s what I kept picturing in my head anyway.

Starting Emma for #pemberlittens chapter a day. I haven‘t read this one yet either. Clueless is one of my favorite movies so I‘m excited to finally read this and compare! 🤓

Out of all the Chiltern editions of Austen‘s novels, this one is definitely my favorite. 😍💐

MayJasper So beautiful #coversublime 4y
magyklyXdelish Ooooooooooooohhh that cover got me like 😍🤤 4y
sprainedbrain I agree, this is the prettiest Chiltern! 😍 4y
Moonprismpower Yes! I‘ve decided I‘ll be on the lookout for things I can relate to Clueless. Do you think Emma‘s nanny/teacher was supposed to be Miss Geist? I guess I‘ll have to keep reading to find out. (edited) 4y

Mehso-so

I do love historical fiction with dual timelines, and I had very high hopes for this one, but it fell a little flat in places for me. The historical storyline was cool, and I loved the mystery and secrecy of the apothecary shop. The modern-day storyline was a bit out there and eyeroll-inducing. Still, I couldn‘t stop reading and loved the little mini-tour I took of London.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

MayJasper A shame it wasn't more engaging for you. I love the cover #coversublime 4y
samantharoberts Wow I love this cover 😍 4y
sprainedbrain @MayJasper @samanthagutt it IS a gorgeous cover! And the book isn‘t bad! 4y
marleed When dual timelines work, they are among my favorite reading experiences. I realize this when I‘m content to be reading either story. But when I‘m racing through a timeline to get back to the other - that‘s when the pointy tips of my star-rating start dropping off! 4y
sprainedbrain @marleed exactly! I do love multiple timelines, but it‘s probably hard to make them all equally good. Kate Morton comes to mind as someone who can do that expertly, in my humble opinion. ☺️ 4y
