@Nutmegnc @CrowCAH @KateReadsYA I‘ve received your tea & cards for #litsyteaswap. I‘m looking forward to trying them all, and I really enjoyed the aesthetics of the cards. This morning, I am enjoying Cynthia‘s tea pick. I love green tea + jasmine. @maich @sarahbellum @LiseWorks @LapReader @jenniferw88
I ❤️ this 📖! If you love period pieces, vintage, and atmospheric reads, choose it. Do note: this is not top of the line historical fiction; it‘s a fictionalized tale of Victorian England & turn-of-the century NY. Some of it is far-fetched; it relies heavily on the good v. evil binary, which creates a one-dimensional POV. Don‘t expect the 📖 to be what it is not. Read it for what it is - a delicious, melodramatic slow burn with a fierce female MC.
1. I set my # as 60. In all candor, I don‘t care about the # of books just as long as I‘m making time each day to read. I also want to read the books on my TBR and TBF shelves. 2. It‘s a phrase - Steadily Riding the Waves 3. ❤️ the tagged book. It is from my TBF shelf. #thoughtfulthursday @MoonWitch94
This has been on my shelf for ages. I‘m finally digging in. Quite the #chunkster at 557 pages.
I thought this had promise, but I ended up skimming much of the second half. Too many coincidences, too much going on, yet it felt very slow-moving. I won‘t be reading the next one.
So I was looking around on my shelves and I happened to notice that I have a lot of chunksters that I have not read yet. I would really like to get through them all.
I am thinking of dubbing next year (2020) as the #YearOfTheChunksters
Who's with me??? 😃
Who's got a bunch of really big books that they want to get through next year????
Tosay I finished the #audiobook. I like the book but some sequences are very long. It is a wonderful lovestory which played in the 19. Century. I like how Donnelly describe the roles of women in the society. I don't like that Jack the Ripper have a role in the book. Why in the most books which play in the 19. Century in London Jack has a role?
I had this also as book in my shelf. At the spine is a rose, so it's a book boon for #bookbingo
I like the story but the dialect was distracting and the characters weren‘t quite engaging enough to read the rest
I start with an #audiobook day two of #24B4Monday
Yesterday I heard and read 3:37 hrs.
#catsoflitsy
I listend to the audio-book and it was a welcomed take-away to another time in history. Even though the beginning seemed outstretched it took on some speed until you get pulled in😄😉 you had time to get to know the characters and feel with them, especially Fiona (main character). 😊
I started to listen do audio-books and I really like it! This one wouldn't normally fit the genres I read most but I like being told a story... Now I find myself enjoying historical books as well ^^
Welp, I overslept and have 14.5 hours of reading left to do today, so I think it's safe to say I'm not making my 24 hour goal. But let's see how far I can get! I'm currently at 9hr22m. For the #24in48 #undertheradar challenge, my pick is The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. It‘s been one of my faves for over 10 years. The whole series is amazing. It has everything - history, romance, adventure, kick-ass ladies - what more could you want?! @24in48
Fiona Finnegan knows about hard work - this is the first book in an epic trilogy that chronicles Fiona‘s dream to own a tea business. I love Donnelly‘s books! #SheWorksHardFortheMoney #FierceFeb
Spicy, such as chai, is great but I usually go with neither.
Both!
Green
Tulsi pomegranate green (only theirs, all other pomegranate flavors are too sweet or weird)
Blueberry rooibos...it was a bad experience haha
#TBRtemptation post 2! This is the 1st installment in the The Tea Rose series. East London, 1888, Fiona works in a tea factory hoping to one day own a shop with her love, Joe, a costermonger's son. Her dreams crumble when a he encounters a dark, brutal man and, fleeing death, travels to NYC. She'll eventually climb to the top of Manhattan's tea trade. She'll have to go back to London to confront the past though. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
“In a year, the world would be theirs. Anything was possible.” ~Jennifer Donnelly, The Tea Rose
Refreshing story which reminded me a little bit of ‘the count of monte cristo‘. The other two novels in the ‘rose series‘ are on my tbr list!😍
Dilemmas! Just started in ‘de theeroos‘ which is pretty thick... it was on my tbr pile since my birthday (August), but today the newest novel of Dan Brown came in for me at the library!😱
I GOT A TEA ROSE TODAY AND MY FIRST THOUGH WAS THAT'S A BOOK!!!! LOL
I can't remember anything but that I loved it so I think I should find a copy and re-read it.

I didn't finish this book. Something rubbed me the wrong way and I gave up half-way in.
I read this book about 7 years ago and it's the book that really got me into reading . I could not put this one down !
Enjoying a cup of ginger lemon tea in my "mana-tea" cup while reading this lovely book. Such a light-hearted treat for the senses and the perfect foil to the darkness and woe of The Handmaid's Tale which I just finished on audio.
4/52 Reading challenge. Could not put it down! Exactly my cup of tea. 😉 Lovely and dramatic! I have started the second in the series and I'm hooked!
Loved this book in the beginning. Found it a little melodramatic 3/4 of the way through and got sucked backed in near the end. Definitely recommend to people that like historical fiction 😊🌹
Still working on this very big book that I had set aside during the holiday craziness-Hopi g to lose myself in it during some downtime this weekend
On to The Tea Rose for #tometopple. Hoping to make some progress in the next week 😊
The other stack of books I bought today. Bless used book sales for letting me buy more books for less money than a standard hardcover.
My #recommendsday pick is one of my all-time favorite books ever. I first read it my sophomore year of high school and it's the first thing I suggest when someone asks for a book recommendation. It's got everything - beautiful settings, great time period, mystery, romance, travel - and you should read it!
The Tea Rose series by Jennifer Donelly is one of my all-time favorites! Definitely due for a reread. #24in48
My much loved copy of The Tea Rose. I've read this quite a few times over the years since I bought it. Such a great story.
I stumbled upon Jennifer Donnelly's The Tea Rose several years ago, and what a happy surprise! The "rose" trilogy is by far my favorite historical fiction series - deliciously engrossing story, characters, writing, everything! Her YA books are also excellent!
One of my all-time favorite books. I adore this entire series. Full of strong ladies, romance and mystery. A definite must-read.
