I really like this book when I‘m reading it but not one I rush to pick up if that makes sense 🤔
I really like this book when I‘m reading it but not one I rush to pick up if that makes sense 🤔
This book and the two others in the series are on sale today only for 2.99 each on kindle. I had to buy them 🤷♀️
Thinking of starting a reading project and reading a biography/memoir of each president (or the biggies at least). Starting with Jefferson cause he was on hand 😊🤷♀️
So far a great beginning to what I‘ve heard is an amazing series. Engaging and grabs you from the beginning. I am loving the complex characters...
Two thirds through this great book. It‘s kept me up and reading til 1 am all week 😳
Time for some epic fantasy and this one is blowing me away so far!
This was a very good book. Not his best but engaging and fast paced. I really was impressed with the fact that King had no qualms about taking out major characters. I do wish that there was a bit more character development regarding Ralph. Loved the sense of dread that I felt as the story progressed but didn‘t love the way the very end seemed slightly rushed and I felt like King maybe grasped at some supernatural straws to wrap it up.
32% in on my kindle. Soooo good and I‘m super excited cause I managed to grab The Hearts Invisible Furies and The Women in the Castle on the kindle daily deal. It‘s been a great bookish day ❤️📚
Enjoying one of my favorite mystery series on a Saturday night ❤️
A classic to offset the sci fi -sure why not?
A little sci fi-don‘t mind if I do 😊
I really liked this book. I felt like the pacing was a little off though....it was very very bleak for 3/4 of the book then tied itself up into a nice neat bow right near the end. I really did enjoy how well fleshed out the characters were though. You got why the “bad” guys were bad and the “good” guys weren‘t perfect. It was a tough read and even at the end when they tied it up you knew the characters still had mountains to climb
Sick and on the couch but enjoying this and finally finishing up the amazing Pillars of the Earth -I‘m making the best of this flu/virus thingy 😂
I‘m so technically challenged.....but could someone tell me how to copy the fun surveys/ questions that are often posted. Sorry 😬
Current reading situation. Not able to settle and read much over the weekend and realizing a 12 hour midnight shift is in my future tonight 😩
Loved this book. A mystery, a thriller and a sad ghost story. Well rounded and an all in all really good book. It was effortless to keep reading and finish this one 😊📚
In a book slump so looking for a book to “grab” me (hoping this is it because I now have too many in progress) and I just wanted to say what a lovely community I think Litsy is. I adore reading everyone‘s thoughtful posts about books because reading is one of my greatest joys.
A little historical fiction to add to the thriller mix that I‘ve been reading tons of lately. Very detailed with tons of beautiful imagery, it‘s just what I‘m in the mood for tonight 😊🤓📚
Hanging with this sweet girl after her surgery and starting a new thriller I‘m excited about 😊🐶
I slogged through this book until about the 50% mark and wasn‘t sure I was going to get through it. I‘m not a big romance person but love history but it felt like the author was taking a piece of history and just plugging her story in the spaces and was so choppy. At about halfway though, the story focused more on the historical characters and definitely found its stride. I even enjoyed the romantic element lol. Will read more books by her!
I am such a nerd that sometimes I take notes on my books. Just saw on a book group I follow that someone uses Index cards as bookmarks and uses them to take notes as they read. Simple but brilliant! I need to get out more lol
My 13 yr year old self loved this book. It has a special place in my heart as it was the last gift given to me by my Grandpa on my 13th birthday three days before we lost him. Thirty six years later, I think it‘s time for a reread ❤️
I am on the fence with picking and making this a so so review. I like the beginning and the end but there was a very muddled 75 pages in the middle and I kinda wanted to give the main character a shake a few times. She was a bit whiny and I found the story slightly......far fetched.
Finished it! I feel drained but what an amazing book! It made me feel exhilarated and melancholy at the same time if that‘s possible.....I feel like I know the characters inside and out. Their descriptions and the voices the author gave them literally brought them to life. Some people say this is the weakest of this trilogy. It was my favorite ❤️
Eighty percent through this on my kindle. Getting ready for my heart to shatter. Not leaving my couch til it does 😢
A “brand new to me” author that I‘m very excited about! I‘ve been trying to only read one book at a time and have been doing pretty good but just couldn‘t resist starting this! Anyone read her stuff?
I can‘t say it changed my life but it was a fun quick read to break up a little stuck spot in the epic fantasy I‘m currently reading. Not an earth shattering twist but I did find the characters interesting enough to keep me turning the page 😊
Reading this one in between Assassin‘s Quest. Sometimes one needs a short break during an epic high fantasy read 😉
And moving directly onto this one lol-needed something completely different from Fall of Giants to avoid a book slump 😬
Loved this book! It was huge and took me about three weeks but it was worth it. Tons of history with just enough juicy stuff to keep it from getting too stuffy 😉
And.....this guy and I are back to reading Fall of Giants (at least I am-he's a slacker). Obsessed with history right now 😬🐶
A pick for me. Not a completely mind blowing ending but felt like this was what made it a stronger book. The characters felt like real people and how real people would respond in extreme circumstances.
Looking for recommendations for books on history, historical figures....especially European history and revolutionary war periods....
Got this as a birthday gift from my son after finding Gwendys Button Box as a daily deal and having The Lying Game come up on my overdrive. A wealth of reading material on my birthday after a hard week 😊
Just started this -any thoughts? Has anyone read it?
This is the type of book to read on a rainy grey day but I finished it up on a sunny 90 degree day. It made it no less amazing. Haunting, sad but beautiful, I was fine with the time it took to unravel this mystery. It really was about the storytelling. It felt kinda like a dark fairytale and the imagery was so good that it played like a movie in my head. I can't believe I let this book sit on my tbr shelf for two years.....
Visited my library book sale and found these amazing editions of some of George Eliots work 😊. #classics #usedbookshavesoul
Amazing, heart wrenching , and uplifting at the same time. Such a realistic account of someone trying to navigate their way through a loved ones mental illness while trying to maintain normalcy and not let it completely define their lives.
Just started and I think it's going to be a good one....
I have been getting better about not forcing myself to finish books but I forced myself to finish this (I think cause my husband did). It was mediocre writing and a ridiculous story. I'm honestly not sure what the hype was about 😳
Horrible reading slump for the last month! I feel hopeful the last few days...Reading The Final Girls with a chapter of Bleak House a day to mix it up 😜
Overdrive strikes again 😬
I can't even describe how much I love this book.....as corny as it sounds, the ending left me relieved but melancholy at the same time for what Fitz went through. Part of me wants to start the third in this trilogy but another part thinks I should wait to avoid becoming oversaturated and spoiling my reading experience. If you have not started this amazing book journey, please start now!
