Started this audiobook while on vacation, but didn‘t listen much. Today, at home and the first day back at work, I delved into the world of Temeraire!

Bluebird I‘ve just started reading my first Naomi Novik book: Uprooted. I also have book 1 of the Temeraire series in my TBR pile. Sounds like a great series! 3y
CrowCAH @Bluebird I‘ve only stuck with the Temeraire series of Novik‘s. They‘re enjoyable! 3y

Sometimes you just need to read a book about dragons 🐲. This is the 4th in the Temeraire series. It's historical fiction, Napoleonic era with dragons. I know you're intrigued. They're excellent.

This weekend was so pleasant: I‘d been concerned that I had nothing good to read, so I picked this one up off my shelf and oh, what a delight. Being back in the world of temeraire and Laurence was exactly what I needed. I adored book 1 in this series, absolutely snored through book 2 (it sets some important groundwork tho), but 3 onwards 😍 this one is number 4 and was fabulous. Dragons, war, friendship, history. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Caroline2 Oh I‘ve had book 1 on my tbr shelf for years now...sounds like I need to move it up the pile. 👍 5y
sarahgreatlove Book 1 is amazing! And unlike other series, I‘ve found it easy enough to remember details even if I take a break between books. It‘s so nice to have something you enjoy to come back to. 5y

Continuing my rereading with the fourth book in this series.

Temeraire and Laurence finally return to England only to find the aerial corps devastated by sickness. Realizing that they know the cure, Laurence and friends travel to Africa to find the mushroom that saved Temeraire from the same disease.

The audio is fabulously read by Simon Vance.

Badly hurt my neck from doing nothing at all (ugh thanks EDS3) so I'm having a read in bed earlier than I planned.
And can we just take a moment to appreciate the book covers?

Just finished and that ending... I'm scared. 😢 Even though I know there are more books after this one. The first book still remains my favorite of the series but I still liked this one and want to see what happens next. B

2017 #56 fantasy audio the last few books are good but feel transitional as if we have to get to the inevitable battle via a circuitous route. Good story and plenty of excitement. The body count keeps going up and the interesting choices keep getting more radicle. +

After a bit of a lull that the previous two books were, Empire of Ivory is fast-paced and dramatic. Not much of aerial combat here - mostly exploration and character development. Dragons are, as always, more memorable than humans

The story definitely picks up in this book and the story ranges from England to Africa and back. It deals with the issue of the slave trade serving as a good reminder that the Napoleonic War is not the only important issue in this time people even when you add dragons.
