Pickpick

I am osolating between so-so and a light pick. This was a struggle for me. It took me almost 2 months to read. But I can see why people are charmed by it. It feels like another book that I should have read in my late teens early 20s to get the full pleasure and nostalgia for. But in my mid-40s it just feels a bit too forced, I didn't like Cassandra and the only person I really cared for was Stephen. Poor Stephen.

Random book from our home library:

📖 Warwick Castle [souvenir guide - not in Litsy]

I have lots of souvenir guides to places in the UK that I've never visited. I believe I even have two different editions of this one. Have I mentioned that I'm an Anglophile bibliophile?

This book was delightful! Oh to be young and silly again and have your whole life ahead of you! And who doesn‘t want to live in a castle with an eccentric family surrounded by nature?!?!?!? I found a lot of this book to be amusing but especially the shenanigans on the train! Hilarious! 💙💙💙💙💙

TheKidUpstairs Beautiful edition! 3w
LeahBergen Love this book! 3w

#BookReport

Only 2 finished last week. I read the tagged book after seeing it recommended on a Parnassus Books video. It sounds like it is a much loved coming of age story. I did enjoy it but didn‘t love it.

I also enjoyed the Pride & Prejudice continuation by McLeod.

ChaoticMissAdventures I am reading this because of that video too! I am only a third of the way in and agree with you, it is okay. 3w
monalyisha I‘m part of the “much-love” camp! 3w
ChaoticMissAdventures @monalyisha did you read it as a youngster? I have this theory on books like this. I feel like if I had read this in my teens/20s I would have gotten so much more out of it. 3w
monalyisha Hmm…late 20‘s. I think I was 27. I was thoroughly charmed. I thought it was quirky and cozy, with a strong setting and thoughtful spiritual ruminations. The movie, on the other hand? Blech. 3w

I‘m trying to keep my recent reads firmly planted in the Middle Ages.

#MondayMood

Another Monday wondering what 💩 will hit the fan this week. I‘m going to read the tagged book for the first time. I think it will be a nice escape.

AmyG I think this every day. 😥 1mo

Really enjoying this series. The first book was really good and this one was also. Looking forward to book three and hoping the series lasts because I‘m already attached.

3✨ I feel like these books are really rushed. It‘s a great read for young kids to boost confidence. I‘m wondering in the notes are a build up as well. The first two books are building up a mystery in the series that might give the books more main plot than going to other places from their magical treehouse. #SeriesLove
