As part of my Christmas reading/listening, last week I listened to the first Harry Potter. It have been some years since I read it and I really enjoyed remembering all those tiny little details that the world of Hogwarts is about.

I needed to get out of my reading slump...
It doesn't even need a review, really, does it? An absolute classic.
βIt does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.β
This book is it not one that I would do a lesson on because it is so long. However, it would be a fun read for any child.
Book #1. Read this with my kiddo. Still one of my faves.

I always love a good fantasy book and the Harry Potter novels never disappoint. The pot of the book is awesome and great for all ages. I also enjoy watching the characters grow up over the course of the series.
Teen Novel

This story is one that I would love to get to read as a chapter book to one of my classes. It is so descriptive and shows how we can create the imaginative worlds and put them into writing. I think this would engage young readers and get the exciting about both reading and writing. You could also go off and create whole lessons in different subjects based on this book.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone is a wonderful speculative fiction book that follows Harry Potter who learns about a world of wizardry that he was born into on his 11th birthday. The first book looks into his first year at boarding school which is at a school for wizards, and introduces the magical world of Hogwarts and the friends and adventures he encounters along the way.
πStrong, quiet, dedicated
ππ I don‘t mind this perspective, but personally doesn‘t entirely capture my essence but others might disagree I guess
πππ I‘ve been trying to think all day about this and really can‘t think of much, maybe Hermione Granger is the one that comes to mind, especially since rereading this with our boys right now.

If I had gone to a boarding school, I would have wanted it to be Hogwarts. Or Beauxbatons, like Fleur Delacour.
Borrowed the book from my daughter for the photo π

Hogwarts was the best boarding school and I wish I could attend!

A fun read, loved the illustrated version, looking forward to Book 2. π§
Confession time: I‘ve never made it through Harry Potter, but I‘ve read Book 1 and part of Book 2 so long ago I can‘t really remember. I‘ve collected various versions (originals, illustrated, Kindle, audio, the set with Hogwarts on the spine), so I‘m all set to make it happen. Here we (the dogs and I) goβ¦π§ββοΈ
Rereading the series with @ruthmoeller for the millionth time. It always brings me such comfort. I couldn‘t help noticing this time how incredible Mrs. Weasley and Hagrid are to Harry. Before either of them even know him well, they welcome him and make him feel like family with gifts at Christmas, kind words, and an understanding that he needs friends and not fans. Also, Hogwarts is a ridiculously dangerous school to send your kids to. π€£

1- Nope
2- I'm guessing quidditch counts, because other than the Harry Potter books, I can't think of any.

1) Yes, when I‘m pressed for time and can‘t forget anything. The fam has been living off my to-do list for getting ready for vacation overseas (we leave tomorrow)
2) Tagged. Not sure who sets the student schedules, or perhaps it‘s wizardry. π π§

Great read & love the movies .
This was a lot of fun! We got to see the movie with a symphony playing the score. So much cheering and yelling! The nerd in me had a blast!
Finally got Butterbeer at Harry Potter World in Orlando, FL!
Rather than a welcome it is a welcome back for me!
I went through a few very rough years and then rage-deleted my profile when the android thing happened. However, I missed this community so much. When I finally ended up with an Ipad I knew I had to come back.
So excited to see so many of the old faces still here!!!
