Halfway through.. in love so far. Anyone else anticipating the release of book #2?
Ok @CSeydel I‘m calling it! Shield of Sparrows was my favorite book of the year! 🎉 This was a year of epic Sanderson fantasy and finding tons of new authors. Wishing everyone a great 2026!

The middle of this book gets bogged down (seems to maybe be a theme for Broadbent‘s second-half of a duology), but otherwise, I loved this.
The characters continued to grow, the twists continued to surprise me, and the romance continued to make me swoon.
The epilogue has me *very* interested in the final duology. Can‘t wait to see what she does with it!
Ooh my #2025readingbracket is filling up fast! My favorite this month was Shield of Sparrows and I used my last wild card spot for my second favorite this month Conform. I cannot make a decide between Onyx or Shield though. I just know one of them will be my favorite of the year!
pickThe hype was alll real for me. This was right up my alley- a great epic love story, magic, TONS of secrets, great world building, and quite the cliffhanger ending! I was hooked, engrossed, borderline obsessed. 🤣 Might end up being my favorite book of the year. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

pickWow! OMG the second one needs to come out asap. I loved Odesa, the Guardian & Zavier. That cliffhanger! I need more of this world & these characters. I feel like I am writing with Odesa‘s inner monologue. SJM has a run for her money with this one. I may be in a book hangover for this one. I had only read one other book by this author which was just as engrossing who is fast becoming an auto read for me!!!
