Yeah I‘m giving this a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating only because I can see how this would appeal to some readers. For me the FMC was a brat. Full stop. I grew to the point at the end I didn‘t care how this shook out in the end. #100readschallenge

I really had high hopes for this book because the main character sounded interesting and the hunky book boyfriend sounded different and intriguing. However, the point of view was extremely confusing and the male characters in the book were continually getting blurred together. I also found the plot to be slow and the villain to be a bit boring. Overall I liked the Sage a lot and there were some funny scenes, but I won't be continuing the series.
(Just HAD to take a pretty pic, as the cover & spine are gorgeous). Anyway, this book ended up surprising the heck out of me. I was actually starting to feel kind of let down because the writer is so sweet, but I was feeling a bit bored & confused for the 1st half of it. And then I wasn‘t. I had been tricked, just like Sage was (great writing) & it became awesome! Love the cunning & wits of the MCs. Love their relationship. Ordering the next 2.
I absolutely really enjoyed reading this book. There's romance, adventures and mysteries. The story, in my opinion, was inspired by Mulan, but in a very unique way. It's definitely the kind of book that will have you worried for the characters and that you won't put down.
I really recommend this one!
This was such a fun book, I read it in one sitting. Not really remarkable or all that different from other YA fantasy; it felt familiar. Even so, I loved it and was fully absorbed in the espionage and romance. It also broke a massive reading slump and reminded me how I love being immersed in a good story. Fantastic read. ❤️❤️
Our days usually go like this when she visits @BooksTeasAndBookishThings ♥️ I ain‘t mad about it 😉💋 #BookHaul

Why would you kill off the best character and then expect the reader to still care whether or not the main dude ends up with his little girlfriend?!
I'm only a few chapters in but I'm already struggling with the alternating POV. I have no interest in the second character yet and I'm tempted to skip through his chapters. From a hint the company made, its sequel may be part of my subscription box this month. I'm torn. Continue or put it on the back burner?
Books with maps are better than books without maps, right?
#DailyDeal This book has a lot of mixed reviews. But for $2.99, I‘ll give it a go. Also the ENTIRE James Bond series by Ian Fleming is on sale for $1.99 per book, there are 14.

Well done. Some characters were confusing but overall I really enjoyed this book and the connections with other characters.
#bookmail part one! Got this confused with another title so hoping it's good!
Newbies from a study-reward-Barnes & Noble trip 😍😍 !!! Note that both have STUNNING covers !!!
I have started or already in the middle of way too many books right now. This one is just so darn pretty though I just have to start it. Besides, I am really in the mood for a good "escape" story
Ok, so there was a lot I really liked about the book. The plot and world building were fabulous and the hero "Mouse" was complex and interesting BUT I have to agree with some other reviews I've read, There is some iffy racial stereotyping happening in parts of the book and the heroine is really unnecessarily mean in parts and judgy about other girls.
I never win anything!!! But I was lucky enough to win the giveaway that Erin Beaty had for her book The Traitor's Kiss. It's also annotated by her. I can't wait to read it!
I liked this book! The ending reminded me of Royal Bastards. I really enjoyed the main characters and despite all the "people pretending to be other people," I was able to pretty easily keep track of everyone. I liked the links between politics and military and the role of the matchmakers in everything. Another book where I thought "oh, i like this character...they're definitely not going to survive" and I was right...another George RR Martin ??
I'm trying to read new books within the first 30 days of getting it so that's why I'm picking this one up...not because of the gorgeous cover... 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Not because of the gorgeous cover
Honestly? I was underwhelmed. I bought it based off the gorgeous cover, but the story was lackluster. I found myself skimming through and not connecting with the characters. I truly couldn't have cared less whether they lived or died? The military and politics of the book's world were boring and there were also several moments that felt especially dark, out of sync with the rest of the story. It wasn't bad but I didn't love it.
Got this beauty in the May BookLoot "Fierce Fems" themed box!
Probably won't be getting their box again anytime soon but the cover is gorgeous!
Omg I'm so happy this is a series! And no there wasn't a cliffhanger I just need more of this world! I am in love with Sage, Alex, Ash, and all the amazing characters! I normally don't love fantasies that don't have magic but I loved this! The world building was amazing and like I said the characters were fantastic! Book 2 now please!!!
