This book was such a ridiculous let down for me. I think maybe hardcore fans will find it an acceptable end to the duology, but I was really disappointed. It felt like a long and wandering trek through Liesel‘s depressed state. The fiery relationship between her and the Goblin King was almost entirely missing, and there weren‘t many redeeming moments of success or joy or romance or whatever to balance out the frustrating and sluggish main plot.

Just do yourself a favor and jump on this bandwagon now. I‘ve read a lot of fae books lately and this one really stands out as unique and interesting. Yes, it‘s a bit of a fluffy read. I find most fae books are, and that‘s what I like about them, the formula and the familiarity. But this one packs enough twists to truly entertain.

Amazing! I'm a sucker for storm powers, so I was super excited to read this. It didn't disappoint!
The first couple chapters worried me because I they seemed to introduce a couple falling head over heels for no reason and the MC seemed very unsure and annoying, but as soon as the exposition ended and the tide turned, it was great. Loved it.

I adored this book. It was refreshing and light but without being fluffy.
The interaction of the main characters reminded me a lot of Howl‘s Moving Castle, cantankerous wizard meets average but not so average town girl. 
The magic was written simply but beautifully and there were many beautiful quotes that stayed with me after reading.The ending was satisfying but also left me imagining what might happen next.
Highly recommend.

Honestly? I was underwhelmed. I bought it based off the gorgeous cover, but the story was lackluster. I found myself skimming through and not connecting with the characters. I truly couldn't have cared less whether they lived or died? The military and politics of the book's world were boring and there were also several moments that felt especially dark, out of sync with the rest of the story. It wasn't bad but I didn't love it.

This book represents everything I love about sci-fi. I often felt like I was reading a tv show, with a ragtag crew and a rich universe where diversity and humanity was explored with grace and profundity. There is almost no difficult aspect of the human experience that I did not find reflected in Chambers universe. She offers a quiet commentary that is in no way preachy and in every way inspiring. Sci-fi that makes you look at the stars again.

As a lover of myth and urban fantasy, I adore these books. There's also a hint of Wild West that creates a nice fusion. The main character is a super capable sharp-shooting bandit turned magic-wielder but has to confront the limitations of being part djinn in a world run by humans. It felt very fresh but at the same time rooted in old myth and legend and rich tradition. The minor characters were equally well-crafted and the plot action-packed.

A lovely little tale pulling from folk myth. The story was a bit slow and the MC's weren't particularly lovable but it was a good fluffy story.

Stiefvater's books are all about the vibe, and this one makes me feel like cloudy beach days and morning wind on a hill top and and running in the rain.
"I am so, so alive." Is such a beautiful quote, and it really sums up this story about fighting for what you want and what you love.

Honestly, I always find these books unengaging. The world-building and romance is enough to keep me buying the next one, and I keep them on my shelves rather than the garage-book-dungeon because they're pretty, but I find myself skimming through. I don't care what happens to half the characters and I find the plot not necessarily predictable but somehow uninteresting? There are plenty of ups and downs but I still find myself bored.

Truly astounding. From the cover, I expected another light and enjoyable YA read (like so many of the hyped up books I've read lately) but it was so much more than that. This book is deep and surprising as the ocean that Nicholas loves so well, as witty and refined as the main character herself. Truly a well-crafted read that addicted me in a way I haven't experienced since ACoMaF was released.

Honestly an amazing read. One of the rare books to stand apart from the YA crowd with a surprising and unique world, plot and characters. 10/10 would recommend.

Idk I was kind of disappointed in Caraval? It was just….good. Not great, not surprising or heart wrenching or breathtaking. It was just a fluffy book, which isn‘t bad but I expected more. Especially because the subject matter had so much room for innovation. Also, I found the main character and her sister insufferable. Again, I enjoyed it and thought it was worth buying but imo it just didn‘t have that spark that the beautiful cover implied.

My only problem with this book is that the first chapter makes it seem like a Western rather than the fantasy novel that it is. It's a truly unique take on old myths with a rich setting. This story actually kept me guessing and enthralled in its unique world. Perfect for those searching for something a little different.

Words actually cannot express how much I truly love these books. The characters are like family, the mythology is intoxication, the writing is superb, and Blue is impossibly relatable.
If you like stories where a band of misfits becomes a family, obscure mythology, or beautiful words that stay in your head, this is for you.
I cannot recommend highly enough.
If there's one book you take a chance on, let it be The Raven Boys.

If you can't find a quote from this book that speaks to your soul, maybe you don't have one. It's a truly beautiful, whimsical novel that somehow manages to whisk you away to a more magical place while keeping its feet on the ground.

This book surprised me. As a rule, I find adult fantasy to be overwrought and pretentious, but this has just the right amount of magic and world-building without being exhausting. The characters were truly wonderful and their relationships felt rich without being plagued with the needless and repetitive tropes often found in period fantasies.

Maybe the front cover blurb by Sarah J. Mass gave me unrealistic expectations of this book, but I found it a little dry and slow. In the end though, it picked up speed and was written with enough unique mythology make me interested in reading the next one.
