FIFTY SHADES DARKER
FIFTY SHADES DARKER: (Book 2) | E. L. James
Three days since leaving Christian, Anastasia "Ana" Steele has begun her job at Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP), where she has been hired as personal assistant to editor Jack Hyde. Ana gets an uneasy feeling about him as he continually asks her out, but writes it off. Christian emails her to see if she needs a ride to her friend Jose Rodriguez's gallery exhibit in Portland, which she had forgotten about until Christian emailed her. The pair attend the show together and reconcile their relationship by making out in an alley and visiting a restaurant together. Christian buys Jos's portraits of Ana for selfish reasons, one of which is to prevent random people from buying them and displaying them in their homes, and the second is for his own amusement.

I just couldn‘t put this book down. Honestly one of the best trilogy‘s I‘ve ever read and it‘s only the second book. I can‘t wait to read the third. It‘s funny, erotic and a bit of thriller added to the mix. Everything I could ever ask for in a book is in this one. Highly recommend. #12 read book 2 of a trilogy

Less toxic, more character growth. I enjoy the little drips of his past that leak through. And the niggling a certain characters that turn out to be important.

This was a reread for me. I still love this book and this series. I like the action that is in this one. It is of course steamy too! I also love all the side characters like Kate, Mia and Taylor.

And thats that, the end of the Fifty Shades journey (unless of course James writes us some more, im begging for a prequel on Elena and Christian if she's taking requests. BDSM is far more fun with willing participants rather than cry babies who sleep a lot).

Much preferred being inside Christian's head than Anastasia's thats for sure!

Not going to become a classical piece of fiction anytime soon, but compared to the first installment, Fifty Shades of Grey, this one does have more character development, plot and more of an overall storyline.

Ana (who still drives me crazy with her indecisiveness) has found her way back into Christian‘s arms. Their love story just continues to grow as does Ana‘s career. Drama at every corner for these two!

It was okay, but nothing special.

suzie.reads I've never read a worse piece of writing than the fifty shades trilogy. I found it appalling but my god Jamie Dornan in the films ❤ 5y

Oh sigh...

Recently read the first in this trilogy so I thought I might as well give the second one it‘s listen.

I will admit to liking this one better than the previous one. More of a plot I suppose.

Something to do while I walk. About forty percent through.

Up front: I have not seen this film, but I read the books. Had to know what the fuss was about.

I would caption this seen as follows.

Jane Fonda looks great as a redhead!

Ok, now allow me to be a party pooper. They make a movie about a book club and its topic is Christian Grey? So disappointing. I blame Stephenie Meyer and her sparklepires. 💩

Jess7 I was looking forward to this based on early previews but recent previews made it very much based around the 50 shades series 🤮 6y

Well book number 2 down. See happily ever after all as predicted. So many things wrong with this story. A true fairy tale for sure. I hate how the ending makes me hope for love and partially admire them. But in no way do I want to back down that terrible road. Real life is not a fairy tale.

Excuse my language but holy F***!!! On page 334 past the scene with the ex in Ana‘s apartment and after the forever kneeling. Pure panic engulfed me when he screamed at Ana to go to leave him with her/it. This book is so fucked up and unrealistic. Pure fantasy hoping to changes Fifty into something he is not nor ever will be. Only in story world will it ever be possible. I was her hoping and praying and killing myself my soul for him.

BrandedCowgirl I wish people actually discussed books on here. Am I the only one mentally torturing myself? But I can‘t seem to stop!! I f****** hate how this story is going to end. Just like any other fairy tale happily ever after bullshit endings. Do I dare read the 3rd book? Of course I do I want to finish the series. So unbelievably screwed up. Isn‘t there a fourth now? 7y
BrandedCowgirl This is not a book to base hope of love off of but I want to soooo badly!! But it‘s lieing to yourself thinking you can help someone that far gone!!! No one can help you but yourself!!! 7y

This book is erie and give me chills. On a another note, the same descriptive words are used through both this book and the first one and every sex scene ends with the exact same words. It‘s annoyance my how often they fuck. And it‘s only what week two. That‘s also another annoying thing, the time line. Book one week one. Book two week two and a crazy ex sub. I‘m not enjoying this book anymore.

16 pages in they only been apart 5 days... sitting here screaming at her no! Don‘t go back! But I like the glimpse into one of his nightmares in the prologue. Will we see both sides of the story now? Mainly what‘s going through his head? But I‘m panicking over this book, it triggers my ptsd. I guess I can use this book as an exposer exercise. Hate the things we need to do to get better. I don‘t like the panic feelings!!!!

Not a good book. Hated the 1st one. Don‘t remember why I started the second. Just trying to finish b4 the e-book is due tomorrow. Probably won‘t meet that goal. I hate an unfinished book—even a bad one. Ready for a good horror book next. Wasted 2 weeks on this one.

I'm doing two #bookpairings today because I couldn't decide. Two of my favorite things: books & music. When I first read the Fifty Shades books years ago, I made myself a playlist of a lot of the music mentioned in the book-so much good stuff.

Say what you want about the books & movies, but the OST for the movies are 👌🏻. I especially love Darker's: Zayn, John Legend, & The-Dream songs are 🔥🔥

#fallintobooks

batsy Love The Weeknd's song from the first one, I think. 7y
sprainedbrain @batsy Yes! He's got two on that one, I think. I also love the Sia song on that album. ❤️ 7y
SheReadsAndWrites I make a playlist for every book I write with all the songs that inspired me while working on it. 😊 Some of the songs I put in the book too. #lovemusic #muse 🎶 7y

LauraBrook Agree 100% to all of this! And every time an author includes anything classical, I get overly pumped. Yes, I'm the kind of girl who gets pumped over classical music. 🤓 Hmmm, reminds me that I bought Darker but have yet to watch it since then. Hello Amazon Prime! 7y
sprainedbrain @SheReadsAndWrites I love that, and I love it when authors share playlists with readers... it definitely adds to the experience of the book! 7y
sprainedbrain @LauraBrook Agree! There is a lot of classical on my original Fifty Shades playlist. 😍 7y
Bookzombie Yes! When I walked out of the first movie, I was all about the soundtrack. I haven't seen the second movie yet, but I have already listened to the soundtrack a number of times. 🙂 7y
sprainedbrain @Bookzombie they are both really good. Can't wait to see what's on the soundtrack for the third! 7y
Liatrek Totally agree! I loved Annie Lenox one the first soundtrack 7y
RadicalReader @sprainedbrain my two favorite songs are: Love Me Like You Do ( played when Grey takes Ana to his Mansion via Charlie Tango) and I Don‘t Wanna Live Forever( Ana and Grey are on the boat together) 7y
