Heller‘s prose had serious potential but the never ending storylines and rambling tangents all seem to have #nothingincommon with one another or the major plot line. Add in a disastrously constructed mystery, a female MC very poorly written by a man, and some far-fetched situations (an old lady with emphysema scaring off a drunk, rowdy biker gang 🙄), and you have yourself this failure of a novel.

My two loves Pirates ☠️⚓️⚔️ and Pride & Prejudice! 😍

Me and the characters in this book have #nothingincommon but I felt connected to them on such a deep level. Han Kang is a master in exposing the common humanity that binds us all ❤️ 100% recommended. It's a tough read but very interesting, both in content and form!

#SeptemberDanes I‘m playing catch-up 😉Tagged book is a real heartbreaker ~ Lynnie a young white girl, living in a home for the “feebleminded” falls in love with Homan , an African American man, who “works” at the Institution.
Homan is deaf and also considered “dim witted” and the authorities believe these two have #NothingInCommon & should be separated 😪When Lynnie discovers she‘s #pregnant they run away, hoping to raise their child together.
