I am happy to report it did have a non cliffhanger ending. And I've looked up the next book, Dragons of Summer Flame, and it is not a continuation of these same characters. I really enjoyed this trilogy. It was the right amount of adventure and magic. I also liked that the characters were flawed, which made them feel real. Well written, and great story line. I'm only sad I didn't find these back in high school. Better late than never I guess!

I have only 10 chapters to go but am worried it isn't actually going to have an ending.

#LetsTravelAugust #Adventure

There are so many books that I thought of for the Adventure photo prompt. The Hobbit/LOTR's, Tad Williams, RA Salvatore, Terry Brooks, Raymond Feist, Narnia...not to mention all the more modern stuff...

Dragonlance won out though. It was these books that pushed me forward into playing Dungeons and Dragons as a kid and that's an adventure I still participate in to this day. 😊

#Marchintothe70s

Growing up, the #Heroes of the Lance from the Dragonlance books were some of my favourite characters out of all the books I was newly discovering! ❤️

@Lizpixie @Cinfhen

Lizpixie I haven‘t heard of these before, high fantasy is an iffy genre. It‘s either wonderful or totally boring I‘ve found.👍♥️ 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @Lizpixie I feel like that could be said of any genre, really 😊. I'm a fantasy nut! It's easily 80% of what I read! ⚔️🧙‍♂️⚔️ 6y
julesG I loved the Dragonlance. I got the whole trilogy in one book nearly 20 years ago. 6y

GrilledCheeseSamurai @julesG Nice! Is that the annotated version? That's the one I have (besides the paperbacks). 🤸‍♂️ 6y
julesG No, it's not the annotated edition. I think I was too short on money for it. It's a Penguin paperback "all in one brick" . 6y
BookwormM Blast from the past I loved The Twins trilogy 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @BookwormM It was such a GREAT follow up trilogy, hey? 👌 6y
Chrys Oh I loved those and the Twins trilogy, I really should do a reread sometime 6y

Anyone else remember #Dragonlance? I loved these books when I was a kid - they really got me into reading (esp fantasy - I went from here to #WheelofTime, #LOTR, #Earthsea)

This tree reminded me of the town of Solace, where the houses (and inns) are built in the trees... 🏡

julesG Yep, remember them fondly. I devoured the books at age 15/16 and bought the Omnibus Edition when I was in London in 2001. 6y
NotAJot @julesG haha, same! Still have the omnibus kicking around - I'd be scared to re-read them now, but I think the nostalgia factor would get me through any rough patches 6y
BehindthePages Amazing books! I'm currently re reading them and yes the nostalgia does help :) I still love them! 4y

 @vkois88 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Caramon & Raistlan. Twins. One sickly and weak with a lust for knowledge and power, the other, strong and hale with the desire to protect.

These two characters captivated me when I was younger and taught me a lot about sacrifice and balance.

#Map or better yet #maps for #LyricalApril. @Cinfhen

Thanks to quite a lot of fantasy novels, I do have some map pictures. Dragonlance Chronicles on top. The other books are in the comments: ⬇

julesG @Blueberry It was very obvious, wasn't it. And it was a no-brainer choosing it. 8y
Blueberry @julesG. Not at all. I didn't remember where it was from until I read the title and it had happy memories. :) 8y

#ASeasonInTheTitle The Dragonlance books are great for this one. #marchintoreading @RealLifeReading

gestapocat God, I loved reading those books when I was younger. But I just realized after all these years that I didn't get and read the 4th one (Summer Flame). Now I understand why the ending in the third was so "ehh". Figures! 8y
Silencio These are the books that really cemented the fantasy genre for me. The subsequent series, Dawning of an new age and war of souls aren‘t as critically acclaimed and some fans don‘t care for them but I enjoy them all! 5y

Sace Oh I love the dragons! These are some of my husband's favorite books! 8y
TK-421 @CrowCAH Thanks! They usually sit in a place of honour at the head of the gaming table, but I thought they'd pair well with these books 8y
TK-421 @Sace Thanks! My husband introduced me to these books about 20 years ago. And he bought the dragons 😊 8y
