Niemalsland: Roman | 
Well, Amazon did not deliver the book I wanted today, so I found this in my house. Something has to scratch the book habit itch that I‘ve started in the last few months… Not sure where it came from, but I‘m not mad at it. So far it‘s giving Alice in Londonland. 50 pages in and I‘m intrigued.
pickI don‘t know how long it‘s taken me to read this, but it‘s been a LONG while. It‘s spent a lot of time between my place and the library but I liked it so much I didn‘t want to give up on it, and I‘m glad I didn‘t. I just loved the story and the fantastical world that Gaiman created.

1. For me the answer can only be Neil Gaiman. Comics, picture books, middle grade, YA, poetry, adult—he‘s a fabulous storyteller
2. The tagged book is probably my favorite favorite & the one I own the most editions of. Plus, it has two of my favorite characters ever—Mr. Croup & Mr. Vandemar. I‘m also inordinately fond of Fortunately, the Milk, The Graveyard Book, & Stardust…ok Coraline too. Alright, all the books!

I don't know if I'm reading slower or reading Gaiman slow. Either way, this 330 page book took me a month to read. However, I still loved it!
I've discovered there's a miniseries and can't wait to get my hands on it and see this world brought to life.
The was my #GenreChallenge for March. Contemporary fantasy was the randomly chosen genre. This subgenre is a fantasy story in a modern-day setting. It often contains magic but it is not obvious.
Working oh so hard! Almost done with Gaiman and enjoying afternoon baseball in between calls.
Still working on “Neverwhere“ slowly but surely. Hoping to finish by the weekend and dive into my next read.
Love Gaiman but man, I read his works so slow. They are so good though!

Classically, the BBC version of Neverwhere is just **chef‘s kiss** in that classic BBC kind of way. Currently, His Dark Materials is SERIOUSLY good.

Neverwhere is my favorite book by Neil Gaiman. I especially love the audiobook read by the author. I have listened to this book countless times. When I can‘t get to sleep, the story and Neil‘s voice transport me away from circling thoughts and help me to drift off. When I saw today's prompt I immediately thought of Gaiman. His books tend to be bizarre, but in a good way. These are my favorites books by him.
It‘s Friday the 13th and the stage is set. 20 minutes until I get to see my favorite author live and in person for the first time. I can think of no better place to be right now. No signing line but signed books were available for purchase and I picked up a few of my favorites…So. Excited.

1. Absolutely depends on my mood. Weather can be an influencer—stormy or wintery weather will often have me reading slower, immersive stories. Good writing can also cut right through my mood & make me change my mind about what I “think” I want to read

Still not enough to make me queue for hours to get my book signed. Well I probably would have but my teenager would have murdered me so I took the more cautious route. I am going to get his latest tome though which is the Neil Gaiman Reader - kind of a Best Of from his career.
pickThis is my 4th book by Neil Gaiman which I read because I‘m going to a talk by him next week. In real life! So excited!
I loved this book. It feels written for a younger audience - it‘s fast moving and the chapters aren‘t very long - but on the other hand it‘s also really dark. The villains are terrifying in my opinion! Yes they crack jokes, but at the same time they‘re pure evil - I thought Gaiman did a great job of making my skin crawl -⬇️
so-soI thought it was good but maybe a tad bit dragged out? I‘m not a big fan of super fantasy type books and this one was definitely a dream on paper lol
bailedI don‘t usually feel bad for bailing on a book, but this one has me in bits! The characters are charming, the universe is original, and the plot intriguing.

As it is, I‘m just a bit lost, and reading this feels like a chore. The writing feels rly old school, as does the humor, and maybe that‘s it. I‘d prob love the tv show version of this story tho!

After Richard Mayhew returned to London Above in the end, he realises that he is not satisfied with the normal world, and wants to return to London Below. With a last line like that, I really wished Gaiman writes about Richard‘s further adventures in London Below. Last line in the comments. 👇
