With the previous two books I could distinctly remember who the killers were and why, but with this one I wasn't so sure.
Funny how your brain retains certain things and forgets others.
So this re-listen was a blast.
Lena's story is such a sad one, but I just can't like her.
Now on to my favourite of the Grant County series.
I‘m a huge fan of Karin Slaughter and I kind of like this series, but it pales in comparison to her Will Trent series. Sara Linton‘s ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, still loves Sara, and she him. But Jeff is arrogant and a bit narrow minded, , whereas Will is tender and loving. Anyway, this book reveals what Lena Adams is truly like. It‘s not good. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Medical examiner Sara Linton is called to an apparent suicide at the local college. The mutilated body provides few clues. For Sara and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, things don‘t add up. Two more suspicious suicides follow, and a young woman is brutally attacked. Jeffrey discovers that Lena Adams, now a security guard on campus, may be in possession of crucial information.

I didn't like this as much as the previous two books in the series but this was still an amazing read! I'm kind of getting over Sarah and Jeffrey a little bit. It's getting kind of old. Lena...well I'm starting to sympathize with her self destructive behaviour but she's still grating on my nerves. I need some development to go with the storyline!
Anyway...onto book 4!

I'm so glad I finally started this series. Book 3 was just as great as the first two. ?
The killer in this one was a bit too obvious, but what I loved in this book was the struggle that Lena shows. For all that she's been through she's not going to just be "ok" and this book explores her dealing with her trauma by putting herself in dangerous situations.

I just downloaded this audiobook with a #BlueandRed cover from my library for #LittenListen. I can't wait to start listening while getting some chores done today. @aperfectmjk
Her books are not for the faint of heart , there is violence, but her continuing characters are interesting people , Ms.Slaughter always delivers an thrilling ride. A friend of mine did the Grafton series one after the other , I read so many different things I hardly ever do that plus , I can make a series last longer . Tempted to grab the next one though, I know it‘s around here somewhere!
I‘m reading 3 non fiction books , enjoying them , but I need something else...so starting this one.
For some reason I get really bored and a little irritated with the grant count series. Still good stories but something about them 🤷🏽♀️ maybe I hate Lena, I nothing Geoffrey. I need to love the characters to love the book I guess.
This is probably my favorite Grant County book so far. It focuses a lot on the character of Lena, who I have always found intriguing. Definitely a page turner. Now to decide if I want to read the next book in the series or take a break from Sara Linton.
#79 of my year! I aim to collect and read all of her books because they‘re so great. Going to go back towards the beginning and see what‘s been going on where I left off. This one is a Grant County series book number 3.
Master of suspense. Fast paced thriller.
Continuing with the Grant County series.
Loved the 3rd installment of Slaughter‘s Grant County series!! Not quite as graphic as the first 2 so that‘s a plus!! Really enjoyed the ending as well! Guess I will continue on with my new found love of Slaughter‘s books 💜
I can‘t get enough of Karin Slaughter! Loving the Grant County series. I couldn‘t figure this one out; suicide or murder? If murder, why? Is the killer a racist? What is the victim‘s family hiding? And what in the world is going on with Lena Adams?! Why is she making such horrible decisions?! I‘m glad the crimes were resolved...for the most part. Looking forward to the next one! #audiocoloring
Another good book in the Grant County series. I really struggled with Lena to the point that I almost couldn‘t finish because she ticked me off so much. But I did finish! I‘m glad I did. 🤗 One question for those who have read this... the very end? Lena? What?!?
After shoveling snow I feel like it‘s appropriate to read with some hot chocolate... (it may have some Bailey‘s in it 🤷♀️) 😁
At the gym early because we are about to get hit with snow. This book certainly helped but I feel like I want to body shake Lena? 🤷♀️
In between pick and so-so. I liked the first two in the series far more. This one felt somehow hasty, not so well-thought out, and the plot was not that great. Lena‘s behavior was strange, but then again, I have no clue what would be considered normal behavior after what she has gone through. It felt like all the characters were on edge and acting strangely. I will definitely continue with book four though.
I need to read 15 books to reach 200 this year! Here‘s the next one.
A bit disappointing, this 3rd in the Grand County series. I was pretty annoyed by especially Lena‘s behaviour, but also by Sara and Jeffrey‘s.
Also the plot wasn‘t that good, I always like when I can think along with the detective but this time the detective couldn‘t think straight and so neither could I!
I‘m not giving up yet on Slaughter though.
Would really rather blow off work and maintain this status. #BookAndBreakfast
I find these books a guilty pleasure. 😊
Book 3 in the Grant County series and another solid read! The mystery of whodunnit lagged a bit towards the middle, but picked right back up at the end with a twist thrown in for good measure. Overall I got the feeling that this book was more about our core characters and their development - I don't understand Lena at all, but I can't deny that she's fascinating!
Second book finished for #24in48 and I'm just over 10 hours 📚
Another great thriller!! A page-turner. #AFaintColdFear #KarinSlaughter #book #bookaholic #booklovers #ler #leitura #leitora #reading #instabook #instaread #instabooks #bookstagram #litsy #booklover #readingabook #vero #Sha2018 #taglivros
Slaughter‘s books always put me on edge. Maybe not the best for bedtime reading, but can‘t stop!
Finished this a couple of hours before midnight - it was a really great third instalment in the Grant County series. It was as good as I‘ve come to expect from Karin Slaughter - I‘m going to be sad when I‘ve finished them all ! And Happy New Year all of you lovely kind littens !! 🥂🍾

Continuing my Karin Slaughter journey with A Faint Cold Fear but Harvey keeps distracting me with his cute little face and his Christmas pudding jumper!
I decided that my last two posts sounded a bit whiny & it's Friday & after this dinner, I got nothing to complain about.😆😋I tried Ina Garten's Salmon Tacos with Cabbage-Cucumber Slaw & Avocado Mash. Quick, easy, delicious & on the blog tonight-so holler if you want a link to the recipe. I was going to read this book but these tacos are messy (& well worth it) so I watched the Late Night with Seth Meyers episode I DVR'd instead. #wildfridaynight
Tonight's veggie potsticker dinner-about the easiest thing that sounded good.😋I've had a front to back headache most of the day that finally eased up an hour ago so I'm trying to finish up this book as I have the next one on audio for about another week before I have to give it up. Does anyone else's library buy only some of the books in a series on audio? It drives me crazy!😖 Mine had 1, 2 & 4 on audio but not any of the rest of the series.🤔
This joke told at the end was the only good part of the book.
Overwrought descriptions, unbelievable plot, weak female characters masquerading as strong...I was not impressed. Yet I've read other books by this author and they were mildly entertaining, so I'll try another at some point.
I'm so obsessed with Karin Slaughter books lately! This wasn't my favorite so far, but I still couldn't stop turning pages. Lena's behavior felt off to me for most of the book-same with Jeffrey and Sara. By the end things felt okay-ish with this group again. (I just want everyone to be well and happy and get along!)
And that ending = WHOA.
Also I've been listening to these books on audio and I loooove them. The narrator is Kathleen Early.
Had to stop by the library to return a book & DVD & renew Farmer Boy for virtual foodie bookclub & while I didn't find any books to check out (I have enough at home from last week), I did manage to find two from my #TBR list at the library bookstore. I've been wanting to read My Life on the Road & I'm still about five people back in the waiting list for the A Faint Cold Fear e-book, so for $2, I'm happy with this mini #bookhaul.
Alerting all Karin Slaughter fans! A FAINT COLD FEAR is a Kindle Daily Deal today! Head over to www.amazon.com today.

Karin Slaughter is one if my go to authors, and I love this series. Grab it, Litsy peeps!!
I just got all these books for 3$! So excited!! Plus Tesla had to photobomb lol #ilovethriftstores
This book was fantastic! Not as gory or as twisted as some of her books but has a few great twists that held me to the book. I listened on audible and I must say the narrator is amazing
