Wow. Robin Hobb is the best writer I have ever read. What a wrap up to the series.
Wow. Robin Hobb is the best writer I have ever read. What a wrap up to the series.
An epic conclusion to an epic series.
853 pages in this book and I could not tear myself from it. I have ignored both family and sleep for the duration of time it‘s taken me for me to read it.
I‘m trying to tell myself that I‘m not sad that it‘s over, because I know one day I‘ll read the whole series over again and get even more joy from the re-read.
This series was such an amazing journey. These characters will stay with me for a lifetime.
Thank you fb - 4 years ago today I met and talked to Robin Hobb ❤️❤️

📖 Tagged book and just started A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World
📖 Yes but the name escapes me at the moment.

To no one‘s surprise, my Best of 2019 is a whole lot of queer stuff and a poetry collection about my local river.
In some ways, it‘s a good reflection of what I read. 2019 was my (unplanned) Year of Awesome Romance, after all, and Canadian content and fantasy are also well-represented.
BUT, no comics made the cut and I don‘t feel great about how the list is 2/3 white. Clearly I need to seek out more queer work by BIPOC in 2020. #bestof2019
March stats. My various comics series rereads gave my total a major bloat.
I read some awesome stuff last month. I had a great time with the rereads, as expected, but I also found four new-to-me 4.5ers and two new-to-me 5-star reads. Hurray!
ASSASSIN‘S FATE was my most anticipated book of 2017 by a huge margin. I was desperate for it, but I also knew there was a big chance it‘d destroy me—and spring 2017 turned into a time when I very much needed to avoid destruction.
So I read half the book, then took a break. And I didn‘t seriously pick it up again for almost two years.
Now I‘ve finished. I‘m heartbroken, and reeling, and also kind of... happy? ⬇️
That moment when the best wolf in all of fantasy shares your ship.
(I try sooo hard not to ship things because I get all giggly and irrational and my ships ALWAYS SINK, if they even manage to launch, but when the chemistry‘s right I can‘t control it. And dammit, I ship the hell out of Fitz and Kettricken.)
(Also, I respect personal opinions in all literary arenas except one: if you think some other wolf is better than Nighteyes you‘re WRONG.)
Somebody decided I should stop reading and wrestle with him.
I did the book & beer thing last night. My pour did have a nice head on it to start, but I got interrupted when I was setting up the picture and by the time I got back to it all was lost. Still, it tasted pretty good. Hoegaarden‘s the closest thing to gose my Liquor Mart regularly stocks. It‘s a touch too sweet, but I deal.
Re: the book, I hit 80% right before I fell asleep and now I have A LOT OF EMOTIONS.
Had a free white chocolate mocha while I read a bit more of ASSASSIN‘S FATE. I feel like I‘m creeping through the back half at the slowest possible pace, but I‘ve gotta keep reminding myself the book‘s 864 pages and every percentage that ticks by actually does represents a fair chunk of story.
I‘ve been putting it off for literally years because I‘m chickenshit, but it‘s time to finish ASSASSIN‘S FATE. 56% to go.
I decided to choose four Must-Read titles for March instead of the usual three. I need to finally finish ASSASSIN'S FATE, SING THE FOUR QUARTERS has also languished partly-read for too long, THE LITTLE PARIS BOOKSHOP is a loaner I've gotta get back to its owner, and UNVEILED is purely a treat.
Could not resist this beautiful set...my preciousssssssss 🐝🐺🐉
Three years ago, I finished the first book about Fitz, the Fool and all the other great characters in the Realm of the Elderlings series. Yesterday I finished the last book, in the last series set in this amazing world. And it broke my heart. 💔
I have spent three years, 16 books and probably close to 10.000 pages with these characters, and I‘m not really ready for it to end. But it was a perfect book to end with!
Just finished this, and I‘m a wreck. I can‘t write a proper review at the moment, cause I‘m in desperate need of cuddles and a good sobbing.
@TrishB I know you warned me, but I really wasn‘t prepared 😭😭😭😭😭
Halfway through this and things are getting really intense! So I had to take a break, and used it to go to the bakery and buy a Fastalavnsbolle which is finally back in season again 🙌

Finally ready to start the last book of the trilogy! 🙌

Happy New Year everyone! I completed 72 books in 2018 and the tagged one was my favorite.
Hopefully 2019 will be another year filled with reading!
My poor heart!! I know it would hurt a lot, but I was hoping for some mercy, a drop of it, and yeah, I know, it was stupid of me to hope but... oh my!! I had to stay up late at night to finish it and I was a sobbing mess at the end, but it was worth it!
Robin Hobb. Ok, yes, this book could be a bit shorter. But, were it to be at the expense of words like these, then it would not be worth it. I appreciate the layers that the prophetic dreams give Hobb's series, as well as the often poetic prose they lend. A fitting end for some characters I adore. I will never be over this book.
All the stars.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overly long.
Fitz and the Fool were pretty hateful in this one - I think it can be argued they both went full villain protagonist. My ambivalence towards both of them became active dislike.
Liveships > Rain Wilds >> Tawny Man > Farseer Trilogy >> Fitz and the Fool Trilogy
Haven't done one of these in a while! #HelloThursday @wanderinglynn
1. 😭
2. 58 so far!
3. Moving in with my boyfriend.
4. Trip home to the Netherlands for the holidays.
5. Hi @tokyoseg
Oh, Fitz. I‘ve spent almost half my life traveling with you. I waited so long to start this, knowing it was the last book. This one will stick with me for a while.
Well deserved 👏🏻 👏🏻
Just about halfway!!
122 pages down, 757 to go! I am sad to finally be so close to the end of Fitz‘s story. (His story is told in three epic trilogies - this is book nine!) #robinhobb #fitzandthefool
#keptmecrying #aprella
Last of nine books about Fitz and the Fool. I could hardly see for the last 1/4 of this one - the tears were tripping me 😢 Not going to say anymore because others are only just starting the journey! A fitting end I thought though, a hard thing for an author to pull off sometimes.
1. 2nd born.
2. Nope. We have loads of cousins and me and my brother were stupid close as kids.
3. 1 brother.
4. Nettle, Chivalry, Steady, Swift, Nimble, Just, Hearth and never forgetting Bee. The many step children and children of Fitz. ❤
5. I'll try!

Day 13 - Heartbreaking Death
I won‘t say who, but someone crosses over to the other side in this book and it was devastating, and beautiful.

I finished this book about a year ago and I‘m still not over it. My review:

I had the pleasure of reading all 9 books in The Fitz and the Fool story and the pain of the ending in this one!! No spoilers - a fitting ending too.
Also Fitz is a brilliant best man character 😁
My February stats. Shorter month but one more book than January! Unless something awesome comes along, the tagged book will probably be my favorite of the year.
#goodmorningheartache #fiercefeb
This last book in the Fitz and the Fool series certainly gave me heartache! I read the last few chapters with the tears tripping me 💔

One of the Robin Hobb shelves.
I joined Litsy not that long ago, but already reached 1000 Litfluence! Thank you Littens! I'm so glad to have found this place.
1. The tagged book was the most recent one. Twice. But I always cry when someone dies.
2. I like both, but wear neither.
3. What? Ketchup or nothing.
4. POP

1. Anything with lemons! Cheesecake, sorbet, drizzle cake. Yum!
2. Paw Patrol. I have a 2 year old. 😂
3. Assassin's Fate. Robin knows how to mess with all the feels.
4. Just over 7 months! 🙌

Snow in Tokyo. Perfect day to curl up on the couch with a book and hot chocolate!
Unfortunately I had to work... 🤣
Taking a break from reading for my other hobby: #boardgames ! Playing Great Western Trail.
I received this one as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend. I'm excited to read this book and dreading it at the same time! 😱
I think this was a good culmination of the Farseer books and the Liveships.
That ending though. 😢 Also can I say how much I love this cover image of Fitz.
1. I've never listened to an audiobook!
2. I'll say Outlander for any year, and Assassin's Fate for 2017 release. Autumn was a little close to non-fiction for me...
3. Wishful Drinking. Not sure why but December has been full of autobiographies. I've only read 1 previously. 3 this month alone!
4. Leigh Bardugo 😍
