A little late to be reading this series for the first time, but this is definitely the most suspenseful of the lot so far!

Just saw the movie for this book that I read a couple years ago, and I gotta say that after the first film, the book series and the movies become COMPLETELY OPPOSITE from each other! Other than highlighting the characters who die, the movie plot is nothing like the books. But it was fun to watch anyway so whatever.

Frankly, my favorite part of this book was when Celeana finally killed Archer (after nearly a month of "imma kill you when I come back if you're not doin wut ur supposed to be doin") because that dude deserved it more than anyone, MY GOD. ALSO, does anyone get WHY this book is titled Crown of Midnight?

Not yet done reading this book.. I've pretty much been "in the process of reading it" for 4 years now (yup?). Picked it up on Tuesday after having it sit in a sad corner for a few years- because people say the series is really good. I originally put it down because it got sad and I was annoyed with the characters- BUT, just because the story gets sad, it doesn't mean that it should be put down (a little life lesson).

Decided to finally pick this up after having it lay around for a couple months, and it will likely take me forever to finish it since it's the longest book I've ever read😂😂😁❤️

Gezemice So good! The sequels are longer ;) 8y
Pickingclover I love this series! 8y

I legit was WICKED close to crying at the end, but I didn't because I'm stronger than that. Tbh I'm just glad I'm done because that book took me FOREVER to read but yeah, it was awesome. I may reread the series at some point, but that is unlikely. 😊

I only just started reading this awhile ago and was in a big reading slump after finishing "The Rose Society", but my book goal this summer is 10 (not very many but whatever). How many books do you plan to read this summer???

QueenAnne 10 is a lot though, I plan to read much more than other summers🤓 thanks to litsy (keeps feeding my tbr stack!) which ones are in your planning? Enjoy ☀️ 9y
ShatterMeFangirl @QueenAnne Not sure yet... I know I'm reading the new switched around version of Twilight and rereading Red Queen, and I'll find other things too. Throne of Glass is also a big one for me! 9y
QueenAnne @ShatterMeFangirl a switched version? Hmm could be interesting! Red Queen is on my list too, hearing all sorts of good things about that one. I plan on rereading "Rose Madder" by Stephen King this summer, loved it so much! ❤️ 9y
CaitlinSiem I never gave myself a numerical goal for summer. The only goal I've given myself is for the goodreads reading challenge. I guess my goal is just to be constantly reading something. 9y
ShatterMeFangirl @CaitlinSiem that seems good too even if I don't end up reading 10 I want to always have a book that I'm working on 9y

Going to read these at some point, not sure when...

[DELETED] 3517561138 My advice is wait until ol' Georgie boy announces #6 is ready. Because I've been waiting for years for that book, and #7, I've forgotten a lot of what happened in the first 5. I've tried rereading them but I got bogged down. I really hope he doesn't die before he gets the next books finished! 9y
Fandomlyla_Pottercy You have to read them! But yeah I'd agree with @CDT . He's only written half if the sixth book and idk when he'll release it and start working on the 7th 😭 9y
CaitlinSiem I own the box set of all of them too but I've only read the first one, which I enjoyed, but they are thick beasts! 9y
See All 6 Comments
TheNextBook I've read the first 3 and loved them but I wont touch another one until he RELEASES the 7th one. Those books have so much and detail and are too big to dedicate and invest myself in, if theres a chance they may never be finished. 9y
jpmcwisemorgan I intended to read these last year after my brother said I should. I've watched a bit of the show so I found it hard to get into the first book. I'll try again some day. 9y

Which cover do you think is better? Drawing or no?

Fandomlyla_Pottercy The first one 9y
Bookzombie I like the drawing, but I also haven't read this series yet. 🙂 9y
Rudis I like the first one better than the second ones - feels like it tells you more about the book. 9y

BestOfFates The first - but I'm always partial to drawings over photos! 9y
SeanEasley The drawing. I can't stand the other one. Always thought it looked cheap. 😄 9y
youngish-adult Definitely the drawing ❤️📚 9y
Laura317 Definitely the drawing. 9y
NautiGirlReads It just shows how far the series has come! I love both! 9y
BookJunkie429 The first one 9y
Literati86 I'd have to go with the first one. It's so badass. 9y
ravenboysandbooks The first one 🗡 9y
[DELETED] 3517561138 Definitely #1 9y
EmmaReads First one - lots more attitude. 9y
ContraryMary The one on the left is way more badass 9y
charlotte The drawing 9y
Demanda Definitely the drawing 9y
jpmcwisemorgan Drawing. 9y
BookFreakOut DRAWING. I understand that she looks more her actual age in the picture, but it evokes too much of a Wendy Darling feel for me. Our library has the picture cover and my friend said she wouldn't have picked it up if not for my rec. 9y
SiriGuruDevSingh Drawing! Definitely! I love this cover! 9y

Tbh I loved this book it was going great UNTIL SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED AND I THREW THE BOOK AT THE WALL AND SWORE TO MYSELF I WOULD NEVER PICK IT UP AGAIN- so yeah

Ukulelebob I wanted to do that when Dumbledore and dobby died 9y

[DELETED] 3517561138 I've read all of them. I'm waiting on pins and needles until the 5th comes out in September. I felt the same way you did during book 2. I was so pissed off. But I can honestly tell you I am happy now with where she is and who she becomes and who she is with. 9y
BookFreakOut Keep gooooing!!! It is so sad for a while but she comes into her own and finds her way again. Queen of Shadows is absolutely amazing. 9y
youngish-adult I was there at one time too. But, trust me. Keep going. 9y
Literati86 This is one of the best series currently being written. I also love Sarah J Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses - the second book is so good. Stick with the series it just gets better and better! 9y
Brittbritt You should definitely keep going!! The way this series evolves is incredible and so worth the sad parts! 9y
SiriGuruDevSingh Heir of Fire is the best in the series so far--in my most humble opinion. A certain character is introduced that by far eclipses Celeana! 9y

[DELETED] 3517561138 Oh I loved this one!! I also read 1.5 but I couldn't bring myself to read 2 as it featured a new cast of characters and I was so attached to these two that I couldn't let it go. Let us know if #2 is as good as #1! 9y
ShatterMeFangirl @CDT There's new characters in the second book? That's strange... 9y
[DELETED] 3517561138 Yep. Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac. Same world, just different characters. There is a short story This Night So Dark, which expounds on Tarver and Lilac's story a bit, but they are not featured in book 2- or 3 it looks like. 9y

Though the ending seemed rushed and could've had more elaboration in the last few chapters, the book itself was really hard to put down. 4/5

Fandomlyla_Pottercy How is this series? I've heard a lot of people giving it a 50/50.. 9y
ShatterMeFangirl @Fandomlyla_Pottercy I LOVE IT it's one of my favorite series (the first three are a trilogy so you technically don't need to read the next two books unless you feel like it) 9y
BookFreakOut @Fandomlyla_Pottercy This is my guilty pleasure series. They can be silly and girly at times but they totally suck you in. I read The Elite in one sitting from 10pm-2am. 9y
Fandomlyla_Pottercy @BookFreakOut & @ShatterMeFangirl Thank you guys! I'll be sure to read it the next time then😁😁 9y
