Love love love this book and its predecessor Letters to the Lost.
Love it! There is nothing more to say. It‘s classic Moore, I loved every minute of it.
When an author comes into the shop and you learn about her books for the first time and now you want to read them all.
This is my first book of theirs and I really enjoyed it. Funny. Great to listen to in the car.
I enjoyed it, my son loved it so overall that's a win.
I loved everything about this book. It was so powerful and even though it was written decades ago I felt like it was speaking about current events. Definitely recommend it to everyone.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. The great books and wonderful goodies to go along with them.

Loved this book!!! Everyone listen to this one now.
My son and I both really enjoyed reading this one for bedtime. We can't wait to start the second in the series.
If you are going to read this book here is my advice: don't question it, just go with it. That being said, I really enjoyed reading this book.
Books with one word title display I made at work.
Today I dressed up as Splat the Cat for Independent Bookstore Day here in New Orleans.
My son drew this while waiting for me to get off work at the bookshop. I'm a fan.
I know sometimes I act like I'm twelve years old but come on...Harry Hole??!!
Even though I love my job I wish I could be reading right now.
When reading this I had to keep reminding myself that this story started it all in terms of pirate stories. It was incredibly difficult to read out loud but fun to try speak pirate. And without a good understanding of the workings of a ship I'm not sure how you would be able to follow good portions of the book. I know it's a classic but other than being a first I'm not sure how it got to be one.
Can't wait to read this one!! And if you haven't read the first one in this series what are you waiting for?!?!
I'm a little behind on posting this from last month but here are my April reads.
I'm not a fan of YA romance as a general rule but this book had so much more to offer. I loved every minute of it.
The shop just got these in, I think I need one!
Reading a book like this is like traveling through time.
My bookshop is hosting Sheryl Sandberg in May. I'm excited to meet her and listen to her talk.
This is the first book that I have started in print and finished on audio. I really loved the story though.
When my son suggested we listen to this book I had no idea it was written by Kurt from Glee! We're loving it so far.
I need to finish this book by bookclub on Wednesday. I'm not optimistic but I'm going to give it my best shot.
These are just a few of the books I picked up at Children's Institute. I think these are moving to the top of my TBR.
One of the books I had signed here at Children's Institute. I'm really looking forward to reading this one. #kidstute
The bookstore tour I went on during Children's Institute was so great. This is such a wonderful little independent bookstore. #kidstute
I went on a bookstore tour around Portland today and it was so much fun! #kidstute
6 of the 12 books I read in March. Lots of kids books this month.
I read 12 books in March. Lots of kids books as I try to be as prepared as possible for Children's Institute this week. Here are the first 6.
This book was so cute. I loved the illustrations. The story tapped into the insecurities of middle schoolers with heart and humor.
One day I am going to read this book, for now just look at these cool buttons we just got into the shop!
This is by far the best audiobook we have listened to in a long time. I recommend listening to it as an audiobook the production is incredibly well done.
I just finished this one on the way to pick up my son from school. ❤️❤❤ I've heard it said before and I wholeheartedly agree, This Is An Important Book. Read it. Just do it.
I enjoyed this quick read, I liked the characters and the magical elements of the story but the world is a bit flimsy. I was left with so many questions I would have a hard time recommending it to a kid I cared about.
I forgot to tell y'all that I got the opportunity to sell books for John Waters last weekend. Yeah, I love my job.
Ethan Brown signing his book for us during Tennessee Williams Festival. #TWF17
Signing her book during a lunch where I sold books today at Tennessee Williams Festival.
Turns out Michael Tisserand's kids and my son go to the same school. Here he is signing his books for us at the Tennessee Williams Festival. #TWF17
I'm still trucking through kids' books as I prepare for Children's Institute in 2 weeks.
I liked this one a lot. A little boy yearns to find that special something that will help him play the blues while dealing with the loss of him idol, his grandfather, Cool Papa.
We're all set up and ready for the Tennessee Williams Festival tomorrow.
