I'm going outside the box for one of my reading challenge prompts this year. I'm working through a book of logic puzzles. I'm still reading, but I'm also checking for comprehension. I couldn't bring myself to write in the book in case I pass it along when I'm done, so I'm using one of my MANY little notebooks to good use. Who's doing something similar?

Which tag is everyone using? 😁

InkedBookworm13 I have volume 1 of that book, and it's pretty fun. Good luck with your puzzles. 😀 2mo

AnneCecilie I bought the first volume in this series and couldn‘t get past the first puzzle. Am I supposed to look at them as a sudoko puzzle? 2mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Librarybelle Thanks! Perhaps I'll join you on that hashtag. Now, if only I could get my butt in gear to actually review the few I've read.... 2mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @InkedBookworm13 I had every intention of picking up Volume 1, but it was out of stock at the local bookstores I was visiting, so I figured Volume 2 would be a fine place to start. Good luck with your puzzles, too! 2mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @mhillis It had been so far! A little break from just straight reading. 2mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @AnneCecilie In a way, yes. You'll need to use the descriptions and clues to determine which person had which object and where they had it. For the beginner puzzles, each 9 square box should have one checkmark indicating yes in each row & column. Some clues will eliminate a pairing, so you can use an X. Then, you use your deduction skills. I learned these as a kid, so I didn't need to look at the instructions, but they seem OK. 2mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @AnneCecilie If Ms X has the necklace, I'd ✅️ her box, then ❎️ out the other two suspects for the necklace. Other clues may eliminate an option, so you have to infer based on the other info provided. If you still have trouble, perhaps I can scan one of mine & email or arrange a Teams meeting to discuss it with you. The larger ones may prove more troublesome, but the beginner ones should be easier to catch into one you pick up how to do them. 2mo

The Puzzle Box is a fast-paced thriller with interesting characters and a twisty, fun plot. As I enjoyed the first book in this series, I knew I would be pulled into this story. I love how Trussoni mixes legends, cultures, and modern technology to create believable adventures that are true page-turners. Mike Brink is such a unique character, and his ability to solve everything thrown at him will keep readers invested in his unique solutions.

After an accident when he was a young man, Mike Brink develops a savant syndrome that allows him to see interlocking patterns, making it possible for him to solve impossible puzzles. Every twelve years, since the Meiji Restoration, puzzle masters have attempted to open the Dragon Box, providing access to the treasure within.; all have died in the attempt. Now it‘s Mike‘s turn. Reminiscent of works of Dan Brown, although not as tautly written. Fun!

I feel like I should have done better, as a retired school librarian. And having been a librarian I‘m not really surprised at any of the books on the list. People will complain about the weirdest things. #IReadBannedBooks #TLT #ThreeListThursday

Here‘s three of my favs from the list
📖 Speak
📖 Monster
📖 Eleanor and Park

dabbe Same here, as a retired English teacher! More for our TBR? Or not. Thanks for playing and sharing! 🧡🤎💛 6mo

I got 26%.

I am shocked about Where‘s Waldo…wtf? The Bible surprised me but I read that in one school someone said if the school was going to ban all the books they chose, then that person said the Bible should be banned, too, and it was. I am also surprised about all the Stephen King books. This is all so insane.

#TLT @dabbe

mcctrish Why Waldo? Cuz he‘s lost? Book banners are bonkers 6mo
Amiable @mcctrish In one panel where you have to find Waldo at the beach, there\'s a tiny image of a bikini-clad woman showing some side boob. 🙄 6mo

The_Penniless_Author @Amiable That's just part of Waldo's misdirection tactics. 😆 6mo
IndoorDame Is that why the Bible was banned? Who knew some of these school boards had a sense of humor 🤣🤣🤣 Of course they could have taken it the way it was intended and swung the other direction by curbing some of this insanity, but I guess that was way too much to ask for. 6mo
IndoorDame @Amiable for real!? The world‘s tiniest cartoon sideboob? In addition to insane skewed priorities some people clearly have too much time on their hands. 6mo
Amiable @The_Penniless_Author Ha ha, right? Can‘t spot Waldo if your attention is on the side boob! 😄 (edited) 6mo

I've really been a poor host for this challenge this year 😂 But if anyone is interested, here's August's #ISpyBingo board!! I've been playing all the boards all year, so I've kind of forgotten that some people may prefer to see each month's board!!

@LiseWorks

LiseWorks Oh thank you lol I've been trying to all of them. And for some reason I lost August. 8mo
PuddleJumper I've been playing this as a year long challenge. No way I was gonna get any bingos monthly 😂 8mo

Last post today, Sherlockians. I found a website that has fun word puzzles for every single SH story, and I've shared a few with you already. I decided to just give you the entire website so that you can visit if/when you want to. Every story has THREE different types of puzzles. If you're a word puzzle person, this site is for you! 🤩
