Two thumbs up 👍! This was my 3rd time reading this and it never disappoints-especially since I never remember the details! 😆 If you‘re going to read one Victorian Gothic novel, make it this one; epistolatory and perfectly paced. Thank you to @BarkingMadRead for leading the #HashtagBrigade ! 🙏

This counts toward my #AllergictoChunksters / #ChunksterChallenge2025 at 626 pages!

I listen to this mostly and the Blackstone audio production was 👌

Amiable I‘ve never read this one— will have to add to my list! 4d
Ruthiella @Amiable Awesome! I think you will like it. Also, if you do audio, it‘s particularly a great option for this one due to its structure of multiple narratives. 3d

This is the conclusion to Binding 13. Loved it just as much as the first book. The author got you inside of the characters' heads. Great descriptive prose and a kick ass plot. It had all the feels. 5🌟 These books have to read in order. #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #LitsyAtoZ2025 book title addition @Texreader

TheSpineView #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable #AllergicToChunksters @julieclair This book comes in at 667 pages. Which I read in just three days. 1w

Finally finished my Q1 #chunksterchallenge2025 this morning. I admit that I didn‘t love this one as much as some other chunky biographies that I‘ve read. It‘s incredibly detailed, I only wish that the maps were just as detailed…it was difficult to imagine some of the battles. I‘m glad that I picked this one up…and the spine is beautiful on my shelves! Thanks for hosting, @Amiable #bookspinbingo

TheBookHippie I have this one. Haven‘t read it yet and I love your shelf! So many pretties. 2w
Amiable It does like good nestled into that row of chunksters! 2w

Absolutely superb!

What a conclusion. Never in a million years would I have guessed at the ending of this series. But that's been the theme through all these books... the most unexpected, unnerving twist and turns unfolding into the most exceptional story that will live in my heart forever.
Characters crafted with such emotional depth and complexity that I can't help but think of them as real.

Enchanted_Bibliophile They've become my friends, I've laughed with them, I've cried with them, I've raged with them, but most of all I loved with them.

Tahir is going to the top of my favourite author list!

I can't help it. He's such a good storyteller. I can't decide the author's view of women. At times, Mai Mai, Mary, Shavon, and Tess seem to be submissive, but they're also the ones who are behind the scenes, making things happen. Just like in Shogun. I was on the edge of my seat during the typhoon. Why isn't this a movie with Sam Heughn as Durk Streun, the Taipan?

3/5 stars for this “Barely a Bitsy” (just made it !) level in #ChunksterChallenge2025. I liked it well enough. I did. It just seemed … bloated. The action takes place over a 14-day period and it felt like I was reading every minute in real time. I did enjoy the descriptions of the Tudor period, though. Perhaps I‘ll pick up a nonfiction history of the era next. I‘ll probably continue with the series, but I‘m not in a hurry to do so.

Cuilin Perfect description, I‘m halfway and only a few days have passed. 1mo

3½✨

This is a typical Hero's journey with all the usual tropes you'd expect. Nothing earth shattering or different. Still I enjoyed visiting the world of Alagaësia and getting to meet all the characters. I'm intrigued to see where the series will take me.
I have my suspicions and would like to confirm them.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I wasn't a huge fan of this series, but I seem to be in the minority 😂 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @TheAromaofBooks I thought I'd give it another book or 2 before I cast my final vote 😉, but I can see why people don't like it. It's a lot of work with not that much satisfaction. 1mo
TheAromaofBooks It weirdly felt like I was reading nonfiction the whole time, except for a fictional place haha 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @TheAromaofBooks Yes! You're right. I started Assassin's Appreciate last night and the flow is totally different. Eragon feels choppy, like everything was written and rewritten to make it sound good, using unnecessarily complicated words instead of just telling the story. 1mo
